Realy?!!! More articulation?! More screen accurate designs?!! Well Lenny the Engineer...You Failed!!!!! And Failed Miserably! Marvel Legends don't feel like complete shit when you remove them from the package, And they have way more articulation! The scale is all wrong, the figure designs just look completely off! And the Mainline figures have much better articulation than those R.E.D. figures! Do your fucking homework, and stop taking creative liberty's or R.E.D. is going to stand for the "Real Economic Disaster" line! Here's an idea, scrap the R.E.D. altogether, and do an Action Master Line! Just my :2c:

Anywhere in these notes explain why they decided to give Cheetor the ugliest, least show-accurate head possible?

Interesting on the pvc vs abs choice. For me there are a few things I’d love to see done differently before diving in on the line like I’d love to, but that ‘even more rubbery than marvel legends’ feel is the biggest bug beardor me. And a real shame to see the ab crunch dropped from prime and soundwave, as other than both axis ankle articulation, the generations versions have pretty much equal articulation. And I’d say the other area where non transforming transformers can excel at is ‘stability’ - it’s not that common for a generations bit to have no transformation bits that pop off or untab as you move them around, to the detriment of the play factor.

is cheetor out yet? He looks like the best of the first batch.

Oh wow, you're serious! Fair enough, I could point out 'Transformers' is the brand, that the race of often (but not always) transforming robots are technically called Cybertronians, that both the fiction and toy line have established that 'Transformers' do not have to transform etc etc... but its not worth the back and forth.

For clarity's sake, I wasn't agreeing that "People are idiots if Transformers figures are always supposed to transform", that's a pretty inflammatory statement, if you or anyone else don't get on with non-transforming Transformers that's your prerogative and it doesn't make you an idiot. However I am agreeing that "Non-Transformable Transformers figures were around since G1."... because they were. Action Masters are (G1) Transformers.

Nah, you get me... I agree 100%.

Brand is a brand, like "my little prime"... still not a Transformer, but still inclusive.

We're on the same page... I agree with you on other threads too.

But an actionmasters figure with the designation of "Transformers" in the same as a POP figure is still acceptable as the same... Is laughable at best.

Name brand deteriorates the desired designation.

Again, we are on the same page. :thumb

Who wants these? They are shelf warming. I would like to see the research they did. They should have been bigger and to scale with GI Joe classified at least. I can't bring myself to buy these.

The mainline Transformers already focus on robot mode to the detriment of alt mode. As an alt mode person, I'd love it if RED gave great bot modes, and Transformers gave great alt modes.

I was hoping for a line that scrapped alt-mode kibble in favour of enhancing the robot mode.

But look at the box pic, and then the robot inside. I keep seeing those unpainted cablights on toy Optimus's chest. Or is there a subtle shade of orange I'm not seeing?

I guess they could explain it away as being 'G1 accurate', despite the artwork on the box but I found it irritating after we've been getting these guys.

I really hope this line can get its shit together.

My big problem with this line is probably that it's like it's made by people who have never made a figure. I mean, come on Hasbro! You are the same guys who are PIONEERING 6 inch retail articulation with ML, BS, and GJ:C, but can't give Optimus or Soundwave an ab crunch? I wouldn't even mind the shitty materials if they even looked good!

The only thing this line has going for it is its variety in character selection. I hope we could get some Animated love as this line would probably lend itself to the show's style better than G1.

We\'ll if this line Decides to get scraped i can definitely see this Multiverse approach be carried over for the Next Generations Trilogy.

I personally don't think this line will make it to 2022, but I hope the ones we're set to get and have gotten turn out good, like Soundwave. (They better get Knockout right).

I agree 100%. I love Prime and have almost every character they released, but over half of them have robot mode kibble that makes them look really off, especially without the use of 3rd party upgrades. I was over the moon when they announced Prime RED figures, and Arcee didn't disappoint. I really only utilize alt modes for storage, so I have absolutely no issues with only having the robot modes in this line if they make the rest look as good as Arcee. My only concern with Prime is all the size differences in the show may not be done in the line, Arcee is seemingly exactly 6 inches, but maybe they'll find a way to make some of the other characters taller. I can't wait for Knockout and I'm really hoping for a Bumblebee, Airachnid and Starscream down the line.

Has anyone picked up Arcee? I can't find a review anywhere. The G1 figures look like trash, but Arcee actually looks pretty good, though it's hard to tell with the low-res stock photos.

Welp, seems whoever got that feedback on Cheetor’s sculpt interpreted it in the worst possible way. “Add muscle tone to cheetah parts”, “adjust face sculpt to have cat like forms”... and then we got what we got. What a tragedy.

I'm guessing Hasbro saw what companies like 3A/Three Zero and Flame Toys were doing and killing it with their premium figures so they figured affordable versions would fill the void (kinda like what 3P masterpiece do) and I'm absolutely all for the idea of TF action figures, I just think these initial offerings are underwhelming. The Megatron looks like the best followed by the Arcee.
Their approach as to how to balance what eras to offer is where I think will make or break the line. They HAD to start with G1 Optimus and Megatron, but going forward I would limit 1 G1 character + 4-5 non G1 per wave BUT make the BAF the second G1 character. I know that the BAF is a practice many hate but make the releases attractive enough (maybe one dud) and it will survive. Especially is they lean heavily on unreleased designs like those from the IDW comics or the G1 Japanese continuity since long time fans are hungry for some of these and hopefully catch the eye of casual fans as well.
As cool as the Black Series were upon release even those (looking back) weren't the best compared to what is offered now (not to mention the quality of the licensed figures) so they had to up the quality, I feel the RED line will go through the same growing pains, however Hasbro's experience with BS and Legends should have given them enough insight into what fans and collectors want from a 6" line of figures.

For pure action figure display purposes, there are those fantastic Furai kits. They are more than twice as expensive as these, though. I am kind of interested in that Arcee. Simply because the design of the TFPrime Arcess is one of the best character designs, I think, in all of the different iterations of Transformers.

Hasbro has really been killing it these days.
Their 6 inch Marvel, Star Wars and Power Rangers are really good.

I had high hopes for this line.
The main line is the best in years so I thought "New Action Masters? Now is a good time."

    But here we are.
Are they show accurate, or are they not.
Sunbow? Comic? In the case of Cheetor and Arcee -what is the other frame of reference besides the show?
As the Split Lip points out, where was the inspiration of the Cheetor head?

The quality control is poor. I held a Prime in my hand and could clearly see two shades of red across his torso.
I'm glad I inspected the contents before I went to the register.

There doesn't seem to be any sense of scale, I expect Bumblebee will look Prime and Megatron eye to eye.
    There is no BAF (Build*A*Figure).

Upon which figures are you basing this observation?
