I knew the Optimus looked weird but I just thought I was misremembering or that it was a plastic reissue. Haha those things are still really detailed designs.

 

It's not only amazing details, these things pretty much just transform the same way as the G1 figures did. Especially Megatron. Megatron is just a smaller G1 Megatron. A lot flemsier, but, still G1 Megatron. If I recall correctly, there isn't a missing step at all, or any changes, other than the hands flip out instead of sliding out through a tab. And, all that in figures that are actually smaller than Micromasters/Minicons.

So, Megatron wouldn't exactly be submarine size... he'd be Mirco Machine size.

LOL probably. But, if I recall correctly, there were a lot of people having this Megatron being 'held' by the original Masterpiece Prime figure. In reality though, I always loved just how 'big' G1 Megatron's toy is in gun mode. He's so big, that his arm cannon/scope's muzzle is actually bigger than Optimus Prime's head. Imagine if G1 Megatron's cannon was that big. Imagine if his gun was actually big enough, powerful enough to just blow off the head of Optimus Prime in one shot. Which is clearly what one could apply to the toys.

That is something I've always liked better about Shockwave. He's a big large space gun, not a small punny gun requiring to be held by others. But, a gun that could fire itself, and fly through space. Where as Optimus Prime could easily just drive over Megatron as he is in gun mode. Megatron's supposed to be this powerful fearful overlord leader, but, he's relying so heavily on others to use his gun mode. The mode in which is he clearly the most vulnerable in.

Something that made me glad they did away with, with Galvatron. Galvatron no longer needed someone else to hold him, to aim him. He's no longer relying on his troops. He's still a gun, he's just a gun, that's more like a cannon. He can fire, and aim himself now.

People debate whether or not Optimus and Megatron should be the same size in robot mode, but, I think they should be similarly sized in altmode, too. I think that's a far bigger deal. This is why I'm glad he's now a tank. Although, I think he should be more like a flying gun/cannon, as it fits more, more often.

 

I'd have Megatron be around a head taller than Optimus. Any larger than that would be better for a Super/Ultra Megatron type upgrade.

Unless it's like a side-villain, like Mad Dog from The Raid. He was short, but a fucking animal.

 

Man, I rewatch the fight scenes from Raid and Raid 2 pretty frequently, and yeah, that Mad Dog fight... geezus.

 

If your shorter and know what you're doing you have the advantage.

 

How? I always thought it opposite because taller people have longer reach.

 

One of my friends is a foot and a bit shorter than me and he can kick my ass. Flipped me over and everything. Size or height doesn't always make you strong.

 

Due to their smaller size, they can easily knock you over. If you're on the ground height doesn't matter.

 

I can go either way, but I prefer Megatron being taller. Makes him look more intimidating.

 

I vote same height cause it should be even matched but that's me and what i see from the show. Just like Galvatron and Rodimus Prime should be same height.

 

I'm 5'6". When I was taking Tang Soo Do years ago I was pretty good at neutralizing the reach advantage of my sparring partners. I remember one girl in particular favored kicks because of her long legs. So naturally I got in close so she couldn't kick. Her punches weren't full power, either because she couldn't "throw" them properly close in. I was able to tailor the distance perfectly for my shorter reach while killing her height advantage.

Of course, since she was a few belt levels above me, in an actual fight she'd still have kicked my ass ...
