Is Mondo the same company that announced a non-transforming Soundwave more than a year ago? Wonder what happened to that line.
At $30 I'd consider it. At $60 I'll just sit here at laugh at that face that some dumb sap who likes to waste money is going to spend $60 on that shit
It may be an entirely American thing. Because it's not all cocktails at all restaurants, mostly just certain restaurants that want to really lean in to the tropical theme. Right? That would explain why they're so cheap. Yep. Which is why I'm throwing side-eye at everybody who's ripping the people who made this for the price they're charging. If this was something they could crank out and sell at Target they could probably get away with cheaper price. But "expecting" them to charge $20 would be like dialing up Grimlockimus and asking him to make you a custom Transformer for the cost of a retail figure. From the looks of things, Mondo serves as an outlet for content creators to get merch out to the masses. I dunno if they hire on people or pay commissions or how it works, but a lot of there stuff calls out specific makers/artists. So I wonder if it's like TeeFury or Shirtoid in that regard.
I love this (and am a sucker for ridiculous cocktail mugs anyway)! Shame it’s not available in the UK, but glad for those who want it and can get it.
$60 for a tiki mug is a little steep but considering that they're handmade the price seems fair. Though being one-of-a-kind I'd probably just display it and be afraid to actually use it. : O
This seems like it's really stretching the concept of a "tiki mug". Maybe if the colors were more muted and wooden looking like the sculpting seems to suggest.
Same. I love novelty cocktails so maybe I'd use it *once* before cleaning it and safely stashing it away. Right, it's a tiki mug.
More than usual for a tiki mug, I mean. The top isn’t round, so it looks rather awkward to drink from.
ken_christiansen_art Grimlock Tiki from Mondo! I was hired by @brockotter for @mondonews to design a Tiki mug for Grimlock, up for preorder now! Here's the concept turns I did for him, and the final product (with link text embedded in the product images)
