Magnus\' ass looks like... ass.

 

not sure what bothers me more about Dinobot; the barely-concealed kibble or the "Deadpool-hands."

 

Will wait for a properly transformed Magnus to form an opinion.

Dinobot's beast mode is... not great.

 

I wish we could just get one cohesive line that fills out the characters without three or four remolds of characters we already got. At least it isn't as bad as when you could only buy Leader and Legends versions of some characters, but no deluxe or Voyager, and vice versa. It seems par for the course that Hasbro starts off strong, but then just makes a mess of everything. Siege just kind of seems worthless after Earthrise. Then Earthrise doesn't really get completed and spills over to Kingdom.

I hate that you had to get lucky just to fill out a full character roster with all the exclusives. At this point, I think I have a version of every Transformer character, just not all from one line. Some look OK together, others are just completely out of place.

Airazor looks great. In terms of the Beast Wars figures, they all look better than expected. But then we have G1 mixed in. Reissues of the exact same molds like Arcee. I would have rather seen Warpath in Earthrise.

 

More so than any of the other pics, this one gave me nostalgic goose bumps. It’s like a scene out of the show. Airazor and Dinobot will make great alternatives to obscenely expensive MPs (assuming Airazor gets one eventually).

I\'m not seeing a faction symbol on Dinobot (besides the box).
That would let people choose which side to display him with.
 

 

I'm a bit of disappointed about the Kingdom UM. I understand Hasbro wants to reduce cost and reuse existing modes. But how can Hasbro remodel cab only and leave trailer as it is? The styles of cab and trailer do not match with each other.

Robot mode looks great, albeit lacking a lot of paint, and coming with a miscolored sword for some reason.

But I'm so disappointed in the raptor mode! The exposed robot legs don't bother me at all and the transformation seems rather ingenious. However, the sculpting and some of the decisions are a bit baffling.

The beast mode head has the same problem as the Universe 2.0 mold. Stumpy, herbivore teeth. Makes him look more like a stegosaurus than a fierce predator. The sculpting in general just looks pretty off here, if they were going for JP style. The curvature to his mouth looks all wrong.
I also don't get why they decided to give him round pupils. It just adds to the derpiness.

The dino hands look so clumsy and awkward as well. Perhaps with some clever posing they might look ok from some angles.

I'm also really disappointed they didn't find a way to give him proper digitigrade legs.

The CG model on the back of the box looks a bit better as it at least has pointy teeth. The brown hip joints also look better.

Airazor is a surprise hit. She looks terrific, and the paint scheme seems a lot more show accurate than we were led to believe from the previousely leaked images.
I'll be waiting for an MP though, as I have no need for an Airazor in this size.

 

Dinobot looks like everything I could've asked for in bot mode. Beast mode looks good in the same derpy way as the original toy. I like it.

 

thanks god this Ultra Magnus is TERRIBLE, so i don\' thave to spend money on it and I appreciate even more my already appreciated SIEGE Ultra Magnus.. same trailer.. fists still exposed.. bad proportions.. less weapons.. i really have no words but i\'m happy for my pocket : ), SIEGE Ultra Magnus is A TRUE \"MASTERPIECE\" : ) 

 

Yeah I've got mixed feelings about Dinobot. He needs tons of paint in both modes and the robot hips sticking out of the dinosaur chest are pretty rough. Its times like these I do kind of miss the option of paying Takara double for a version with more paint. Just painting the backs of his hips brown looks like it would do a lot to help the illusion.
Still going to get him though because its a Dinobot I can mess with without risking breakage on the stupidly expensive MP.

Dinobot and Airazer look good for a mass releases.

Disappointed with Magnus. But if I can find for $40 or less, I'll bite. Definitely not $50.

 

I dont like Kingdom Ultra Magnus.

 

Airrazor is the one time I would've preferred cartoon accuracy. Maybe we'll get the black version as an exclusive.

 

I didnt think it was possible to make Siege Magnus' inner white bot to look worse, but Hasbro sure gave it their all and pulled it off!

 

Add me to the list of those disappointed by Kingdom Magnus. The more I see the less impressed I am. The truck is the worst part of it. I liked how they made Siege Magnus very distinct from Siege Optimus, but in this case I think they would have been well served to give us a white ER Optimus with a few minor differences. Would have looked much better and been a nice homage to the G1 toy. I let the shortcomings of the Siege UM truck slide because it was "cybertronian" and because the front part looked so great, but this is different.

Don't get me wrong, he looks good in bot mode, but even there he doesn't do anything for me that Siege UM doesn't. The inner bot might be cool, but unfortunately they decided not to show us that (unless it was posted later on in the topic and I missed it? Didn't feel like going through 17 pages this evening). As it stand now, I'll buy Kingdom UM if I can get him at a big discount. If not, I have Siege Magnus and he's awesome, so I'll be content.

Dinobot and Airazor on the other hand are must buys.

Airazor:

• Beast-Mode - Wonderful.
  
  • She'll have a lot of robot showing underneath, but the positioning of (what looks to be) the robot forearms on the falcon chest is a nice way to carry through the brown feathers motif.
    
  • The additional joint in the robot leg shin is really nice to see.
    
  • Poseability in the head and wings will make for some great posing.
• Robot-Mode -Phenomenal.
  • Wings out. Wings folded. She looks absolutely incredible.
  • Curiously large accessories, but I get what they were going for/referencing.

Dinobot:

• Beast Mode -Oh dear.
  • There's a lot wrong here. The limp-wristed hands, the head, the eyes, the teeth... All of which aren't the fault of a focus on the bot-mode. They're just wrong design decisions.
• Robot-Mode -Good, but...
  • The shoulders and biceps are a bit on the small side.
  • The change from highly textured raptor skin to unpainted legs is very jarring.
  • The tail doesn't spin and is useless as an accessory as it's now a static piece of plastic.
    
  • The f$%king sword better not be f#$king purple.

Airazor is the first figure that has really excited me from Kingdom. It's a combination of some really head-scratchingly stupid design decisions on the other figures and the fact that this is her first updated figure ever. The others we've seen thus far have had other Universe, Generations or Masterpiece figures in the last 15 years, so the shine is off them slightly. She and Scorponok will have that aura of brand new, never been touched about them. They have the prospect of being done right first time. We could have had that with Terrorsaur, Tarantulas and Inferno, too, but noooo, we have to wait. We needed some piles of bones and G1 repacks first...

 

I’d probably buy this new Kingdom Magnus in Battle Convoy daiclone colors....
...otherwise, I think I’m good.
