Just a guess here but does anyone else think Magnus has the flip up visor thing like Hot Rod has? Sure looks like it to me.

 

He doesn\'t look that much different from Seige. Guess I just have to hope they make a Studio Series UM some year.

 

These main line BW characters make me think the MP line is entirely unnecessary at this point.

 

I was just thinking that too, regarding the flip-up eyes. Either way, was going to comment, I dig the shades he has and wish my Netflix Magnus had them!

 

So that cab Magnus is giving me Energon Optimus flashbacks. That said im buying it to transplant the armor onto my siege cab. I also told myself no more Beast wars but damn now I have to get Airrazor and Dinobot

 

Chillax.  They\'re saving the proper G1 Ultra Magnus figure for Studio Series 86.   

 

Dinobot's arms are... disappointing.

 

Aww man, it looks like Magnus' trailer STILL can't pivot, and is locked in alignment with the cab.

the most a Studio Series 86 Magnus might be is an even-more-cartoon-color redeco of this (even though I'm pretty sure it's already quite close as-is), and that's if Studio Series 86 goes to redecoing some WFC releases of 86 Movie characters as some people have been hoping for, which I honestly don't even think they'll do beyond maybe Springer

 

I was thinking to pass on Airazor... I was soooo wrong! This is awesome!  There was something bothering me about Ultra Magnus, and it´s his waist! It´s wrongly transformed. They need to turn his \"Belt\" waist for the armored belt show, that is the \"White Prime´s\" belt. Looking at the pictures on the back of the box, it looks really good. A very good retooling of the Siege Figure. Dinobot looks awesome, but just like all of his previous figures, the Dino mode is the one which suffers the most. Still I am getting this! I rather this than paying that much for the MP Version.

 

We receive an Ultra Magnus every few years now. If you don't appreciate this incarnation, it isn't as if you lack options.

 

Yeah, guessing Hasbro decided not to be outdone by chinese factory thieves and leakers who likely paid a small fortune just so they can have 5 minutes of internet fame... Will never understand such people. Paying tons of money for a toy that will be available to everyone in a few months anyway... Lack of patience.  
-Airrazor's wings are a tad bit flat and rigid - and can only move up and down, not angle forward, but at least she can sort of collapse them for a landed mode - but the falcon head is very life-accurate and the robot mode is very show accurate finally (the old toy really wasn't). That said the transformation is very basic, and the robot arms and feet are rather visible in alt mode. And... I guess she has a "harpy" mode where she uses the falcon head in robot mode? Huh. I forgot, did she have weapons in the show? Or those rockets are the weapons on her arms?
-Dinobot is really epic. Wasn't sure if I need another after the Henkei one, but yeah, I need this. They did a great job hiding the robot feet in the alt mode, and the texture of the scales makes this far more detailed than the MP. His arms seem also incredibly articulated, as are his fingers. Clever way they have the dino head form the middle of the chest, I can live with such cheating. Both weapons present, all he is missing is a broken golden disc. Is it me or seems his eyes can move, too?
-Magnus - well that inner robot is the same as the Siege toy, just with a new front part. The trailer seems largely the same too in construction, but flatter with less outcroppings. Odd but I think the rockets are new parts too, they seem different than the Siege rockets! Robot mode is great - I think only the doors of the leg armor, the red back piece, and the forearm armor is the same, the rest are new parts. They forgot to rotate the crotch-plate, but you can see on the back of the box how it is supposed to look. And yeah they severely mistransformed the inner robot too, pretty sure you can push up the front of the truck on his back, same as the Siege toy.

Pretty sure this IS Studio Series 1986 Ultra Magnus. Since Siege, Hasbro has started making the movie cast - we got Springer looking exactly like in G1. Then in Earthrise we got Arcee, Wheeljack, Cliffjumper, Starscream and his buddies, Prowl, Ironhide, Ratchet, Blue Streak, Optimus and Megatron looking as much G1 as they could get, Astrotrain, Quintessons, Allicons, Bumblebee, Soundwave... And now Kingdom is giving us Cyclonus, Galvatron, Ultra Magnus... Clearly putting all the characters in the 86 movie toyline wouldn't have worked as a release of 1 line per year, that has to also share its roster with the Bayformers toys. So likely this has been long in the planning -especially since the news about Unicron came around at the same time, but planned to be released next year. I am guessing we will get Wreck Gar and maybe a Wheelie/Daniel pack in SS86, maybe a new Perceptor and Blaster too.

 

Finally a G1 accurate looking Ultra Magnus! I love this Magnus, he has the head with the visor eyes like he had in the cartoon and the g1 toy kinda look, all he\'s missing now  is his crotch piece but they probably forgot to put it on him, and I wish that he had an opening chest that Optimus Prime has but it doesn\'t matter, this is definetely the Ultra Magnus that i\'m getting for my collection!

I skipped Siege UM because I was sure there would be an ER one. What a letdown. I don’t regret passing on Siege, though. I couldn’t get past the alt mode. Guess, I’ll just wait for the next UM.

 

Yup. They even seem roughly in-scale to "real" MP toys.

 

If the Seige altmode was the issue, what's the problem with this one? It looks almost the same as a robot but has the accurate car carrier altmode.

 

To the Hasbro Marketing intern reading this, I'll buy a Generation Selects Delta Magnus

 

Hate to say it because I will probably get this Magnus too, but the oversize Ko Siege Magnus looks better.

 

They could conceivably go for an "all in one" transformation, as he had in the movie, and that would result in a significantly different-looking figure. Especially if they go all in on the robot mode scale

 

Look at the factory photos, his stripes are there. In the volcano set lighting they are just not very visible.

Firstly, Siege Magnus is G1 toy accurate with the chest and shoulders especially G1 toy based. Secondly, why would you want him to be bigger? He is the perfect size compared to Siege/Earthrise Optimus, given that his inner robot is the same size.
Third, when Hasbro is giving us such amazing toys, supporting shameless ripoffs is tantamount to HERESY (BLAM!)
