Back then in the mid late 1990s from 1995 to 1998 one class i hated was Math. whether it was pre algebra II or Algebra i was not smart when it came to stuff like the whole X and Y graph stuff you had to input in the calculators. plus math problems involving the circumference etc. then frustrating annoying stuff like 4 +(x2-a) + whatever number or stuff like this. xa * xb = xa-b I hated that crap bac then even doing math problems for the shapes too. never liked those at all.
I failed grade 9 math. I was in an academic course and just straight up failed it, so I had no choice but to do summer school. Better yet, I passed summer school with exactly 50%. There were a lot of things I was apathetic to in high school that I'm a lot more interested in now like sciences and political science, but I've still been so not into learning mathematics now that I'm through with it that I'm surprised you can even recall those types of equations. What even is the square root of x? What does "the square root" of something even mean? I don't fucking know, that's for sure.
my Senior year back then, i got my way and managed to take the school annual class instead of retaking Algebra. Had a much better time by taking the Annual book class which was alot easier and fun to do.
Oh boy, I hate math too. I had to get a tutor in HS because it just wasn't sticking. I went into what everyone called r***** math classes. I know, f*cked up term. In college I managed to get by but it sucked and I hated every single math credit I had to get. Oddly I got stuck in employment fields where I have to use it frequently. Calculators though.
I was decent in math classes, not the best. First things, first. Yes. Like everything you were told to learn in high school...not everything will be used again in the future. But for the person sitting next to you, it might be that small piece of inspiration to get onto a path for a career. High school classes are pretty much just a foundation for the more complex things to learn in university or college or trade school. Even the social interaction aspect that no one is graded on. As for math, it's meant for you to see problems in a different way than words and tries to get you to break problems down to it's simplistic form, or to rearrange a problem so that it can be solved. Science classes did the same, except for me which was a little harder. But then again, not everyone is created equal, and yes you may have difficulty with numbers, but I'm going to assume you were a lot better at solving word problems?
The math teacher I had in my last two years of High school was young, and really hot. Like extra thicc hot. Young teenage me could never pay attention, which meant that she would take the time to give me attention directly. I was at the front of the class and was a foot and basically eye level(we had weird desks) with her ass every time she used the whiteboard. Sometimes when she would come to help me at my desk and would kneel down on knees, letting her boobs rest on the desk which literally put her cleavage right in my face. I thought I was going to go insane sometimes it was too much to handle. I don’t think it was until about the last quarter of my Senior year when she figured out why young, teenage Purple had such a hard time focusing in class. She was different after that. Needless to say I don’t remember much about math from those two years, but I was also a history and writing student anyways.
It's been 30 years now, but I loved math class. I was damn good at it, and got great grades, with little effort. That is until I decided to jump to pre-calc senior year. Holy cow! Did that kick my ass into the next era! Yikes! I did pass, barely. The best part about the class was the cute girl that sat by me. I was too damn shy to talk to her, but she was cute as heck, with a figure that could knock any guy out.
