Heh. a couple years ago people were complaining that there wasn't much happening between big releases, just powered/maneuver suits. Now if you're a completionist your wallet is definitely going to be hurting. The Triverse and Verse-Riser figures all seem to be really well received, plus the verseriser bullet core suit repaints, so everyone can pick and choose from (I think four now?) different unified color schemes. I like that the variety of color schemes gives you options. Want them in the same colors as the original figures? Done. Want them all in military greens? Sort of possible. Red and white? Getting there. "Hero colors" of blue and red? check. Black and red "destroyer" colors? Check. What's really surprising to me is that even with the repaints so far, nearly everything is selling out quickly. Well, nearly all the Diaclone mecha, at least. The Waruder stuff seems to linger.
Let's not forget some of the outrageous after-market prices here. The Versers really aren't $300 figures, but man, some listings are frighteningly close to that.
Yeah, i got the idea behind the recolors, but let's face it: the main purpose is to sell as much as possible with the minor effort. I mean, i would love to be able to choose between different colors schemes to build an army that looks uniform, if i didn't waste most of my budget on the first releases (that's why i'll never get a black bp). But let's be honest, so many recolors are useless. Nice, but useless. Also, the tridasher was red and blue also at its first release. I don't have the time to check if the new one is a minor recolor or if it's exactly the same, but if it's the same this probably means we are gonna see at least two more recolors: a white one (so you can have all the group with the original trijeter colors) and a green one (because you can't leave the military tridigger alone). Oh, about vehicles and bases... This is a war against an alien species and some human mechas are shown fighting in space or on the moon in some pictures and videos, like the buffalo and the diabattles cosmo. I can't just believe that in this situation the human army doesn't have spaceships to carry large troops on alien planets with preventive invasion purposes, but we keep seeing just robots that turn into land vehicles or planes clearly unable to perform interstellar travel. WHERE THE HELL ARE THE SPACE CARGOS AND CRUISERS
Completely with you on that but the battle convoy developer interview on dengeki hobby did say there was something new for the waruders on the horizon.
Hope it's not a recolor of gigantor that matches the new soldier color scheme... I wouldn't hate a bot that's the same size of the soldier type and turns into a decent dinosaur, kinda like a smaller gigantor, but i don't think that's going to happen so soon
I don't usually go for repaints but Cosmo versions of the Triverse figures would be very interesting to me.
The next thing for the Waruders is very likely to be a Giganter in type 2 colors based on recent trends, I do hope we get more new molds for the Waruders, desperately need more diverse enemy mecha. I am hopeful that soon after Battle Convoy is released and with great reception, they move ahead with a Powered Convoy and more base type releases although BC repaints seem inevitable, such as a Black Convoy which would likely be some kind of exclusive.
Damn. I knew it. Btw, i still hope to get some dinobots sooner or later. Even a diaclone predaking wouldn't be a bad idea... But that's not gonna happen.
These new color releases really aren’t that surprising are they? All the previous releases have had multiple colors (except gigantor so far), including big powered which had 3 releases and Diabattles which had four different color schemes and a v2. The triverse figures are just the most recent Dianaut releases, so it makes sense to repaint them, especially since swappable parts are a key part of the gimmick. There’s only three color ways of each so far, this isn’t new. we’ll undoubtedly get something new soon enough. Verse riser sets are coming out and warudaros soldier just released. Battle convoy is coming soon. The designer mentioned bases and how other designs were pushed back due to covid affecting scheduling. I genuinely don’t understand how we can be saying that they’re out of ideas.
Oh, good. As a reptile breeder, i know how important is to feed your reptiles with different species of bugs. It keeps them healthy. And i'm already going out of cockroaches in my walls since i got my gigantor yesterday. That lizard eats a lot.
Them releasing repaints is nothing new yes, it's the shear number of repaints that's been announced one after the other that's the issue. Vers Riser 03 was DA-60, with the sole exception of DA-65 Battle Convoy everything after that has been a repaint and we're now up to DA-72.
There’s not been any more repaints than have been released in the past, that’s my point. If it feels like more repaints than normal it’s likely just because the schedule had to change due to covid, which the designer stated in that interview a month or so back (and probably also due to the sheer number of new releases, earlier we only had diabattles and some power suits, and they all got repainted immediately. Now we are getting something like two releases a month. That kind of schedule adds up fast.)
Diawhat the * happened to those guys, looks like they've been diacrushed together by a giant electro-diamagnet. Also, diaclorgy?
Nice new color schemes. Phoned repaints. Super hard pass. Call me when you have something new, takara...
Does anyone here have the Perfect Grade Strike Gundam and a Dianaut? Im trying to confirm if a Dianaut can fit in its cockpit or not, I've asked in alot of different places but I guess it's rare for a person to have PG Gundam and Diaclone. I have a few PG myself and only 1 had suitable cockpit, the incomplete RX-78 GP01 you see has been modified to fit a 1/60 pilot. The PG Gundam are 1/60 scale however the cockpits and pilots are typically MUCH smaller than 1/60. Before I buy more PG, I'd really like to confirm it can fit a Dianaut, I appreciate any aid.
