4. Perennial request for a perfect mold for it to be retooled into a proper PMOP please. They didn't do it with PotP Prime. PLEASe do it with this mold. PLEASE lol.

 

This Ultra Magnus really makes me wish we still had the LEGENDS line from Takara.
First time in a while I've felt that so strongly, but just the overall paint on the chest, the legs...
I feel like if Takara was involved, maybe they would have chosen a slightly more show-accurate shade of blue plastic...
Real waste of potential.

Also, can't believe they didn't at least put an Autobot logo on his left shoulder.

 

I don't watch BW's, which is why I never knew who Airazor was in the first place. I just see a decent looking fembot figure that's purchase worthy.

As for Cyberverse, I get what you're saying and as a result I don't buy Cyberverse toys in the 1st place. Lugnut and Acidstorm will always be Male characters in my collection.

Overall I think HasTak should tread lightly when it comes to bastardizing characters. They also need to release figures like Strika, Arachnid (a quality one this time), Velocity, Flamewar, Override, Nickel, Crasher/Fracture, Nautica (a better one than that TR version) and Slipstream in Generation's lines since they're female to begin with.

 

If you look closely at Dinobot's back/sides, you'll noticed that the forearms are folded up rather tightly against/inside of his back. So, stands to reason that the main reason they're like that is to allow for them to tuck away nicely inside his body. I could be wrong, but that's just my take on things.

 

Sounds like, posing figures is fun and photos go brrrrrr lol

 

I'm not going to defend the Kingdom version, but the things that bother me most about it were there all along. I'd hoped they'd iron those out, but oh well.

The cab shouldn't have to rely on a trailer to conceal its flaws. Hated the truck mode first time around, and it doesn't live up to its RID inspiration. .



It's just a mess.

Cab looks like what it is, a torso tapered in at the waist, sitting on a wheelbase. Trailer is a partsforming cage. As an altmode, it's strictly a box ticking excercise. No one will want to leave it that way for any length of time, and it's no fun getting there either. Again people cut it way too much slack as a Cybertronian 'made-up' vehicle.



One of the issues with altering the figure is balancing the harsh over-detailing of the original figure with the cleaner aesthetic of the current line. The botmode is more successful in that respect.

 

Damn I\'m back and forth between wanting to pass on the be figures and wanting all of them, because I know I can\'t just get a couple and not get them all. Already went in on boss monkey. UM is... disappointing I will keep my siege one.

It's like they don't package these things in vehicle mode anymore so they don't have to even try.

I honestly just wish they fixed the cab or extended the trailer. I'm disappointed with the truck mode. A G1 face lift isnt enough for me to want it.

 

Airrazor is phenomenal, and a definite buy. Dinobot looks to be an improvement on the Universe toy, at least. Flawed but okay.

Magnus is garbage, plain and simple. A Frankensteined cab to give a slight impression of his Earth mode, but looks far too much like the Earth truck front was just glued on over the original. And the trailer looks far too much like RiD Magnus. That was fine for a "Cybertronian" form but in Kingdom he should look more G1. Does Hasbro have something against Ultra Magnus that they just refuse to do him right? Classics lacked the trailer/armor and Fans Project stepped up and fixed it. CW lacked the cab robot and Perfect Effect fixed it. Siege was a mess to get into full truck mode, but was interesting because of the RiD homage in vehicle mode. And it was great because it was the first proper white-Prime-with-exosuit Magnus since G1. And now, when we're probably all hoping for a great G1-authentic Magnus to put next to ER Prime, Hasbro tosses out this.

After using the UM mold twice already - not counting the GUOP remold - you'd think Hasbro would do a more extensive remold to make this version more G1 authentic. We've gotten so many authentic updates in ER and (going by the photos) Kingdom that this lazy effort stands out as a major low point.

When it comes to Kingdom Ultra Magnus, at least he has appropriate tires when compared to his Earthrise Deluxe Class companion Ironhide.

 

They're limited in what they can do for a retool, and a mold on its second retooling has lost all novelty. Looking at Siege Magnus I can see a few things they might have done, but to make it work it just gets way more involved. I think they should've basically started from scratch, possibly reusing certain transformation concepts.

I can live with it. One thing that detracts from it is those giant gaps at the front and side of the cab, like missing panels that fell off. There's presumably a reason they did it that way, but it really hurts the look.

 

That Magnus is incredibly disappointing. It’s basically the same as the Siege toy. Very disappointing.

The two beasts look fantastic.

 

I think the cab should be pushed farther inside.

 

Man, I hope so. I bought the CW one thinking I'd use it as part of CW Magnus, but I ended up loving it so much that I stashed CW Magnus and just displayed the PE figure on its own. If a potential PE Kingdom Magnus is half as good as the CW, it'd upgrade Kingdom Magnus to top tier

 

Oh cliffjumper is still terrible, i still dont and wont justify a legends figures that partsforms and cost $20. Arcee is great, the partsforming is an option and the articulation is much better than the t30 one. Megatron is not bad its literally almost the exact same as the siege one just with new remolded parts, i like the new head and the limited amount of battle damage he has compared to the siege one.
All of that is my opinion.

They FORCED everything here just to save production cost.

I really thought Hasbro is done with the mold after Galaxy OP.
And I thought they\'ll make a mini-MP UM considering what they did to Siege Swipe and ER Datsuns and Netflix SW.
