Difficult to say if he wants to create his own criminal empire, but it seems to be that the palace will be his new base of operations from now on. Who knows, maybe he'll even turn it into a bounty hunter guild house?

Yeah, no. He does go on to tell Din he knows everything.
why would he leave Din alive? He built the Dark Troopers he knows they’re coming back. The only thing he doesn’t know is Luke Skywalker is showing up. He only tries to off himself when Skywalker eliminates his upper-hand.

...Dude they need to do a variation of The Thrawn and The Dark Empire Trilogy as the event that leads to Luke reviving The Jedi Order.

I thought Luke was framed rather well. There was a certain slightly ethereal otherworldliness to him, which I enjoyed. I really liked that there was no HI IM LUKE SKYWALKER moment, just a detached 'I'm the Jedi, I'm here for the child, bye'.

Visually, the de-aged Luke was kinda... bad technically, I thought. Didn't ruin anything for me, I just thought it was a poor example of this kind of technology. I'm glad the fan servicey prequel era power fantasy stuff was kept for the television show and left out of the movies. Like with Yoda losing his shit and having a backflip battle against a series of old men, its not an aspect of the character that I care for or particularly want to see.

On a writing level, I liked the ending. It was like the season 1 ending, and like the ending of The Last Jedi. It doesn't end on a cliffhanger, but I can't wait to see what happens next.

Someone tweeted that the firing squad was all female characters and she cheered how there was 40 minutes of badass strong women taking names and kicking ass. she then got called a fake star wars fan for not knowing "that Star Wars has always been filled with strong female characters.... Hope you got the virtue signaling kudos you were looking for. Eeeyyyeeee rooollllllll"

That "fake star wars fan" was Tiya Sircar, voice actress of Sabine Wren. https://twitter.com/JordanMaison/status/1340154691292975104 https://twitter.com/tiyasircar/status/1340137672447180800

    I predict...

If they ever made like a Star Wars series after Rise of Skywalker, We would definitely see Grogu grown up like maybe a young child or young Padawan. Just like how we didn't expect to see Ahsoka at the end of season 1 of Rebels finding out she survived order 66. Grogu could have survived the attack from Kylo Ren at the Jedi Training ground.

Incredible episode. Second only to the Clone Wars finale arc in terms of the Disney era
Everything about it was exactly what I wanted. Pure fan service, but in the best way possible. I loved The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, but I would trade them in an instant for a trilogy of this Luke. Granted, I really hope this is the last time Luke appears in this show, at least for quite some time. I love The Mandalorian as a smaller scare story, away from the Skywalker saga. I'm thrilled to see Luke in action, kicking ass while still being a kind and wise person, but he should be used sparingly in a series like this. If they want to make a new series about 10ABY Luke, I'd be 100% down, but I'd want The Mandalorian to exist as a separate thing too.

I'm impressed Favreau had the confidence to write out Grogu, at least for a time. No Baby Yoda and The Mandalorian helmetless removes one a big bit of iconic marketing fuel. If him and Filoni feel that the story doesn't need that to be successful though, that it can stand on the power of it's excellent writing and acting, all the more to them! Did not expect it to happen so soon though. Seemed like a series finale sort of thing. The idea of the story going on past that is pretty exciting. So much future potential with the conflict between Din and Bo-Katan, the way their places as one beholden to ancient tradition was swapped. The way the story explores the idea of what makes someone a Mandalorian really is fantastic.

While I was spoiled on Luke's appearance, I wasnt spoiled on that post credits scene. Damn was that good. Really hoping The Book of Boba Fett is a spinoff and not a subtitle for season 3, because I want to see both the continuation of Din's story and Fett's story as separate things. I've got no issue with an animated original character like Bo-Katan getting wrapped into The Mandalorian's plot, but Boba deserves his own thing. The idea of him as a crime lord is so exciting. Was shocked that Bib Fortuna was still alive, albeit briefly. Can't wait to see Boba and Fennec's turn as boss.

While I was worried the Dark Troopers would be built up as too powerful only to be destroyed in a disappointing way, Luke taking them down with ease still made them feel like the genuine threats they were in Dark Forces, because post ROTJ Luke's the sort of guy you can accept as being badass enough to be the only one capable of taking down an army single handedly. Really, my only disappointment is that the other Mandalorian, Ax Roves or something like that didn't show up. Not that he was a memorable character or anything, it just seemed weird to bring back Koska Reeves but not him. I'd expected either just Bo-Katan to be back or her and both her sidekicks. Wondering if the actor just wasnt available or what?

I liked it I didn't care the cgi face was a little iffy, it was a post ROTJ Mark Hamill Luke. Any other actor wouldn't have been the same. When it was a guy with Black gloves ina robe with a green lightsaber you knew who it was. I do wonder where it's gonna go from here.

Filoni & Favreau: We want lots of de-aged Mark Hamill in Ahsoka's show

    Disney: Too expensive

F&F: He'll have Grogu with him in a new costume

Disney: Here's the combination to Scrooge McDuck's vault... take what you need

I’d like a series devoted to side stories. We hear about Death Star 2 and Bothans, lets see a season based around that.
Next season could be between ROTJedi and TFA

Man... since 2012, when Disney bought Star Wars, we’ve been wanting to see Luke Skywalker.

Took 8 years... and those last few minutes was well worth the wait.

    Thank you Mando.

I’m thinking that Cara not thinking of that is fairly easy to handwave. It could be that it’s not widely known, or that for most folks it’s just a wild rumor.

