So, I guess my plan is to purchase this 1st release trailer whenever it becomes available so that I can build a complete combiner. Then, slowly swap out for the Youth versions hoping that XTB does indeed complete that version.

 

I agree so massively with every single word of this.

These companies are now bringing what I always wanted ever since I was a kid - a sense of consistent alt mode scale. I LOVE that thanks to XTB I now have a Breakdown the same size as Sideswipe - and that thanks to FansToys, I have an Air Raid that matches Starscream.

I mean I’d actually love a bigger Bumblebee and the rest of the minibots too so that all the cars look roughly like they belong in the same car park, but I’m very happy with what we have.

If you look a few posts further back, you'll see pictures I posted from Facebook, where in reply to comments about the new LED pictures, XTB confirm that he is 50cm tall. He will scale perfectly well with Kronos/Superitron, Armageddon/Bruticon and Constructor.

 

seems like the height thing is brought up at least twice a week...

 

Hasbro never claimed their figures were in scale with each other until Studio Series and the WfC Trilogy.

Have they stayed 100% accurate with the scale chart for those lines? If they've deviated, have collectors called them heretics?
'cuz, I've gotta say, I've noticed that WFC:T figures sure don't scale well looking just at their alt modes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

Bot mode scale only; Transformers and alt mode scale is still a losing proposition.

I haven't checked the G1 scale charts religiously (and I don't really care enough about the Bayverse to check the Studio Series), but so far they seem to be doing a pretty decent job. Maybe Sky Lynx could be bigger and maybe Jetfire/Skyfire is too big. I suppose the Titans are up for debate, too. And I guess when Kingdom starts hitting the Beast Wars characters are too big compared to the G1 characters (but in-scale with other Beast Wars characters in the line). But in WfC Prime and Megatron are a little taller than the Seekers, Soundwave, Shockwave, and Grapple, who are a little taller than Ironhide, Ratchet, Hoist, and Trailbreaker, who are taller than the carbots, who are taller than Cliffjumper and Bee (who are, despite being Deluxes, the same size as the Thrilling 30/Prime Wars Legends-class guys).

When the scale is off I have no idea what people say. I'm not crazy enough to hang out on the part of the boards for the official toys.

Nah, it was cleaned up. The usual - some dumb-dumb can't help but veer into an attempt to belittle others in a way that's against the rules, a couple people shut that person down, then it gets expunged. You didn't miss much.
