Isn't just wee 'un? Sounds like weean in Scottish lilt?

Our new eBay seller from the States. Just an fyi for those nutters paying a gazillion pounds for Soundwave and Prime, the already created gap fillers apparently look the dogs on ol' NF Sounders too

I believe that "wean" is how native Scots, particularly in the West of Scotland, spell it written down.

Controversial Hot Take: It's a perfectly readable way to spell it, it's just that the English's terrible grasp of our own phonetics means culturally we need 2 x 'e's to cue us to such a variant (why, indeed, does that read as "ween" to "wean a baby", when it's spoken like "ween"? I suspect something to do with the archaic letter 'æ' being subbed for by that 'ea'*). In fact a lot of the time it's the way the English say things as "Normal/Proper" that are weird but you don't see it (or in this case hear it) when you're immersed in it, and people of other English-speaking cultures actually have a better, more sensible grasp on pronunciation.

BTW Irish spelling gets a pass because it's not "Funny/weird", it's their native language asserting itself over the English forced upon them in oppression. ;)

EDIT: * = Whoops, nope that(æ)'s actually 'a' as in man but some letter usage shift is along those lines is still my theory!

You can say that again. I haven't tried customizing anything in many a year, but the thought of applying orange paint still gives me the shakes.

Love it! Fun fact, first DVD I ever bought was The Thing all the way back in 2001.

To be fair Chris, pretty sure we adopted wean from our Scottish friends, probably by way of Ulster-scots. Which is something to behold.

Between English, Irish and Ulster-Scots I'd say it's less about asserting, and more about confusing the shite out of the rest of the world for the craic, and ourselves. :p

'“The reason I curse so much is not because of my lack of vocabulary, it’s because I’m an Irish person. I’m an Irish person speaking the English language. And the English language doesn’t suit my soul. I should be speaking the Irish language, but I don’t understand a fucking word of it.'

Aye, speaking of the Fossil lads, The bot modes may not be to everyone's tastes, but I certainly get a whiff of BW nostalgia about the odd proportions, faces and 'here is a dinohead for a fist' qualities. I'm all in for those lads.

With the dust settling a bit, would I be the only one thinking Inferno could use a splash of white or silver for his alt mode?

Got my shipping notice for Ratchet and Lifeline. Let's see if they do the coast-to-coast shuffle, or if they're more like Dirge and Ramjet, who made a pretty straight shot from Dallas-Fort Worth to Philly, then across the pond with no deviations.

That, my friend, is exactly what resistance through language is right there, so it is, to paraphrase Blindboy if you know that Fecker of an Occupier is gonna take any excuse to beat you for a "wrong" answer, and any answer can be the "wrong" answer, then bamboozle the prick until he let's you on your way because he can't take any more "Irish nonsense"! :lol

Good plan. I might whip out the chrome pens myself. Or maybe wait to see if Toy Hax bring the shine.

Actually @Insurgent - I see Amazon US have the Barricade/ PCP set back up for pre-order - didn't you say you'd be happy to split the set with me? T'was just PCP you were after?

I know artists who use subtlety and they're all cowards. Exemplary work, my friend.

Ok, all things Core and Fossilizer remain easy passes for me. I am surprised by how gorgeous Inferno is. I love all the tweaks they've done to the Grapple mold. Stunner! Huffer looks really good. Not as jaw droppingly great as I'd have hoped, but really good. I'm relieved that his shield is kind of inessential and not akin to Arcee and Cliffjumper's partsforming bother. I can do without more ambivalence in my life right now. But man, his vehicle mode looks weird to me. I thought it was a concequence of hewing too closely to the animation model. Then I looked up the animation model and saw it was pretty much fuck all like that. Looks like it is it's own thing, unless I'm missing a reference somewhere . Highly likely. Anyway, should be more stupid and boxy. Deduct 2 points.

    I lol'd hard.

In toy news, I have Funko Pops for things I'm no longer convinced by, like Spider-Man Far From Home

I phrased it poorly t'other night regarding my description by using 'truck' in 2 different senses, with the clarity of morning-to-midday brain though I can state more clearly that Huffer's alt. mode strikes me as the most seemingly Classics/Early Generations philosophy updating modernisation in quite some time, they've pretty clearly hybridised the G1 Chibi truck cab with the proportions of a flatbed van, and added said flatbed.
    Screen Shot 2020-12-03 at 12.07.00.png
And to be honest I probably would've put up & shut up about it if this sort of design had been released any point before the Prime Trilogy (and, heck, even then I put up with CW Huffer who was almost entirely wrong in so many ways!) but it's a *Puttup!* from me instead when this comparatively wild bit of experimentation is being put out alongside some of THE most slavishly 'Toon accurate toys put out thus far.
It's like he's an avatar of the creative design urges repressed by the overall exacting demand for spot-on depiction. Even his robot mode looks a bit 3P-taking-their-own-spin to me in comparison to the likes of Arcee, Warpath, etc.! That gun is swish BUT to me Huff's an engineer his gear shouldn't be fancy but functional, plus it's pretty galling that with all the welding torch hands in SS'86 he ends up without his? Poor form, Has/Tak, poor form!

You know, when a toy is overall pretty great, I tend to be positive about things I could complain about. Sunstreaker has different yellows ? Neat, he's like a shaking flashlight, that's nice for that poser ! Runaguys have useless wheels ? Neat, way more poseable like this ! Mirage has a big butt in car mode ? Neat I like big butt and I cannot lie.
It's not being delusional, it's just how I feel.
But how do I get rewarded for this attitude ? Grey and not white stuff around Inferno head ? That's a line that shouldn't have been crossed.
NOW you give me grey ?
