I made an original $129.99 preorder with The Chosen Prime with no money down and invoice upon receipt so it works out for me. I 100% doubt that will be the price now. I will never buy from TFSource EVER again for damn sure now.

 

Honestly the retailers should hold XTB to the original price. After all it's XTB that told them the price before.

 

Guess it's a good thing I got it paid off while I could. I just hope show.z doesn't screw me over.

 

My pre-order still says $122.99 at showz. They've been really good at price locking for ages now and honour most pre orders.

 

I do trust show.z, certainly a lot more than X-Transbots at this point.

 

I still trust xtb, I actually think they are putting too many gimmicks into their products. If the accessories and redesigns of the trailer are going to cost that much in production don't do it. If the electronics and cool remote are going to skyrocket your quintesson don't do it. Listening to fans and changing everything because of that feedback might be the most noble and costly thing xtb have done. Put out your product, if people want it they buy it, if not move on. I started off looking at the price of that trailer today thinking 'omg your effing us over'. To then thinking 'wait how many times did that thing go back to the drawing board i.e changing the scale etc'. Virtus might not be far off the original price because they never actually changed it, so cost should be lower.

 

This isn't about them adding gimmicks. We knew about the base mode for years. What we didn't know is that all the promo pics showing fake parts, toy guns FOR the base mode, and extra faces would be sold separately for almost one and a half the price of Breakdown. I'm not TOO mad at the price of Dr. Egg. But they also didn't lie to us about it. So glad I went with fans Toys stunticons.

 

If showz did raise the price its bc xtb will force their hand most likely

Yeah but all that costs. That's the thing, and I think that the promises they made years ago seem to have gone out the window with the going back to the drawing board and backtracking so many times on this set. I'm not surprised at all today with the price when I look at it like that. Don't get me wrong, I think the price is absurd. But am I shocked by it, not really. Is what it is. I was only ever interested in keeping my xtb stunticons in bot mode, menasor is not an interesting combiner at all.

 

I mean, I think the terrorcons look way cooler than Abominus, but I don't want them to mess Abominus up when someone eventually does him.

 

There's no "if" about it and ShowZ has even removed the old pre-order price from current PO's. It's a 100% lock that price is going up. It's just a matter of how much. IMO Virtus' price is going to match Dr. Egg at $175.

 

We didn't know that they would be sold separately because @ibot (or whoever replies on facebook) said they were included.

If they don't honour the $125 price, I'll happily keep my Big Spring.

 

I already have the FT and MMC one. XTB will need to knock this one out of the park.

 

I passed up on Saltus (at $125) for Virtus so i'm really hoping they honor the price. Only time i've ever seen ShowZ change a locked in PO price was with Cang Toys Firmament. I had him PO'd originally at $119.99 (I think) and they later changed it without warning to $139.99. So it can happen. Question is whether it will in this case.

 

I'm betting this will be $180 to $200.

 

My stack at TFS is 130 and I'm hoping they'll keep it. If it's too high, I'm good with the MMC one. The vehicle mode is sweeter anyway.

 

Same for me, I'm preordered at TCP for the original price. If this goes 200 or more I'll be canceling and my Unique Toys Allen will do fine.

 

There's a seller on Ebay with whom I'm unfamiliar that still has the Virtus preorder price set at $123. They're not responsive so far to multiple messages to get an answer about whether or not the preorder price is final.

 

Not to dash any hopes, but unless its in your stack 100% paid, it doesn't lock the price. TW Orion knight was in my stack but not prepaid, and they jacked the price from 120 to 250 without so much as an email to let me know. If i wasn't randomly checking it I would have never seen it.
