While trying to pre-order Kingdom figures via BBTS, a friend of mine reported that he had been hacked, and needed to change over 30 different passwords for different accounts. I have no other information on this matter, but I will advise everyone be cautious when using BBTS to pre-order the newly revealed Kingdom toys.

This is intriguing, my BBTS password was the same I used everywhere else and sure enough just tonight I was making an account on another website and it said “cannot use, this password was discovered in a data breach” or something similar. Currently worried.

Oh Jesus, is there a way to know if you have been hacked? I just preordered the figures.

He received a message saying his passwords may be compromised. And just his passwords, nothing else. He wasn't very specific about it, but I wanted to spread the word. I'll ask again for any more information.

Weird. I'll keep an eye on my debit card just in case.
So this isn't directly connected to BBTS? You don't need to fear monger us.

No, it is directly connected to BBTS. He only got the message after logging into their store.

Interesting. Do you think I should change my password?

Aboslutly. Especially if you have credit/debit info stored on there.

There's a central database of known hacked passwords and some sites check that central database to make sure you are using a secure/non-known password for your account. BBTS just had the curtesy of informing your friend that he was using a potentially hacked password, rather than letting him go ahead and keep using it. That doesn't mean that BBTS hacked his password.

I know this because I'm a web developer with his own routines pointing at the hacked password database.

Preordered Inferno, Huffer, Airazor, and Dinobot. Accounting for the announcements/leaks I've heard so far, I think that's it for Kingdom.

Well looks like I won’t be putting in my last few purchases for the year with them anytime soon.

That is good to know since I looked and did not get the warning. So yeah, going to say this is probably the case.

Thankfully the password I used for them is one I only used on a couple sites, and is completely different to my usual password variants.

Still changes my password, hopefully they don't get anybodys information.

So, what you're saying is that the more likely scenario is that because the individuals affected used the same password at many different sites, one of those other sites got hacked, and that's why the password got flagged at BBTS, and BBTS itself isn't the source of the hack. Right?

If so, that takes my freak-out level down several notches.

I'd better go change it I guess. I had a preorder for Super Mini-Pla GaoGaiGar I dropped earlier this year, and they might still have my info.
I actually used the randomly securely generated password on them, LOL. Well changed to a different random secure password, and deleted the credit card info in my account. Probably don't need to freeze my credit like my mom's been bugging me to do.

Yeah, it sounds like it's just people using the same passwords in multiple places and one of them getting hacked, but not BBTS. I just got an email from BBTS about a preorder arriving and checked my PoL and didn't get any notices about passwords.

Well I went ahead and changed my password with BBTS but I was not met with a compromised password message when I logged in. Neither from them or Chrome. I actually did get a message from Chrome a couple weeks ago that they found like 11 websites with data breaches that contained my email address and passwords. But it was all websites I haven't visited in years with an old email address I no longer use.

I don't like being told what I can or can't use for a password. Let me check a box acknowledging it and move on.
