Is this even more grim dark than first part? Anything wrong with a bit of saturation and light... Netflix red logo intensity pisses all over optimus... No fun allowed?.... Despite my nay saying - good to see them forging ahead though: I might not agree with their vision but it\'s interesting to see and I have my hopes for what might come after the serious-important-grim-story-magnum-opus..

So none of the animation models have changed to match the ER toyline, as well as character appearances like grapple, hoist, trailbreaker, smokescreen and sunstreaker. Which makes me think that the original Siege figures and whatever comes out for the Netflix Wal-Mart line are the only figures really attached to the show and everything else is really just meant to complement the SS86 line. It's like Hasbro tricked me into buying half of the SS86 line before it even came out. Well played Hasbro.

Guys they only talk slow because they are speaking Old Entish.

It takes a long time to say anything in Old Entish. And they never say anything unless it is worth taking a long time to say.

Idk. I already did for Siege. Was meh. Compared to Prime or Animated... This show leaves so much to be desired.

Everyone's talking about the slow dialogue (which for the record absolutely deserves to have the piss taken out of it and the "they did it to help the foreign dubs" excuse is terrible) but I find myself wondering how long they're going to linger on shots that really don't benefit from being lengthened (case in point: the scene where Prowl is sucked into a tornado and nearly dies while the camera cuts to the other Autobots standing around and watching for about ten seconds because ???) Also I don't mind the shape of Galvatron's helmet as its own thing, but for something that's clearly supposed to be slavishly G1 it falls flat. The relatively clean look of his character model sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the more battle-worn and G1 cartoon accurate Megatron.

More of the same and less of it good or even pleasing? I don’t even know. I see myself moving more and more away from the franchise. I haven’t liked a standard franchise since Prime and fully accept it even with its flaws. I think the show can stand very well on its VFX but falls short on several points. It clearly wants to imitate G1 but doesn’t want to pay for it and it clearly shows. Another area it seems to be lacking is it’s just not very well written. Sure it’s got some great one-liners but over all it’s not a great store or over compelling dialog. And with shows moving to streaming services and already being paid for by Netflix and the like you can’t really downvote it so there’s no real way to downvote the product. But I don’t want to downvote the toy product because by all accounts toys have gotten better.

I actually think Im going to like this... The quents are the creaters of the transformers again, seeing unicron makes me think that Galvatron is not physically there to start with?, almost seems like Megs is transformed into Galvatron?, if so then I like it as much if not more than past iterations.

Dude, you’re allowed to like whatever you want. Don’t let others opinions stop you from enjoying it. But I think they’re complaining because there’s a high chance the model of Galvatron they’re using in the show is exactly what the toy looks like, and the entire intent of the G1 part of the WFC Trilogy is to give slavishly accurate G1 designs. So it’s failing at that, and I think many people were really hoping for the Galvatron figure to be good, as even though the shows might be meh, the toys are generally amazing. I think that’s a big reason why people are complaining, but you are completely entitled to your own opinion, and it’s not bad at all to like something :)

I don't understand why anyone would think that, Arcee's character model in Siege looked almost nothing like the Earthrise toy.

I was pretty sure that it did? Eh, doesn’t matter, I haven’t watched Siege since it came out, so you’re probably correct. And I have finals coming up, so no time to revisit siege, although I’d probably only do that when Earthrise comes out.

I can guarantee you it does not.

I know, that's a bold statement of me, but it is painfully obvious Galvatron is a model made for the show first, without any toy to go off of. See: Bumblebee and Elita 1 from Siege and their Netflix toys. So obviously, embarrassingly inconsistent with the reused CAD files for the rest of the cast. Galvatron's model is plain, features basic shapes and geometry that operate under the mechanics of a CGI model rather than a toy, and teh fact that his helmet crown comes to actual points rather than blunt ends as a toy would is proof enough they made this model from scratch, or at leats without any sort of CAD file from a real toy.

Whoa, you certainly did your analysis. I’ll take your word for it, I was just making a generalization based on I saw while skimming the 15 or so pages

    It didn't.

Sorry, I'm not trying to harp on you, I'm just using your comment as a springboard to point out the hilariously poor quality of the CGI that they 1: had to use the toy models for most characters, right down to gaps and peg holes that logically shouldn't be there, and 2: the characters that lacked toy files to use weren't even made to match the aesthetic and design cues of the toy models, being under-detailed and lacking the toy-centric details like gaps or plausible articulation points.

It's just... really kind of pathetic when you think about it. There was no artistic vision behind this show whatsoever.

Yeah, I’m more in the camp of “this show was whatever, not trash, but not good”, but now that I see this my perspective on the matter has shifted for the worse. And don’t worry, you’re all good bro. In fact, thanks for showing me this, as I honestly wouldn’t have known this otherwise

Looking forward to a new show even when the voice acting and writing is this painful

Yeah, but some of that is on Hasbro. Bumblebee's show model was clearly based on the original promo art of Bee that was shown off around the launch of Earthrise, meaning originally that's what a WFC Bumblebee toy would look like. But instead Hasbro must have secured their VW license and decided to make the Bumblebee they did instead, not worried if it no longer matched the animation or not. And for Elita, inevitably it was Hasbro's decision to make her half out of reused Arcee parts for the "close enough" look rather than spend the extra budget dollars to make it exact.

Even Galvatron, we know there's one in development, but if it isn't a match for the CGI model then clearly Hasbro just wasn't interested in sharing the CAD file for that one. So it's less an issue of artistic vision than just making told to make show to promote the toys but only being able to make it work with what you are given.

No kidding. Thanks for helping us realize that we should be disliking something. Next time I need to hate something that I previously enjoyed, I'll look for your insight .

"I know you like this. But this is why you shouldn't."

Smh. So freakin pathetic this board is at times. Wish I could say it was better before. But transformer "fans" truly are the worst. Feel bad for the folks who work on the content and toys.

Fortunately there is a lot of people outside of the "fabdom" that really enjoyed this show. Those people that don't pay attention to stupid crap like bolts on the character models.
