Both of these figures are so good and Bumblebee looks great alongside Prime. PicsArt_12-05-05.05.43.jpg PicsArt_12-05-05.02.23.jpg

At least Elita-1 arrived from Smyths, so today wasn't a complete write-off. Gave her some more suitable armaments to boot...

Masterforce stopped trading, I think it was too much hassle and too little profit for the owner (Morgan?) Now I believe it's him running the site Gear4geeks.

Popped into Barnsley Smyths today doing some Xmas shopping, no bees but lots of Runamucks - I nearly bought one but he just didn’t grab me like some other ER stuff has so he went back on the shelf (look at that for discipline!)

Aaaah. This morning I shot the 2nd time at the range since Lockdown 2!

    Man that's a clunky sentence.

Anyway it's a big deal because the bow had a big upgrade juuust before Lockdown 2 started. I got shorter limbs (66inch down from 70inch), which effectively adds 1lb per inch lost. So even though the new limbs say they're the same (32lb) I measured the actual weight on my fingers at full draw, which is just over 34lbs. Also the bow had new horizontal stabilisers added, so it's now a full Olympic setup!

Anyway when things change on a bow, even the smallest things it usually takes time to get accustomed to it. But I've been training during Lockdown 2 (exercises with the bow to strengthen my bow muscles and shooting in the garage to maintain form) so coming back into the range wouldn't be so difficult.

As I am now a committee member at the club (the League Officer) this means I should shoot in any leagues I'm setting up for people right? Even under Tier 2 conditions. Y'know. Set an example.

So even though I'm still not 100% comfortable with the bow I shot a Portsmouth (60 arrows at a 60cm target at 20yds) under full competition conditions. Which basically means straight into scoring after 6 shots (2 ends of 3 shots), so no practicing or bow adjustment beforehand!

    Screenshot_20201205-111607.jpg

541/600! Got my 9 point average back! Plus this is a competition personal best, and not far off my practice PB of 546. Most of the shots are in the gold! So yeah, very pleased how it went today. On Tuesday (next booked session) I will shoot my first competition Worcester, which are 5 arrow rounds at a completely different target. This one is also fonna count towards a Middlesex postal League...

As to robots...? Oh yeah I (finally) opened SS DotM Soundwave and aside from 2 problems (his head doesn't clear the chest very well on transformation and the two rotating chest pieces pop off too easily) I really like him.

I also popped into Smyths yesterday to pick up a white Halo Spartan Mk VII for that rediculous Warthog.

Oho, didn’t know Smyths had the 3.75 inch Halo stuff. Think I might get myself a marine...

Oh yes, World of Halo. Very nice and perfectly scaled at 1:18. So the Jadatoys 14 inch Warthog I bought 8 years ago (which is itself perfectly scaled at 1:18) is absolutely perfect with these new figures.

    16071935018988629127778579756173.jpg

There is only 1:18 Halo stuff out now, no 6inch stuff yet. The line includes a Master Chief, Mk VII Spartan, UNSC Trooper, Jackal Sniper, Mongoose (with Master Chief) and Warthog (with Master Chief). Bear in mind that the World of Halo Warthog looks smaller than 'true' 1:18 (which would drive me nuts) but their Mongoose looks perfect. Go figure eh?

Thanks pal, I have a feeling I'm going to need it! Just wish there was less of this joyless 'bot hunting that's become the norm this year!

    That's an admirably calm response!

    ..
Been on holiday this week, which usually means playing around with different art approaches. Was pen and ink this week, and in the course of it I revisited/re-appreciated some transformers stuff. So have a hefty Saturday evening transformers image dump:

    1985-diaclone-catalog-page-13-14.jpg 1985-diaclone-catalog-page-15-16.jpg d white on twitter Br_LU3MIMAANFnS.jpg D WhiteBtMl3GdCIAAbZ4x.jpg IMG_3134 .jpg IMG_6552.JPG IMG_8655.JPG John stokes 07.jpg john stokes10.png p16 .jpg pages 30 and 31 from The Transformers #73 by Alan Kupperberg.jpg Pete knifton uk269p10.jpg Pete knifton uk281p10.jpg Staz 08.jpg Staz uk279p10.jpg TFTM-RedAlertDown.jpg tumblr_n7kcwkEJMw1qmwwklo1_1280.jpg Ban Magami Fullthrottle_prowl.jpg dino-vs-const-04.jpg Ep07.jpg Simon coleby uk277p12.jpg storyboard-springer.jpg

The Pete Knifton and John Stokes uk classics stuff is super nice. Not sure I'd really noticed how nice before. And clunky 80s toy based art will always be close to my heart.

@tikgnat Between the Bow, the Sai, the Nunchuks and the martial arts....you would appear to have a promising career as a vigilante ahead of you..! :p

What do you guys think, should I cancel zavvi runabout and get one off ebay for £40 from the states?

Not sure I trust zavvi to actually deliver.

I checked eBay and nothing I can see. Might be worthwhile dropping him a line. Although he'll see me @ him so might comment himself.

You can see his images in the XTB Dr. Egg thread if you search his posts there
