The hood is not painted. The finders door area all black all red all silver all soft pieces besides the grey arm pipes as well as the gun and the yellow in the head and feet is painted. The pics are of places that I have had to repeatedly re apply paint due to high wear. I only took a picture of one side but it's the same on both. Not sure if this will help.

Picked this up from TRU for 120 Cad, could not be any happier, he is fantastic, just need a better iron hide and I'll feel really good about this collection. I think Jazz is still my fave, but this is undoubtedly second place, the transformation was so well done and to go from accurate vehicle to such a great Bot borders on that black magic stuff

 

To be fair, jazz was my first mp figure, so I now know to treat ratchet very very f**kng carefully

 

You have to get the movie bots from Unique Toys now while you can!

 

Yup these figures can be delicate. I saw one guy on these boards that was keeping his MPM Jazz in a bucket with other figures piled on top. The paint is massacred. Fully painted MP figures need to be treated very differently than mainline figures. Watch Wotafa’s reviews on YouTube to see how he transforms MPs. You have to take it slow and be mindful of parts that may rub on other parts.

Having said all that MPM Jazz does seem to have some pretty weak paint. The doors on mine are a bit scratched even though I own all the MPs and give them the white glove treatment.

Yeah man, whenever I see a new figure get released, I get excited for it, but mostly because of the inevitable (and almost always improved) KO that will be released later.

Just wanted to mention that the FolkArt Color Shift metallic Green Flash (5129E) works really well as a cheap paint for Ratchet. Straight out of the bottle works, but you can also dilute it for an air gun, although that takes away a bit of the shine. I am working on one leg at the moment and I'll post a picture of a finished and unfinished leg so you can see the difference.
