Here we have the next gimmick of the WFC trilogy in Kingdom.Following the Weaponizers and Modulars we now have Fossilizers. Bones,bones bones are what its all about. Very Skelton warriors and museum vibes with the first Paleotrex. He or she? Is a good first start. Nice paint and tight parts nothing loose or flimsy. A classic T-rex skeleton that transformers into a horrific looking bot. Its a Predacon like it's core class not a Fossilizer Vertebreak. I really dig the gimmick but will not be buying multiples of them. I will buy ALL they make of these though.New characters made of bones is a win win for me even without the bone weapon/armor. Very metal if that's your thing.A very fun and unique toy you will either love or hate. I love it and like mistransforming its neck and back legs my way vs official from time to time. Part of the fun with these is doing what and how you want to do it.I highly recommend this one .

 

I'm looking forward to Paleotrex coming out.

I may be the last horse to reach the finish line, but I just realized that his skull face is based on the original Ultra-class Optimus Primal's skull-headed mace. That's neat.

 

Can't wait to grab this and give my Snapdragon a T-Rex head weapon!

 

Does she need to be taken apart to transform like the Weaponizers and Modulators, or can she go directly from dino-skeleton to bot?

 

I find it odd that all the Fossilizers that have been released/revealed so far are Predacons. No Maximal Fossilizers whatsoever

I don’t suppose either Quintesson-controlled Optimus in “Dark Awakening” or TF Prime Cliffjumper revived as a Terrorcon in “Darkness Rising Part 2” count?

 

they do not, Cliffjumper was a mindless monster that was put down, and Optimus killed himself to stop the quintessons going with the trope Redemption equals death, and Dinobot II near the end of Beast Wars doesnt count either

 

These guys seem fun, but I'm very likely going to pass on all of them. I'm just too overwhelmed with interested product right now and some things are going to be passed on.

Vertebreak is a pred but not officially a Fossilizer. Im sure one of the Fossilizers will be a maximal. Maybe sabertooth tiger if they do it seen on the Kingdom art on Primal

Vertebreak, Ractonite, and Paleotrex are all Predacons. The leaked Wingfinger and Dracodon, we don’t know.

 

My Paleotrex (still a stupid name) arrived this morning.

The skeleton mode is all kinds of win, even with the usual pronated wrist problem. Could toys/media stop giving poor dinosaurs broken wrists, please?!

There are enough swivels & hinges in the legs to get quite a few poses, but the lack of a neck or head swivel severely limits what stances Rexy can pull off....unless you mis-transform him, then a neck swivel can be fudged.



Robot mode is all kinds of gangly, creepy mess (in a good way). Pulls off some great retro Beast Wars vibes, even though you have to pull everything off to transform him.



G1 Megatron? BW Megatron? WHY NOT BOTH?!

 

I love everything about this concept. It really feels like something that could had been done back in Beast Wars.

 

I wonder if these guys would work with figures from either Unicron Trilogy and/or Prime Wars?

 

Unicron Trilogy: depends on the figure, that was before 5mm pegs became standard, but most of the UT guys hands are probably 5mm.
Prime Wars: definitely use the 5mm ports, but probably don't have as many on their bodies as the SIEGE/ER/KINGDOM toys do. But will be able to peg on where there are holes.

 

Maximal Triceradon could change into a triceratops carcass.
