See I'm drifting slowly to that place too - certainly re: Berserk to go alongside Thomas.

But then my mind just thinks how awesome their Jazz, Cliffjumper and Gnaw (keep the faith, he WILL happen!  ) will be in hand, and the rationale collapses.  

ESPECIALLY when I look at how great their combiners are turning out so far, and remember Devastator.  

 

Blitzwing and Cliffjumper for me. I'm totally happy with Downbeat, and TT will eventually do Soundwave v2. If they don't do Blaster I can always go with KFC.

I only want combiners in combined mode, so my perfect edition Constructor is totally good for me. XTB are doing a Defensor.

So although I love the FT figures I have, and would buy more etc. I'm only really keen to get Beserk and replace XTB's Toro. After that I can be more choosy if I want to be.

Until they release toony dinobots. Then I'm screwed!

 

My hope is to finish their two combiners and stop collecting. I don't need every character, but then who am I kidding?  

The thing most likely to stop me from collecting is: the price.

 

Yes I did the same. One for bot mode and the other to transform from shuttle to train occasionally.

 

I left my thomas at the retailer for a long time and finally shipped it... it came today ... and the knees.... the don't line up. The difference is absurd. Does anybody know a fix for the knee ratchet?

 

First fix is to put the lower knee joint actually in the same position both sides!   It's stiff but it moves. Then from that point you could see if you really have the alignment issue which is far more subtle than that!

 

It looks like the left leg wasn't allowed to extend all the way out. You have to lift a tab on the inner leg to extend the leg fully. Look at the image and see if that helps.

Don't pull on the leg until that tab is lifted.

 

Nah those are both extended. If one wasn't the legs would be different lengths and he wouldn't be able to stand as he is. It's 100% the lower joint in different positions. Look how one thigh is up against the knee pad and the other has about 1cm gap.

 

I just put my Thomas in the exact same position as his picture and that lower left leg definitely looks like it's sitting too high compared to mine. If those legs are both fully extended there's something very wrong. My Thomas has a bad left knee ratchet too and it's not leaning anything like his.

Of course FansToys says they aren't going to have replacement parts for Thomas...

If those sliders you point out are collapsed in you cannot see the circle details on the inner thigh. He has one lower leg further forward than the other, not one leg longer than the other. Hence the different gap between knee pad and thigh on each leg, and that it can still stand straight. It's due to the lower knee joint being back one click on the right leg. If one of the sliders was collapsed and not the other, but the knee joints in the same position, it would have one leg longer than the other and not be able to stand.

 

I agree it can't be the slider tab at this point but his left knee sits a lot more forward and lower than mine. Here are the comparisons.

That's because, as I've been trying to explain, badly I guess, his left leg has the lower knee joint one click forwards compared to his right leg, and both your legs!

Once he gets those lower knee joints in the same configuration for accurate comparison, it'll then become apparent if he has the actual knee alignment issue that half this thread is about. Right now, his 'absurd' difference left to right is because the left leg is essentially transformed/posed differently to the right. That's why the front of his left thigh is almost up against the knee pad whereas there's a big gap on the right leg.

 

Thanks ! you are right, I did not know it was a double jointed knee, and that the joint was suppeerrrr tight  . There is still some missalignment.. but not drastic.

 

I made up a rumor that the BBTS orders are taking so long because FT is making sure everyone gets them real good knee ratchets

 

Oh when you try to get into the alt modes you'll 'love' how tight that lower knee joint is!  

 

hate that lower knee joint....chipped the crotch paint because of it....

 

After waiting for months, my Astrotrain also landed today. It was a bargain compared to that what was being paid on ebay. Truly one of the five best 3rd Party figures. Now I'm just waiting for FT to pull out Blitzwing. But it also looks fine between KFCs Ditka and Megatron... for the moment  

 

Mine arrived yesterday from ShowZ (just one day short of 3 weeks from order so massive props to them). FWIW, QC 32 and no knee issues that I noticed. That said, HOLY HELL is the left chest panel hard to click into place - it took me almost 10 minutes. Also wasn't easy tabbing the exhaust panel in in either vehicle mode so hopefully those get better over time. Gorgeous figure.
