I made a pre-order at Amazon.com in September for the Ratchet and Lifeline set. I\'m in the U.K, but I tried it and my order was accepted! I\'ve had 3 mails since then advising me on delivery dates. But 2 days ago I got an email saying I needed to revise my payment method within 3 days or the order will be canceled. I have added, checked and rechecked my current debit card details, but I just keep being told there is a problem, and the payment isn\'t taking. Customer service said to check with my bank, but I even tried my sister\'s debit card and that gives the same issue. There is no reason for both cards to be declined and I can\'t shake the feeling this \'Payment problem\' is just jargon for \'We can\'t give you this order but the system doesn\'t know why\'.
I guess I should call them directly, but being in the U.K do I really want to spend money calling America? Is this really a problem with my payment details?

 

Got mine yesterday, and also found Netflix Soundwave my first try looking for him. So it was a pretty great Friday all around (Also the Mandalorian, am I right?)

Man does Lifeline feel cheap tho... :/

 

I understand the argument for exclusives et Al, and I know it's the retailers that orchestrate them, but Hasbro really needs to make these things timed. Walmart can't get their shit together and cancels your orders, Amazon takes more orders than they can fulfill, and Target just doesn't even exist in my part of the world. You want this incompetence to end? Give these places a 6months head start then let shops who know how to honour and actually work their pre-order system get into it. If specialty shops are still eating your lunch 6 months after the fact then maybe you'll look into your shitty system

 

I made multiple orders because of this very thing. 1 came in and another was supposed to be delivered last week. Stuck in the same situation.

 

Agree with you but this isn't the first time this happened. Not to Transformers but to Bandai's Macross. Sure it ain't the big retailers like Amazon, Walmart etc. The usual known JP online stores that promis but can't deliver the Valkyrie weapons pack etc.

This. They create an almost useless Pulse (exclusives that get released last over others ( I PO the Pit of Judgement waaaaaaaaay before it was officially offered at Pulse. Yup! What da EF Hasbro?

Lifeline is what ER Arcee should have been. Painted face, extra gray stripe on her side in car mode. And glossy. My opinion that is as your's equal to mine.

Did you assemble the hips?

 

I took the waist apart, painted that and the hips separately.

 

I wish a third party company would at least give us red hands that would be an easy thing to do for most people as the hands just slide out.

I wonder if it is like airlines that overbook flights. They know x number of people cancel on average, so they figure they can just sell some fraction of x more tickets than the flight can hold. On occasion they overbook, and offer someone free airfare for a later flight.

In this case, I'm guessing that 1) they underestimated the growth of the collector's market this year, and 2) not as many people cancelled their preorders as they expected.

How did you make the stickers? They look fantastic.
Any issues getting them to lay flat over the greebly shoulders?

 

If that is the case. Would it not be wiser for Amazon or anyone in their position to only preorder what is available? If they receive hundreds of cancelled preorders just sell them as you would sell any other item off the shelf.

The way Amazon did this just made I’m guessing hundreds, if not thousands, of people upset with both Amazon and Hasbro. No one is directly speaking up from either side.

Once an airplane takes off, you can not add another passenger. Once a preorder is done regular orders can proceed.

 

Exactly. More cancelled pre orders opening up later just drives more traffic to the site. The airplane analogy doesn’t make since here since there isn’t a limited amount of time to sell the product like there is to sell the flight.

 

I am not saying it is what they are doing. I am just trying to figure out why they would oversell a product on preorder. And I agree if this is what they are doing it (and I'm not saying it is) is a bad idea. A person either makes a flight or does not. A person who decides they don't want a preordered toy likely knows they can flip the exclusive on ebay for a profit, so there is little incentive for people to cancel. So in the end I doubt this is why they are doing it, but I've heard of companies making worse decisions.

 

So this was unexpected........


No updates since it entered the Country Friday morning, and it just appears on my doorstep this evening.

Considering they "lost" my Coneheads AND cancelled Prowl/Haaad on me without warning I think I deserved this one.

Commiserations to those Amazon have screwed over, I hope some sort of restitution is possible from these clowns.
