Now available for preorder on Mondo’s site $60 Grimlock tiki “We all know there's one thing that every Autobot craves after a long day of kicking Decepticon tailpipe: A DRINK. Thank Unicron that the galaxy's most endearing Dinobot — Grimlock, duh — is now available as the first-ever Transformers tiki mug! Standing roughly 6.5" high, weighing 1lb 7oz, and holding 18 oz of motor oil (or any other liquid of your choice), this techno-tyranno-tiki was brought to life by artists Ken Christiansen, Aaron White, Brian Oskins and our friends at Tiki Farm, and is a powerfully prehistronic addition to your/our tiki collection.” Grimlock Tiki Mug
Which Star Wars ones are you referring to, because odds are *this* is why these are spendier.... If someone is manually having to pour molds, clean off seam lines, and apply glazes before they go in the kiln then what you're paying for is their time and labor compared to something that could just be coming off an automated assembly line.
No pictures from the top. I'd like to see the opening better. Is this something I can sip tea from? Those square edges make it look like it's for straws only. Possible I'm missing the point of what this is made for.
Typically tiki mugs like this are used to serve novelty cocktail drinks. So there's ice and bunch of liquor and you sip it through a straw. Like, the mug is literally part of the appeal of the drink. You stuff straws, umbrellas and different fruits. So the shape of the mug outside of the opening doesn't matter all that much as long as you can do stuff like this around the top. (FTR: This pic is from a local restaurant I frequented in the before time who's whole theme is based around a tropical setting. So they use these mugs for their different drinks.)
Ta! Not something I've really seen over here in the UK for cocktails (or maybe I'm frequenting the wrong places).
They're likely referring to the mass-produced Geeki Tikis. I think it looks good but not $60 good, though I know why it's priced that much.
$60 for a mug/cup like this is insane! for that kind of money, grimlock should be able to transform into a tiki mug!!!
I like it but not at $60. for thirty i'd consider it at $20 it would be mine. That said i can understand why that price but i think it misses the mark for a sweet spot on this sort of product.
Its cute, but it looks like it'd be a pain to try and drink out of. @Macross7 The one time Disney is cheaper then the rest.
I would really like this but it’s not available to the UK. They did that with their Adventure Time pins and I’m still sad about that
