I know G1 sells, obviously it does. Not gonna stop me from complaining how oversaturated it is, though. I mean that's prolly way the MP figs have been so shit lately, people buy them no matter what
But people who like Transformers don't only like G1 and G1 alone, Beast Wars 'aint niche either. And after so much G1 shit for so long and barely anything else I'm getting sick of it

Huffer looks great, Ractionite\'s legs look a little too skinny for his body. I\'m glad Legends scale figures are returning but do we really need another Megatron, Optimus and, Starscream? It may just be me but I think there\'s just too much G1 on store shelves right now and I hope the Beast Wars Kingdom figures sell well to show Hasbro that they can do more things besides G1.

Megatron - Megatron shooting Megatron!. I was considering skipping the Core 'downsized' figures but I've got to get this.

Starscream - I hope they give this guy an unusual deco, just to give me an excuse to get the mold. I'd be down for a mini 'ghost' Starscream.

Ractonite - I was considering skipping the Fossilizers as well, but this guy is making me reconsider.

Inferno - I'm getting flashbacks to the pics in my old Figurine Panini Transformers sticker book (still got that somewhere). Definite must-have.

Huffer - Looking good. I would have been happy with a Core version, but now he looks like a worthy companion to Ironhide. That giant gun and shield reminds you why the Autobots often had the more military alt-moded Decepticons on the run back in the 'old days'. And he can pull Optimus's trailer. Brings back memories....Can't wait for Pipes.

Conclusion: I'd grab any of these, if I came across them, even 'mini' Starscream.

I appreciate that Inferno is not exclusive. Huffer is very good, but I wonder if it fits with other legend scale minibots like Earthrise Cliffjumper.

Well, I think things will look up for you, because this can't go on much longer. They are running out of re-hashes to sell us. Pretty soon they are going to have to think of SOMETHING new.

Boy, I don’t think G1 fans can throw stones at BW for cringey dialogue. That G1 glass house would shatter in a second.

What am I not seeing that so many others are in Core Starscream? That alt mode is horrible. I know I sound like a broken record but I really hate seeing massive robo-bits hanging off the underside of wings. It seems like Maverick was an experiment in designing a decent jet mode and the fan outcry about how ugly it was combined with how much praise they get for crap efforts like the Earthrise mold and this Core Class really just reinforces that most don't care about the alt mode at all so long as they get a cool robot.

Really dig that fossilizer. Chunky bastard.

Huffer is insta-bought. So much better than I thought we'd get.

Inferno I dig, but not essential for me.

Megs looks OK for the scale, but the feet hanging off the back of alt are a turn-off. At least they could have made them look like shielding or weights or something. Nope. Just feet.

Thing is though how many times can Hasbro revisit G1 or more specifically the 84-86 eras before it gets the point of having both stagnation from giving us the same batch of characters with the same exact designs over and over again as well as alienate even hardcore G1 fans who are bugged that there's hardly anything new to look forward to other then G1 rehashes and the occasional homage from time to time? Sure G1 sells now but what about when it no longer does?

I don't think anyone here is denying that G1 will be staying but eventually it isn't going to be enough for Hasbro to keep the brand alive especially if all they're doing is to dish out similar looking designs back to back. There's a reason why the phrase doing the same thing over and over again is the definition of madness is used in the first place. Unless Hasbro wants to see Transformers go the way of other 80's brand that refused to change things up when needed, Hasbro's going to have to do more then just give us G1 Optimus Prime for the 30th time in a row.

As for Beast Wars not being revisited much that's mostly because it hasn't had much of a chance to do so. Things like the new IDW BW ongoing series and the Netflix WFC show will change that hopefully.

I tend to think internally(at the corporate/marketing level) there might not be a lot of support for a Beast Wars(if not for the upcoming 25th anniversary would the new Kingdom Beast Wars figures even have been made?). Thus I think Hasbro is gauging reception for the Beast Wars figures and Fossilizers in Kingdom, to see if there’s demand for more. Obviously to most of us there is. I’m using the new figures as a means to catch up on the figures I passed on back in the day(and to replace some BW figures that broke).

Hopefully the Kingdom BW figures sell well enough with most buyers to convince Hasbro to push out more new BW figures after Kingdom.

You know what I like about Core Megs? It seems to be canonizing a new take on his relationship to the walter p38 hand gun as being a second iconic weapon in meg's arsenal rather than the thing he turns into. I had been thinking the same myself, having earthrise megs wield the megs handgun from the centurion kit just looks and feels right.

That's actually a cool idea for Starscream. :)  Heck for that matter to any 3rd party company out there make Pretender shells/armor for the core G1 figures!

revolving nostalgia. By selling adult fans the G1 desings and using G1 adjacent designs for the kids show they are establishing a setup where when current kids are older the G1 designs will be nostalgic to them as that is what was on shelves when they were young. As long as they keep it up and new fans come into the franchise G1 will always be marketable. It's a similar argument to why superheroes very rarely deviate from their traditional looks for very long

Just wanted to point out that of the 20 figures announced so far, only 7 are Beast Wars characters.

Guess we'll have to wait another 6-10 years to complete even the first season cast

Now, for all the kingdom reveals this week, I gotta ask

    WHERE GALVATRON!?!?

Seriously, there's no way he's not coming, why haven't we seen him yet?
