IIRC the term Geewunner was initially used just to satirically criticize the whole "new bad! old thing I like good!" But then people took the term and ran with it. So, now the meaning is completely lost and people just use it in any way they want. Technically the whiney fans that don't want Bayverse to end and like to endlessly shit on Bumblebee are being the "geewunners" of their own generation.

I feel like more arguments are started with preemptive strikes against elitist fans than there are rebuttals to actual elitist fans.

I remember I stopped watching Jobbythehong because literally every TF review where the movies were mentioned had him shitting on Bayverse fans out of nowhere. Not just the Bay movies, the fans themselves, and then he’d backpedal and say he’s only shitting on the whiny entitled fans despite them not being there to start shit since, y’know, it’s a video review and there’s no one to reply to yet until it’s published.

It’s like people throw shit in all directions and after everyone’s hit say “I wasn’t aiming for you, I was just preparing to have shit thrown back at me is all!” Like such circular, self-fulfilling-prophecy behaviour ever holds up under scrutiny.

How about we just not criticize people until they actually say something worth criticizing in discussions, not before?

I love how people say Bayformer has Badass action, when it is nothing but generic action popcorn movie while BB is action that feels more badass with BB attacking Shatter (or was it Dropkick?) mid-transformation, effectively attacking the weakness since he probably realized he can't win head-on.

Lorenzo can say whatever he wants but the decision rests with Paramount, with hadbro having some role in decision making but not enough to dictate which direction.
So far there’s a slew of mixed messages between Lorenzo (it’s a prequel! It’s a reboot! A return to bayhem!) and Hasbro (it’s a new storytelling universe!) at various cons and toy shows, but Paramount the studio which is putting up the budget, has not committed anything other than a “Revamp”...take from it what you will.
Revamp is the official word from the Hollywood reporter, deadline and Variety: the three trades that get direct sourcing from the studio. In fact 1 of these publication had referred to bumblebee as a spinoff as late as 2020.

Paramount wants Chinese viewers to pack out cinemas again like the 2010's because 2020 has fucked over basically every studio and they have a choice between a few bang or bust blockbusters or smaller films like the kind blumhouse make that either go onto make stacks or clog amazon prime. The choice isn't whats safe it's what will line execs pockets before the shit hits the fan.
