This is all super useful! I've always wondered about it but I'm terrible with this sort of thing, so I appreciate all the insight.

Also looks like Pulse just charged me for Maverick and Super Megatron, so I'm expecting those to ship out soon.

 

I had called earlier in the day and had them hold one. When I went to pick it up, I checked the aisle and there were none there. I'm guessing they hadn't even been put out.

 

Have to be isolated here for a bit, hopefully for just a day or two (waiting on results), but we'll see...stay safe out there folks.

Also...guess I can eat the words I posted back on Sunday about no Megatrons in "Kingdom" with today's reveal.

At least it's a smaller scale Megatron, but will it shelf warm like its bigger counterparts are?

 

I’m guessing he’ll sell like any of the mini-G1 guys. I guess we’ll see how many people want to start a new scale.

BTW, you’re a North Metro guy, right? I was stalking that area for the new Netflix voyagers (no joy) but I did see RED Series figures at Andover WM. This was about 9:30 this AM. Totally forgot to post. If anyone’s looking, there was 1 Megatron, 2 Primes, and 2 Soundwaves. Left them all there.

 

I have the Newage Legends scale Megatron and he's probably one of the best small scale Megs there ever will be as he's like a mini version of the Masterpiece toy, but the Kingdom one will be a great alternative for people wanting a small scale Megs to go with Prime.

Fortunately, I have no interest in the RED line of figures. I bought an Optimus, but that was to give my Earthrise Prime a better G1 looking gun as he can hold it pretty well. I am a bit annoyed to find out the Netflix Soundwave is the short packed figure between him and Optimus, but is it any surprise with Hasbro? Shortpacking the figures people might want a bit more is their specialty.

 

Can we get a list of targets you've been to in the last 2 weeks? Kidding, stay safe dude! I had a couple tests this year, but it's because what happens when you quit smoking looks the same as what happens when you have covid, so I know the anxiety!

Also I kinda like the small Megatron.

Man, the RED figures are like.. not the worst idea every, but they feel like they're made out of hard rubber and the aesthetic and detailing is a definite step down from Generations.

Also I'm guessing soundwave is shortpacked since little kids like stuff that transformers into trucks more than stuff that transforms into a box. Unless you're my nephew, who's current favorite TF is the one that turns into corn from botbots. Which he named Soundwave. Kid's going places.

 

So tomorrow should be interesting. Fully expect Dinobot to go quickly once preorders go live.

 

Where do you all do your preordering? Do you double up at Pulse and then somewhere else?

 

I'll go for Pulse and then maybe Amazon. I've had good luck with Pulse this far so haven't really felt the need to double up before.

Amazon has the advantage with their preorder price match, but Pulse has yet to let me down on a PO.

 

Pulse might ship slower, but like T-hybrid said, they're reliable. I don't really like Amazon, but w/ER wave 2 and 3 they helped a ton. I still mostly just hunt in retail for retail figures. Obviously less at the moment. XD



...why did only wave 1 of kingdom have $23 deluxes? Not that I'm complaining.

 

I preordered Dinobot and Inferno on Target along with a couple of other figures I'm picking up in-store today using the 10% off coupon. I didn't feel the need to preorder elsewhere even though Target isn't the most reliable on preorders because I feel like these won't be that hard to find when they release. I'll just lock in the discount now and see what happens.

Yup. I've been using them almost exclusively since they launched, only really deviating when they *don't* put something on preorder. The one time I didn't (ER Wave 2) I got burned by Target and had to bail myself out at Amazon (Airwave) and Walmart (Overload).

It's probably why I'm fine re-upping Premium once they finally decide to charge me for it. The free shipping is a perk I've got elsewhere, but you can't put a price on piece of mind.

 

Still haven't found an Overload replacement for my canceled Target order. Anyone in the north metro (preferrably Blaine/Andover/Coon Rapids area) spotted one recently?

 

You're best bet would be Walmart/Target (in-store) as I'm seeing Scavengers (which are his casemate).

Since I know people nearby are still hunting I can certainly be more proactive and buy them if I see them. I live in Eagan, so that gives you an idea as to my range if I we end up needing to do a hand-off.

But I'm also guessing the fact they've become so rare on such short notice means the usual suspects are scooping them up to scalp later.

 

Yep I check any time I'm at Target or Walmart, but haven't gone specifically hunting for him. I'm trying to avoid that, especially given current circumstances. Hopefully I'll run across one eventually.

I should add, after seeing people's comments in the last few days regarding Amazon, Pulse is the only site that consistently sends my stuff in BOXES and not either folded up in bubble envelopes or with SOIC labels on the product itself.

man at this point, it's probably worth the time and gas just to drive down to Shakopee target and snag one. He's been there consistently since the beginning of November.

Not of late. Edina target seemed to be doing the best for those guys over here.

Also, Walmart says Soundwave is back on for 12/15 so... okay cool sure.

Meanwhile, in the case of things that are actually happening, Maverick will be here saturday and SuperMegs just shipped! ...And will also apparently be here saturday?

::EDIT:: So I ended up going for that MPM Megs pictured above because eh, why not, if it's a KO it's fine and.... I think it's actually legit? He's got the deco and die cast of the legit one, and the KO thread isn't familiar with any other MPM Megs KO's out there. I still doubt it, but... *SHRUG???* (And then I find out he's going for like 40 on ebay. MUST be a KO)
