Yeah, those characters are a virtual unknown to me and I don’t even collect figures with Cybertronian alts, but I’m really tempted. They look fantastic.

(Not sure if that's either talking to the mods or me, so I gotta swing for this one as well. Again, I'm not a mod, haha. No worries for the confusion, though, since the Supporter badge looks similar. Big guy actually is my first, funnily enough. I sold off my original Tarn and Vos (both of which were eBay pickups, the latter having some broken pieces, which makes me really glad I sold him off, though feeling the likely pain of the one who bought him) in favor of the new reissues, since I can finally nab them from an actual store. Helex and Tarn are currently chilling in TCP's stack. Though likely not for long since I left them in there for so long, with the hopes that Vos and Kaon would come out this year as well. Which unfortunately is not the case. So they'll join in the box with some other and soon approaching POs (FT Breakdown, MT Premium Jazz, XTB Quintesson, MP Spin-Out, etc).

We really need more IDW Fembots from MMC. As much as I love my boys, I’m still dying for a Nautica. Her body looks like it could be more or less retooled to Firestar as well?

I think MMC underestimate how much she’ll sell.

They are indeed MTMTE insignia’s. I got them at ToyHax/Reprolabels site.

They have Decepticon ones, and DJD Decepticon ones too  

 

Yep, those are MTMTE's styled Autobot insignias. Most probably those are Toyhax's. Essentially it's kinda a little scratch thing moreso like seeing something in a cartoon from far away.

He just better let Bee put the star on!

 

Those are awesome. If I end up liking the comic I may have to start an IDW figure collection, in which case I would use those insignias for sure. Love the exaggerated pouty chin.

 

Even if you don't totally get into it (I have a feeling you'll like it! If you wanna cheat a bit more, you can maybe even start around The Dark Cybertron arc - it gets a little 'jumbled' because MTMTE and what was RiD at the time were separate books but were connected - just going-on's with different characters in different places [and different writers]), I think you'll still like some of the figures.


If you had to choose just two or three figures to dip a toe in; I'd recommend G-Creations Prowl, any of MMC's DJD and Drift, and Planet-X's Star Saber. See how they feel before/after reading the books and see if you'd like to continue on collecting  

 

Yeah, GCreations Rebel (Prowl) is awesome— I didn’t know about it until I saw previews of the Dust (Smokescreen) repaint. I missed my initial shot at Rebel already, I think. I was seriously tempted by MMC Stray Asterisk (the blue/gold one), and am kind of kicking myself for not buying it when I had the chance. It’s cool in the standard Drift-white, but looks fantastic in the darker color scheme, IMO.

I’ve limited my collection to MP/3P Earth-alts only so far. If I go down this road, my wife will friggin’ kill me. I’ll be crowding into the display of stuff our kids made out of clay in elementary school...

Any way you can get away with getting a mini detolf or two? Ones that are half the size as normal ones. I got one specifically to hold my MP Omega Supreme (and was able to squeeze some other stuff in there as well).

You could even cheat and get some for your desk!

Rebel feels high quality and looks great, but like most GCreations figures, it's a pain in the butt to transform. I pretty much treat my GCreations figures as non-transforming action figures at this point, which I usually stay away from (no more Fanstoys in my collection) but their figures just look so sweet. I ALMOST pulled the trigger on their Nemesis Prime (since GT OPEX is my IDW Prime for now), but still hesitating a bit...

No such problem with MMC figures though, save a few of their older figures. Easy and fun to transform with good playability. They don't always have the same impressive paint or sculpt work of GCreations though, except for Carnifex.

 

I don't currently have any GCreations figures, but you're right, they do look great. I have four MMC figures (non-IDWs) and love them. All are fun to transform except for Hellion-- he's a bit fiddly. As for Fanstoys, I only have one-- Hunk-- and it's a great figure, IMO, but not fun to transform.

We put up amusingly enough, one large tree and 3 small ones. All fake, but God, its a pain in the ass, we keepem in the basement. If my younger sib didn't love it as does my mom, dont think we'd do it
