For me, the perfect shelf display pieces for bot mode are the Fanstoys Stunticons. They absolutely look the part. If space is a concern (and it likely is for many of us) the XTB versions are fine. Those are the set I have displayed. DX9 however may be the set to get for combined mode. I agree TRANZ that their bot modes are lanky and leave something to be desired, but that gestalt though... noice.

 

I, personally, think XTB looks best overall. I prefer the carbot sized bot modes (for the 4 cars) and the car modes look great. XTB Motormaster looks good in both modes and fits well with the cars.

FT Motormaster is awesome due to its transformation from full truck and trailer into a bot mode not much bigger than XTB’s MM. The FT cars are WAY too big in bot mode though, but otherwise look ok.

DX9 just looks bad overall. The cars aren’t too bad, but their bot modes are too big and don’t look as good as the other sets. DX9 MM is by far the worst of the 3 choices though and was the clincher on my choosing to disregard DX9 as an option for my collection.

Even D's gestalt looks weird to me. It may be stable AF, but the proportions are just... OFF. The gigantic calves, small thighs, weird face... just NOT for me.

 And I know people naturally pit Menasor against Superion... as they should, they were indeed Natural Born Enemies! LOL
However, the Stunticons were NEVER created to be rivals of the Aerialbots.
Megatron purposefully created them to RULE THE ROAD, and to be (greater than) equals to the CURRENT Autobots... IE Prime and the carbots. Which is why, in theory, XTB nailed it concerning height.
Prime also didn't create the Aerialbots to match up against Meg's new tirecons, he made them to even out the playing-airfield (so to speak) to counteract Starscream, Thunderbutt and Skywarp.
So it would make sense the Aerialbots be SEEKER height as well!

I'm glad they are working on it, at least. And, please, painted eyes with no unnecessary led for me.

 

Alright. The best looking Menasor head sculpt among all. But unfortunately the huge team memeber height difference really turns me off.

 

Electronics? Add a 100 bucks to the price tag.

I'd definitely prefer painted eyes, though they can easily be painted if they opt against it. LED eyes are just not my thing. The charcoal face though... Please no.

 

I had both too... wei Jiang was more FUN, and had a more impressive base mode (its frigging HUGE... you can fit a Titan class robot in battle station mode inside it), but I agree its not toon accurate. Also the placement of the neck joint bothered me. Other than that its an amazing figure, I have no complaints. I sold it but I kept the blue repaints to serve as other Guardian Robots. (It helps that there's even an option for making it headless like that one episode)

But I have no complaints whatsoever about dx9s version, once the joints are lubed up. Its absolutely the most show accurate OS available... its dimensions from the sides and the appearance of the thighs, lower legs and 'boot spikes' are all more on-model than FTs.

No matter which version you get, you will probably be happy with it. My friend I sold the wei Jiang to was STOKED

On topic: must admit, that menasor face looks pretty great. Might hafta snag Gravestone and the trailer just in case... hey, options are good!

 

The minibots are mini because they are from the microchange toyline, and they kept that scale based on the toy size compared to the diaclone scale. Diaclone and mircochange has a different scale. The subline change combine toyline also doesnt scale with diaclone toyline and has a different scale like the mircochange toyline. So an autobot carbot from the diaclone line doesnt set the scale for a carbot from the change combine line.

 

XTB really nailed that head sculpt for Menasor. I don't see how it will have a lot of articulation though.

 

Don't worry, they'll make an additional trailer that mounts to the 1st trailer for that  

 

I don't want or need electronic gimmicks. Give me the painted eyes, the blaster packs for the cars in their alt modes, and get this thing shipped. Thanks.

edit: Or forget the rest and just get me the blaster packs for the cars and a Youth Flipout. I don't plan to combine anyway.

 

Yeah; I do have this niggling concern about not-Dragstrip's shoulders, the fact that combined mode doesn't work with Porsche Guy, and the other small QC defects 3 or 4 of the figures have. I put them in the back of my mind, but now that you mention it, there's no way they're going to get any better...plastic doesn't "heal" itself. They *could* disintegrate/break before I ever combine them. C'est la vie.

I wasn't upset. At all. What on Earth makes you think that I was "upset"? Dude asked a question about why many are "all in" on the Berserkars; I provided input.

I'm now upset that there are enough arseholes on this board that "like" your bristling because I dare write f*** this company or that (Heaven forbid!).
What I mean is I don't understand people's brand loyalty that extends to being an advocate of one of these companies and identifying with them, as much as someone who works for or owns any of the companies. Mind-bottling.

I have to back up slightly. I do have two DX9 figures that I love because they fit right in with the official line and other 3P MP-style products: Gabriel and Richthofen. They're great.
But those are two outliers: Of the dozens of DX9 and Unique Toys (still same outfit, right?) products, TWO fit snugly in "G1" Masterpiece aesthetics.

I say f*** (blank) anytime someone's annoying me or talking stupid. I had no idea there were extremely fragile snowflake advocates in here.

Like, Fans Toys can go f*** themselves to the moon over figures that others have made (better and/or cheaper). But their "minibots"? I'll buy those all day, until they start sodomizing wallets on those figures.


Monolith is looking better and better. I have high hopes for the trailer/combiner parts. Don't let us down, X-T!

 

I'd just recommend ignoring stuff like that coz you will always have someone who doesn't get how you feel/what you mean, or just wants to be that guy who wants to try and 'check' your reaction as if you are not allowed to voice it regardless of how hyperbolic they might think it is. How she goes.
I don't advocate for them to be silenced either, just advice for you to take it lightly or just ignore completely. Better for your mental health at the end I'm sure haha.

 

Just ignore the assholes and the people who accidentally come off as assholes, or have fun with it with some silliness. Getting upset over what people say on the internet is just not worth it. You don't know them and don't owe them anything.
