That is a really nice looking Dragstrip in both modes. The head looks good. The face as well. Alt mode, bot mode, all look good. The car is less accurate then XTB's, but the bot mode looks more solid, like the other limb bots, but it's a car with less body. Nicely done, DX9
Looks like it can be notched with a file to create the clearance needed. It's too bad they made that piece as tall as they did or incorporated a ball joint in the neck for the head to pivot up to clear the side.
Yeah, I think the really frustrating part is being able to easily see a half dozen possible fixes they could have done that would have changed almost none of the engineering. Personally, I think that entire section that folds out and then tucks back into the chest just seems rushed and poorly thought out, as if they just decided the wait had been long enough and to just release this as-is to have it all done. None of it is a deal breaker for me, just pretty unfortunate.
This is like dx9 Gewalt all over again but much worse Can you at least turn the head sideways so the face isn't staring straight up? Everything else is looking great and I'm sure someone can come up with a cover plate.
If i have to file the piece down that is blocking the nose i'll do it, that is not even close to being acceptable. Hell, if they even just gave him the slightest bit of backwards head tilt it'd be no problem in terms of clearance. I think the bot and car are really nice but i'm kinda glad their designer left if he thought having the face exposed like that was acceptable. Hopefully this isn't the end for DX9, though. Edit: Does anyone know if the tires are hard rubber or plastic?
I get the complaints about the face peeking out in alt mode but I don't get the complaints about robot mode. Imo he's the best looking one of the cars hands down. No skinny ass side profile Menasor looks fantastic too.
People gotta bitch about something. I was gonna wait on this but the idea that DX9 might actually dip out made me lock in a copy at ShowZ.
I watched the video and there's only the tiniest movement backwards and not enough to angle it up. It can tilt forward though but that doesn't help. So unless someone figures a way to get more tilt backwards or the more harsh option of filing a groove for the nose to slide passed face-down then we're stuck with his face poking up. I imagine there will be more options to deal with this after everyone gets their hands on it. On a positive note I think the alt mode and robot mode are nice. It's too bad this one issue is tainting everything else.
The head does not worry me, a little custom. The hands are a bit thin, it's true, but this robot is very beautiful and faithful.

Beautiful and faithful? I disagree. Xtb and fans toys versions are beautiful and faithful to the character. Dx9’s looks like the either the designer or whoever makes the final decision of the what the figure looks like just didn’t give a darn. All of the dx9 stunticons look like the quota for a design to be approved and produced is that they resemble the character but that’s not what masterpieces are. They are either the original design recreated perfectly in plastic form or a more modern take on that. These are neither.

Agreed, this is by far the most attractive Dragstrip to my eyes. The gold breaking up all of that yellow is brilliant. I’m absolutely confident I can figure out a solution for the head in alt mode, or that someone here can. Dead End has small hands too but I don’t notice them at all in person. Ship to me nao ShowZ! I needs it!
Be careful. The person doing the review tried rotating the head 180 degrees and ended up nicking the nose.
