Yeah, this pretty much sums up what feels off about the modern lines

And it's also why I like the fossilizers so much, they are new and interesting

When is a show from the 80s or 90s NOT full of cringey dialogue? Especially cartoons and other shows aimed for kids. Even some of the current shows which are really intelligent can have cringey dialogue. Look at Instinct. One of the people at the police station said that he wanted to download Fortnite on a computer at the station to a friend of the main character who were both PART OF THE CIA as the friend was posing as a new IT guy. And when it comes to cringey dialogue, look at Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, He-Man, Thundercats, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Meanwhile, I agree the sentiment that Generations needs new toys from sources other than the American G1 Cartoon. There are only SO MANY times which you can see a new G1 Optimus Prime figure and not think that it is getting old. Sadly, G1 nostalgia is so powerful in the Transformers community, Hasbro is probably scared for its bottom line because tons of GEEWUNNERS might not like it (said semi-sarcastically). Seriously, GEWUNNERS can sometimes be more toxic than Bayverse fans (no sarcasm here, just said in a joking manner) because of the fact that they have so much purchase power because they are older. Someone who was 5 when Transformers was first released September 17, 1984 is now 41. This might make people feel old, but this just shows how frightened Hasbro is for its bottom line. 41 year-old, nostalgia-driven Transformers collectors have HUGE purchase power and presence in the Transformers community. They want THEIR characters, not someone else's characters. Remember Trukk not munky.

So therefore, if anyone in the Transformers community wants Hasbro to release more than just Generation 1, we need to support the Beast Wars figures in Kingdom as well as support Hasbro's decision. Hasbro need to be able to access those other pieces of nostalgia (like Armada, Energon, Cybertron, RID 2001, etc) without the wrath of these GEEWUNNERS slamming down on them. So, here is my idea:
    1. Start by releasing characters from the other G1 continuities (like the Japanese Characters, Hearts of Steel, Marvel, IDW, etc).
    2. As soon as your done with those figures, start releasing figures of G1 Characters that need modern toys because they either have no toys at all, or haven't had real toys since the original toyline (Skids, G1 Devcon, etc) alongside branching out from there. Do it Universe-styled with characters from G1 thrown into other continuities. Make sure that those continuities don't have characters with the same name so we won't have the whole Kingdom Inferno situation.
    3. Profit.

boo fucking who. I had to wait 14 years for an Optimus Primal. Assuming the rumors about Scorponok are true we're missing three season one characters, every season 2 & 3 character/new design and all the non-show figures. You're acting like BW fans have to beg for crumbs while we're all at the age to have disposal income.

But you know, we need our third or fourth legends Optimus Prime, Starscream, and Megatron, our third Ultra Magnus, second Warpath, third Cyclonus, etc, especially considering after next year the lines are gonna be mostly G1 anyway.

When the Core class Megs has better proportions than the Voyager mold XD. Seriously why cant we get a Megs with good proportions and colors at a voyager size? The siege/er mold came so close! But the chest makes him look fat.

Cyberverse is just stylized G1, your kinda missing the point of what they said

The only cyberverse characters that really fits what they meant is bumblebee, dead end, astrotrain and soundwave

It's also a bit shortsighted to think we'd like cyberverse just because it looks different, I personally don't like the cyberverse designs, or the toys, the only one I do like is the BAF bumblebee

This is just a slap in the fucking face! Like I was saying before, Hasbro knows exactly how to make a correct Megatron, body proportions, head sculpt and all! They just chose not to! So annoying! They just keep dancing around it!

Well, you know, we kind of do need those. Not everyone has been collecting for a decade plus, and keeping the key characters in near constant rotation is a very important part of the brand management. My nephew was introduced to the original cartoon by his dad and now it's his favorite Transformers show. He's seven and very much buying generations toys. That may be an outlier case, but supporting media does still emphasize those key players.

Gonna have to get Ractonite, Inferno and Huffer.

That tiny megatron looks horrible, to tell you the truth. What\'s theory the big honkin\' shoulder kibble? And we\'re they so scared about there not being enough G1 that they are usng most of core class are G1?

EDIT: I just noticed that pistol in tank mode. That's got to be the dumbest tank I've ever seen.

His personality is just being a whiny bitch, it's just a hole to fill on the G1 shelf. He's never done anything particularly noteworthy.

People are reductive of Gears but he had least has an interesting character.

So why all the Huffer love around here if he's such an annoying character?

I agree about Cyberverse being creative...in terms of lore and storytelling. Cyberverse got really good during the second and third seasons especially, with the Quintesson arc (IMO) being the peak. Although I do find Cyberverse's characters designs a bit uninspired. They're just simplified Evergreen designs, which I mostly associate with....birthday cards and whatnot. I suppose I'll give the Evergreen designs props for not just faithfully recreating the '80s models, but I also wouldn't exactly consider them peak creativity.

Inferno: As with Grapple, I find the alt-mode a bit messy (expected as they’re based on the same mold) but overall rather nice. Lovely robot mode, and even more gun options with the ladder gun thing than Grapple. I plan to preorder this.

Huffer: All round very nice. I like that the shield isn’t just a generic looking shield, but looks like a fearsome claw weapon with those teeth. I think he might have the best looking pistol too. Another one I think I’ll preorder.

core Megs and Starscream: they’re fine for what they are, and finally a Megatron with silver paint rather than just light grey! Vehicle modes aren’t great (actually, I have a soft spot for the tank, but I’d see it as more an alien tank than the Earth tank it’s probably meant to be). Kudos for having a hand gun that homages his G1 mode and also becomes part of this alt mode. I wouldn’t normally be interested in core figures, especially owning larger better proportioned versions of the characters, but I’m interested in the upcoming ark. Having figures that scale with that would be nice, and the bot modes are decent enough for that.

I’ll probably preorder these too, if they’re around Core Prime’s price point.

Fossil guy: Generally not interested in these, or their attachment gimmick but I am impressed with all the dinosaur skeleton modes. Kudos for giving a styracosaurus a place too, when people usually go with triceratops for their horny rhinoceros type dinosaurs. I likely will pass on this.
