I think TE should focus on G1 characters that still really need a more toon accurate figure, like Ultra Magnus, Ironhide/Ratchet, or any of the carbots that currently have to settle for MP+ repaints.

I'm really interested in getting that new TT Starscream but only as a KO because their prices are Cray Cray, but I wonder how Ironstar would improve it.. But then again the TT version is very near close to perfection.

Still I'd love to see a TE/Ironstar designed Megatron as good as their TE-01 and with a Marvel comics, metallic, and Autobot repaint.

Definitely not wanting to pay FT prices though for a Soundwave.

The best from FansToys would be a G1 Optimus Prime. I would preorder that instantly and it would make you forget about TE-01

Will it come with or without paint chipping action?
I'm neither for nor against FanToys but their last few releases have been bad enough that people need to stop assuming that anything they make will be the best thing ever.

Oh honestly I am saying this because I thought their figures were amazing. I have never owned one from them. But if you say so, then I should see my expectations from them a bit lower.

how fanstoys could top this is beyond me. does it have minor issues? yep. are they fixable? yep. how the hell do you fix all the shitty paint chipping/scraping on fanstoys products (if they even get the paint color right -looking at you blurr)? they look good until you handle them for 5 minutes. i own tons of fanstoys figures and like most of them, but they are not the infallible gods people make them out to be.

Ok, I just thought that was the overall opinion on this brand, seems I was wrong. Just went to read about the FT-44 Thomas and it indeed has a lot of problem for that price... Also I don't know how you could make a better OP than TE-01. Or MP-44. But some people always come with amazing design years after years so we could still be surprised!

TE and FT have both been having a bunch of QC issues this year. Maybe it's because coronavirus has been affecting the the factory staff, idaknow.

I'm a bit wary, but hopefully there aren't any major issues with my copy. Finally shipped from TFSource, so it shouldn't be long now.

My cell shaded copy showed up this week. It's my first cell shaded figure of any kind, and I think it looks very cool. Hard to believe this is the 4th copy of the TE-01 mold I've purchased now (V1, V2, Black, cell shaded). I'm impressed that TE is still able to milk this mold even now. I hope I'm done with it for good though (only because it seems silly to own so many of one mold).

I want to say that I am doubtful of this, but given that it will take them at the bare minimum at least five years (assuming they start now), it will be defacto better. If its not they will need to close shop IMHO.

However as far as aesthetics are concerned I still, cant see what more improvements they can make. The cell shaded version is like the damned thing jumped out of the screen....

Agreed. I’ve always heard fans give extremely loud praise for FT and their designs. Sure there are FT fanboys all over this site and there isn’t anything wrong with that. Yet for me, the prices and paint chipping and their aesthetics are not something that really speaks to me. I mean for a good bot missing from you’re collection with a G1 toon and toy feel, they really hit the mark. They know it which is why they charge official product pricing. But I’m not here to buy 3rd party products at Official product prices. I prefer the model that Transform Element is following which I think is more successful as a company. Produce something we want. G1 cartoon centric designs and very faithful at a very economical and reasonable cost to include diecast and if necessary minimal paint apps. But paint where it counts and is needed. A very good sales strategy

Wish except Megs, TE did the decepticon triple changers as well. That would be a hit in the gonads of FT and a sight to behold.

The main problem with TE is they are too slow...less than one G1 MP a year, assuming they even continue. For all we know, their next MP style figure could be another...ugh...Bayverse figure. I really hope they don't try drinking from that well again, considering the lukewarm reception of their Bumblebee.

Fanstoys, meanwhile, is pumping out G1 MP figures every few months. This gives fans a realistic hope that we will have every G1 character from Fanstoys in a couple decades, which adds to the hype of collecting them. Whereas at Transform Element's pace we'll have about 50 Transform Element G1 bots (at most) by the time I'm in my 80s. Not fast enough, man.

But anyway, in a few days it'll be a year since they revealed Mirage. I really hope they reveal a new G1 MP soon. I need new figs to get hyped over.

    Νp m8, I figured as much :)

No need to pump many figures. After all most characters are already covered by decent figures. I myself dont plan on replacing anything in my collection, barring Megatron. And we dont all collect Fanstoys exclusively. I for one only have their Galvatron and its less than a months acquisition.
My logic is to get the most out of design/aesthetics/quality and factoring in a correlation with price.

With their current pricing policy they simply put me off the game, as I was warming up to them.

As @skywarp-2 said, TEs current plan of doing their job is where it is at and proves that inflated pricing is just a ton of bullshit (from which ever company).
