Really sad to hear this, condolences to you and your wife’s family.

Never mind the different companies, there are three scales now, Legends, Legends+, and Legends-. New Age is -, Iron Factory is, well, Legends, and MFT is -. Will try to get a picture for you later.

My Siege Magnus is safe but I'm happy for everyone who wanted an Earth Mode Magnus :)

That Airazor looks great! Can't wait :)

Shake that booty, shake that booty

Me too, so far my only must haves are Blackarachnia, Airazor and Vertebreak who looks female to me for some reason - and just checked on TFWiki seems Vertebreak IS female, themselves citing Hasbro at a Kingdom reveal event!

My condolences to you and your wife :(

As for Airazor I think that's possibly a nod to the 'mutant' heads Beast Wars figs apparently had of beastial heads in robot mode. Or the one posing the fig just thought it looked funky :)

    :lol  TRUKK NOT DOGG!

@MyTea Boc You can just bet there's some damned Premium Deco Mags with those empty Autobadge spots tampo'ed and a swish redeco, actually wouldn't put it past Hasbro to release the same damn toy in SS'86!
But why is Matt doing the classic "I'll get those lousy kids - and that stupid talking dog!!!" fist-shaking REVENGE!-vowing pose of the classic villain in that box art whilst driving hands free? I could almost believe they were originally gonna put Miles Mayhem in that vehicle, that is NOT a "Hero" pose!

So after the failure of Earthrise Magnus you are now bailing on Kingdom Rhinox? Lol.

I have the strong impression that, technically, Kingdom Magnus IS SS86 Magnus :/

The arse, the fists and forearms hanging off the back and the overgreebling were all excusable twice but not again - especially since Magnus is supposed to sit with the SS86 lot, as I strongly suspect.

Hasbro might be cheap, useless, money-grubbing idiots but I doubt even they could be stupid enough to try and sell us another lot of Datsuns, a Magnus, A Prime more Seekers and Coneheads all with absolute bare minimum repainting in order to plump up the SS86 line. They MUST be aware at this point of how much goodwill and blind nostalgia they're getting by on...

Hurm, maybe right now was not the best time to watch Boots Riley's 'Sorry To Bother You', especially seeing as my odd job is also telephone operating, it's not that the film isn't funny, it's that it's kinda black, not 'black' niche cultural - pitch black terrifying! A similar bleakness to black Mirror's "Fifteen Million Merits" despite the note of hope it tries for at the end.

I wouldn't be surprised if that deco turns up in a movie box set.

He's obviously mad at his piss clone for stealing the jet. He wanted that part. I wouldn't be surprised if it was originally meant for one of the baddies.

Well, we keep throwing money at them, so probably not!

I only got watching half of it, but definitely felt like it was bleak. Do plan on finishing it mind you.

Its not a solid rule I have, but at this time of year I try to keep my movie choices a bit lighter and breezy. The dark nights are gloomy enough.

Here's something to brighten things up a bit

hmm thats not really an earthmode magnus is it?

cant see many swapping siege for that. front 10% is good, then its just the same as siege and/or weird. central smoke stacks? massive gap between cab and trailer but its not articulated?

im sure it would technically possible to have a white ER Prime with armour that forms an articulated trailer. just not possible at leader price.

Sorry To Bother You is a great film! The twist at the end is so well hidden in the trailer.

Transformers Kre-O Battle Changers Coming Back in 2021

@Convoy Was it you who was into these?
    ...

Realised earlier we haven't seen Kingdom Magnus, Airrazor or whoever from the likes of TonTon. Apart from probably unstoppable product shots, Hasbro seem to have changed things up with their own early looks and toy-bribed reviewers (though those were kinda late to the party).

I was selling PE Magnus to then buy earthrise prime, but I might need to have a rethink...

They are not really Kreo in the purest sense...

I like Magnus enough, especially as I was forewarned not to purchase Siege as I knew the Kingdom one was incoming.

Rhinox I'm on the fence about, he looks good but the old one has the spinning guns. I'm not made of stone man ;) .

Plus better to have in hand than trying to find one on eBay when better pictures of the new one come out and it turns out he's not my cup of tea.

One day as a kid, I was 10, I was invited by a classmate to his house. It was that classmate that doesn't have may friends because you see, he's fat. And shy. Very shy. Often the butt of the joke in the schoolyard for those that needed to compensate for something. He was in fact, sick. Anyway one wednesday morning he asked me if I wanted to come at this place the very afternoon, that his mom agreed to it and that it would make him happy. Well, that did make me happy. I didn't really understand why he did that (I now suspect his mom, who raised him by herself alone, was the one pushing to it, but why she chosed me it's still a mystery. What in the world did he said to her every evening sobbing about his unfortunate day that made me the one she felt might make him feel better, I'll never know. I always felt sorry for him, was always nice to him, as little as our interactions were, but I never stood up for the guy. I was, I guess, what you would call, a coward ?)
Anyway, this invitation made me happy. It was super nice to be asked, and felt like an adventure. I asked my mum, she was thrilled, and so she drove me to his place, said she'll be back at 6pm, and made that unique face she does whenever she commands me to behave like the good boy she try so hard to raise. Well, sure ma.
But what can he and I could possibly do ? We don't really know each other. Kids are kids. There is toys, there is cartoon, we'lle manage. And you know what ? He was the swellest guy. Didn't have much but shared it in the most kindest and natural way. And he was funny ! And you know what ? He plays drums ! I didn't know that ! Turned ut we go to the same muscial school, albeit not on the same day, but hey that's super cool ! So we chat, we plays, and all of a sudden he says: "You wanna play the Megadrive ?"
What in the world is that ? "Sure" I said.
And then he plugged this black slick box on his TV and my world changed forever. This is what I saw:

Nothing will ever be the same. My Shinobi was nowhere near that epic. And what his that glorious sound ?
First 16 bit encounter, first Yuzo Koshiro encounter. I was so into it.

Ad we played. He was very good ! I struggled right into the second stage, you know, the waterfalls, but we managed to make our way to the seventh stage, near the end, and that's when mum arrived to pick me. Moms are moms so the two of her spoke for a little while, something like "I hope he wasn't too embarassing." (thanks ma' !) and all that jazz, giving us enough time to game over with Godzilla (there was GODZILLA in this game, what the hell is a Megadrive !) and laugh a little more.
After that we haned out more at school, we played together in music school, even went to each other auditions, making new common friends, and guys I sure am glad he did invite me that day.
More than the day I discover the Megadrive, that was the day fat Simon became Simon. My friend.

Anyway I ended up reminiscing about all this just because Revenge of Shinobi (or Super Shinobi) was released 31 years ago today.

    Mood.

It's a bravura first film out the gate from Riley but I may not have been in the right mood for it. There were a few bits I recognised as funny that didn't actually make me laugh and
I'm not sure I fully got the "White Voice" metaphor when it came to Detroit's Art, and the intent behind her performance something about the West's complicity in exploitation of black bodies but also kinda self-flagellating?
I think I am gonna have to give it another go, perhaps when nights are lighter?
