The death logic is one of the few things in this series I cannot see through yet either. I assume the bot physis must be different from other continuities, because Chainclaw died from a beheading which is usually something TF easily survive. IDW1 in particular was very clear about it, no brain or spark damage, no death. And IDW1 Megatron and many others had no problem with a detached lower half and worse wounds. It's why I assumed Sentinel and Chainclaw to be alive, I was actually surprised to see them die.

The Strika fight was already confusing me as well, since they were even punched through a wall and fell aside from the battle damage. There was also Leviathan smashing herself onto Quake or Javelin being shot into the head and nobody died from this (the head part would have killed most bots in other series). It felt a bit like done for the shock value in #25 and while I generally liked Sentinel's death scene him dying so quickly will always remind me of the even worse method IDW1 has used to get rid of him in Titans Return, where he literally just fell into a hole because of some bird that had nudged him (despite that he should be a shuttle even) because they somehow decided to turn him into laughing fuel.
I mean we will see if Optimus and others we are supposed to relate to manage to avoid such wounds. But something tells me they will experience worse and survive it regardless.

 

Sentinel Prime in that comic was not a shuttle, he was a micromaster who turned into a head, he fell to his death when he was in head-form with no means to fly.

I don't know what's so unclear about why Sentinel died in new comic to Spartan Prime. He didn't get 'splashed with some acid' as he very reductionistically put it, he clearly got it bad enough that we could see his armor clearly warped, and then he got rammed by a flying object that was stated to be one of the seekers with the hardest armor just a while ago. The guy was softened up and then slashed open.

 

Well, he's dead now. No amount of scientific debate will bring him back ...

... Or could it?

Reminds me of the Dreadnoughts from Warhammer 40k cos they\'re used in a similar manner, though treated with utmost respect.
Dissing a Dreadnought makes you a massive A-hole and a heretic liable for immediate execution.

 

Skilz is kinda cool looking ngl, to bad he didn't come with Gigawatt as a Battlemaster

 

Well, the difference being Dreadnoughts are also basically life-support units for a great hero who was felled in battle, so...

Why is young Marty\'s first reaction when seeing a giant robot that instead of I dunno, falling on his ass in awe and thinking it is cool, he starts to beat on him with his skateboard? And why does Gigawatt flick him off with a finger, it is not like he can do him any harm. I dunno who is writing this but it is about as bad as the Ghostbusters crossover was, so far.

 

This wrongest anyone has ever been. It would be so boring to see Marty do the whole "Woah, an alien robot.....amazing....wow!" for a page, we get it know it, we know what it is we get it let's get on with the story we get it.

 

Why this is not his first reaction to seeing a giant robot.

 

Now we are waiting for them in the comic.

 

I'm willing to put down money that Skilz is going to become a Hoverboard later in the story.

 

I just thought of an awsome plot twist. What if Gigawatt turns out to be Megatron from the future?