To be fair, she didn't say she didnt know who it was. It could just be played as her being stoic.

My thoughts on the season 2 finale:

    My thoughts on The Rescue:

    1. How is anyone who was on the first Death Star still alive? I guess he was there for Alderan Day, but off the station on a mission piloting a shuttle when it got a Yavin?
    2. Okay, Boba and Kaska need to just rent a room and work out that tension. We'll wait.
    3. Makes sense for a bounty hunter to have non-lethal ship weapons so he can capture his prey.
    4. You built super strong, tough flying droid stormtroopers, and they take 5 minutes to boot up? Slight design flaw.
    5. Do Dark Troopers can deflect blaster fire, but a lightsaber cuts them like butter? I guess they didn't do full Bescar, maybe a blend?
    6. I wonder if Gideon injected himself with the kid's blood. He plans to eventually develop force powers and become a psuedo-Sith?
    7. Why are the Dark Troopers basking in the door stopping so they can let the Jedi work his way there?
    8. So Kara will return with his prisoner dead, but with two NEW top Imperial prisoners in tow? I guess they will let her keep her job.
    9. I guess Boba had to go, otherwise he'd be like "oh hi Luke, long time no see. How's Han, Chewbacca and Leia?"
    10. You know someone might has the Jedi his name and how to contact him, or where he is going? Are Djinn get visitations?
    11. I guess Book of Boba is season 3? Instead of Djinn being the star, season 3 wiil star Boba?

I’m pretty sure at this point “The Book of Boba Fett” is season 3. It feels like Disney would be making a big deal today if it weren’t.

While that’s a possibility, I just don’t see Disney shelving a massively popular TV show for no particular reason. It’s already a year between seasons. I also highly doubt
    Grogu is really gone
not only is the story just picking up pace..... it’s a cash cow. I think we’re looking at 2 distinct shows. COVID might be slowing things up but it just doesn’t make financial sense

Something else I haven't seen mentioned,...
not only was the helmet removal a touching scene between Dinn & Grogu it also signified what I think is the end of his Death Watch allegiance and the beginning of his quest to join Bo-Katan & the Mandalorians.

I still think Din is the guy to bring the two clans, or whatever, together he is well-respected, he follows THE WAY, he is noble, he has all the appropriate gear, most importantly he doesn’t WANT it. Which means he is going to unite the Mandalorians. He walks in both worlds.

But in the short-term yes he has problems, he broke THE WAY and he has the
DarkSaber putting him at odds with Bo
He’ll have to deal with contention from both factions but... that’s where I think this is going. Unification and leadership.

Disappointing, this ended exactly as I predicted. Really no surprises here. Hell, makes me wonder, why did Ahsoka not say "Oh btw I know a certain Jedi Master who would raise Grogu for sure?" three episodes ago?
The whole assault on the ship felt like I was watching a video game. Except, no, in most videogames the enemies are more challenging. Seriously, it just makes our heroes look weak if the Empire is this incompetent. Makes you wonder why the New Republic could not take Gideon down, if all it took was 5 people to board his ship and kill every trooper and officer from the hangar to the bridge without taking a scratch? Not even in Clone Wars did the Republic win so easily, at least there several soldiers and sometimes even Jedi died when accomplishing something so grand.
Guess the Dark Troopers are made of beskar, or why else did the blaster fire do nothing to them? But it really stressed credibility when one was pounding Din's head into the wall literally, and he survived? His helmet might be unbreakable but his skull inside would have been shattered, at best he would have a concussion.
I guess in 18 years the actor playing Jango really aged a lot. Can't help but notice he is not in the best physical shape. Maybe they should have just used a body double when Boba is in armor? And yeah, kinda makes it weird now how nobody in the old movies or any EU material ever remarked how Boba's voice is familiar, seeing as he sounds the same as all those thousands of clone soldiers.
The whole thing really reminded me why I was never a 100% fan of Clone Wars. Even when it was at its best, it often had story and writing issues. This show looks spectacular and the characters are good, but the stories told would need to be better written.
So yeah, my prediction is the same for next season, where we will likely have Thrawn be taken down the same way. Makes me wonder what will happen with Grogu but then again Filoni has been good at fixing continuity issues, so we will see. When exactly is this taking place? 2 years after Return of the Jedi, and the sequels are still 25 years away or so? I forget.
I did like the scene where the shuttle pilot reminds us that millions died on the Death Star(s) and "the universe cheered", when likely most of them were just enlisted people.

He was never a part of Death Watch, it is a different faction. We have seen several Death Watch members on Clone Wars remove their helmets, like Sabine's parents. Heck wasn't Bo Katan also a member of Death Watch once? I remember she and her sister (the queen or prime minister or whatever who was in love with Obi Van) never got along.

Ion cannons have always been a thing. If you played Tie Fighter or X-Wing back in the DOS era, you'll remember! Often missions require you to disable a ship, not destroy it. First you need to bring the shields down then an ion cannon will disable engines and weapons. Nifty thing.

Possible. The 10 new SW shows announced, neither of them was about Boba Feet which is strange, I expected him to get a show in an era where even the guy on Rogue One who is already dead gets a show...

I see what you did there... ;)  Yeah, they still have a long way to go to make us forget Last Jedi ever happened (or will happen) but this is a good start.

Seems some people still think that being badass and a good fighter equals "strong character". I mean, Cara and Bo sure are good characters and had been well written up to this point, but I could tell you nothing about Fennec and the other Mandalorian lady other than their names and professions, from what little we saw of them so far.
