    Hey everyone,

Got mine Friday and I'm very impressed with him! Honestly after hearing what everyone is dealing with I was expecting to have to open him up for one reason or another immediately out of the box but he's actually ok (for now). Hes actually probably good enough to leave alone but then I'd be left out from everyone taking theirs apart. The only things that I will adjust are his left arm and leg and both spring panels that hold the arms on, they are just not tight enough and the arm want to slide out more often then not. The left arm actually holds itself up but with the slightest shake it will fall and the left leg will fall right away. All four outward ratchets work perfect. The battery came dead in the claw arm so gotta change that and btw the ratchet to rotate the claw is insanely tight. After playin with him throughout the weekend and transforming him back and forth I'm really happy with him. I did notice some scuffing/scratches only on a couple of leading edges on the feet, nowhere else so that's ok. The backs of his legs dont fully close together leaving a little gap and I can't figure out why at the moment. Most of the screw covers on mine are just snug enough to hold in but I've had most of them out already by a subtle tap or lightly picking by finger nail so I'm glad they won't be a fight to pull when it's time. That's about it for now.

I want to buy an insignia from Jream when he has more (no more listings on ebay again). All I have for decals are white bordered toy style. I bought the A, B, & C sets from bid bid good on ebay and most of the time they are just fine but for Omega Supreme I want just the red insignia. Just out of curiosity what is considered toon and toy as brought up a few posts back? Because I thought red logo, no border is toon and with white border is toy. This is why I want the 3D logo from jream, painted red with yellow backing that matches the toy and I thought that looked pretty toon to me. I'd be happy with a sticker but I'm having trouble finding clear backed decals and I'm not up for using water slides.

I'm glad to see you guys diving right in and fixing things. It's awesome when issues come up that the info is out there to help everyone. Seeing the pics so far I definitely will be simply stretching the springs a bit to create more tension, it seems the easiest route to tightening his loose parts when I get to it.

Glad to see that everyone else is getting good copies. Just from looking up images on google, it seems like the g1 toon insiginia is red with a yellow background while the toy is red with a white background.

The batteries should be simple enough to change. You only need to remove the 3 screws on the base of the claw and it should come right off. To fix the tight ratchet, you can try loosening the aforementioned screws a tad. Otherwise, you'll have to split the arm in half to access the ratchet which will require you to remove the 5 screw hole covers on the arm. Lube it right up.

As for the back of the legs, have you tried flipping out the little grey pegs that tab the two halves of the leg together? There's still going to be a slight gap but that's probably because the pegs are too short to really have a secure connection.

That's what I thought with the insignias and have always thought that but someone mentioned that Jreams 3D printed insignia did not look toon which then confused me a bit, maybe I read it wrong.

I've already pulled the screws and had the claw assembly off to check the battery and the tension on the screws has no effect on the ratchet. The piece that the claw fastens too actually has a bit of movement all around so there is no binding just thratchet is rather tight so the arm has to come apart to get to it.

The leg issue actually closes right up with slight pressure so I know it can go. I do have the pieces flipped out with the pegs but they dont grip tight enough to keep it all closed completely. My guess is one of two things: either all the parts that swing and fold into each other are creating a tolerance issue, or there are two alignment tabs that the halves of the legs close on that could also be creating resistance. I'll have to spend some time with it.

Did you manage to open the arm on yours to reverse where that mount was? Mine is the same and i thought i would have to do the same but then notice it has to be that way to keep the orientation of the doors on the same side when the arms make the rocket and i wanted it like that so I decided to leave it alone.

Another funny thing, my wife for the first time asked me how much my TF's cost. Specifically these two, it wasn't in a suspicious "HOW MUCH DID YOU SPEND ON THESE !?!?" kind of way fortunately. I fudged quite a bit for Constructor, but getting to hoestly say that the biggest TF out there was only $180 put me in the clear for everything else :D

That’s just part of the reason why I switched to Gabe. But don’t you dare say that to the hardcore Fansboys! Although I do like TG Alt mode much better

Yeah I managed to take apart the arm to reverse the joint. Not sure what you mean by keeping the door on the same side? The rocket mode is still the same as it was before since the pegs are still in the same positions. The only thing I did was flip around the grey part of the arm that gets pushed in for rocket mode.

If you open the doors on both arms while they are together are the doors on the same side now?

    About the insignias.

This is the cartoon and the normal.
It's less about the background, although cartoon usually has none and toy has silver or white, and more about the shape actually being different.

I never knew shape was a thing rather sloppy inconsistencies in the drawing cuz you gotta admit, almost no two autobot symbols ever look alike due to the artwork. I always figured the insignias were exactly the same or intended to be that way just plain red for toon (unless on a red character) and with background/border for toy. Honestly, with the bigger one in your post, I didn't know that was a thing until I bought the latest pack of decals. This is what I've been looking for and I've seen a 278 piece set on ebay that has this style with clear back so you just see the red symbol but more than half the decals are useless to me, moreso if the sizes dont work either since the cheapest it sells for is $41

You're absolutely right. My bad. That is a red bay insignia.
Here is a G1, g1 box art, and bay. But to the person who said no two are the same, I will have to disagree. The toy labels were pretty consistent in looking like the ones in the upper left below. 16080045035924973313417414171805.png

From the Transformers Wiki, shots of the versions in contention.
    autobots.jpg
I see the difference between the Bay-logo with the angry eyes. But the Toon versus Toy debate has always struck me as more minor. Yes, the G1 cartoon did have a slightly "fatter head" up top, the eyes are a little smaller, and the white spaces between the red chunks are a little wider. But to be honest I don't notice it that much, the G1 cartoon was never very consistent, and I always need to go back to an image to even try to figure out which is which.

I've got a jream Autobot symbol on my brand new Omega Supreme. It looks a lot like either #1 or #3 above. I guess I never asked which it was intended to be when I bought mine.

If you ever get cartoon sloppy stickers from toyhax, you will be able to spot the difference forever after that.

Jreams looks like #1 the standard autobot logo. Nomolos, I meant no two looked alike drawn on the characters in the cartoon. Pull up 20 different screen shots of Omega and you'll have 20 different autobot symbols. Aside from the obvious differences in the symbols, the biggest deal for me is background/border or not depending the bot I'm applying decals to. I didn't even realize I bought those bay style stickers til they arrived. Also, I went back and looked at bababobo's items on ebay and he has that set all split up so I'm gonna pick just what I want in what he calls hollow which is no background. His biggest are like 1.75"

I still wish jream made cartoon insignias for this toy. The one I have is great, but I like the cartoon one (badly drawn) better.

That makes more sense when specifying the toon version. Jream has made and listed more insignias on ebay for anyone interested. Nomolos mentioned that toyhax has the "sloppy art/toon" decals. I quickly took a look to see what they looked like but couldn't find them.
