Tough trailer arrived from Chosen Prime

If is excellent - basically, picture any Fansproject/toys voyager-ish sized figure and that’s what this is. Sturdy -plastic, big chunky aesthetics. Transformation is very interesting - the scheme could probably be found in a movie optimus (long nose cab). Everything tabs securely, all the weapons have storage underneath

ratchets in the shoulder and hips, everything else is tight

the biggest question mark is the hip articulation since the flat panel “belly” blocks some rotation; however, u can unhook it so it swings forward for more clearance. Even with belly locked down, there is one “click” forward available, which still gives some dynamic posing

on par with any warbot or cross-dimension release

the color palette even comes in the same matte finish as all other FP/mt releases

    definitely buy this

    EDIT:
It’s actually a head taller than fully armored Revolver Core, so it might be fair to call this a modern leaderclass size. It’s certainly bigger than siege shockwave

That seems like such a weird choice to me. Of all the design elements to bring over from the original, "can't move his legs" really doesn't seem like a key attribute. Seems like an extra bit of wiggling with the design could have given him sufficient clearance to move his hips.

Wish they made a Big Truck Robo as well. Tough Trailer looks good!

Some random Gobots that are cobbling in from the random USPS delivery dates.

Slicks, Pow Wow, and Geeper Creeper

The blue suv is Geeper Creeper? I had that one as a kid, I didn't know it was a Gobot. I thought it was a knock-off

I don’t have the figure and maybe this is easier said than done, but it seems like they could have simply made his lower belly fold up enough to allow hip movement. I think a shorter gut would also look more aesthetically pleasing.

I was planning to get this but the restricted hip movement is a huge bummer. Even from early pics the belly has always visibly been in the way, but I had hoped he would have drop down joints or something to get around the obstruction. Sounds like a solid toy though and it looks killer so I haven’t written it off yet.

Yeah that lack of movement just turned this from a must buy to a skip this guy.

That still doesn't do it for me. Same reason why I hate the Earthrise Seekers. That waist flap irks the hell out of me.

Yeah, nowhere near acceptable. Action Toys are EXCELLENT with articulation solutions. They even gave their Combattler enough hip movement to allow him more than 90 degrees and nobody ever bothers giving Combattler articulation. It’s really peculiar to see them pull a “fuck it” with this figure. The fact the belly can be unlocked to allow the hips greater range helps, but I’m guessing he looks pretty funky doing that.

Yeah, the video reviews of Tough T really highlight how...archaic this guy is? The comparisons with Fansproject stuff seem apt, but that's not entirely a compliment, given how long ago those figures were released.

Expectations change and the bar gets raised. The world doesn't stand still while you take a million years to release your product.

oh dear god, Pow Wow looks like something someone hastily designed Friday afternoon five minutes before finishing for the week
