    @Dudaisamazing -

    Aye.

The thing is though, no one company is going to randomly decide to do a cast of characters, just for the sake of doing them. Especially not if there was other really viable options available - eBay or not. This would be extremely costly and extremely risky.

You can bet MMC will never, ever do a take on Prowl, or another Six Shot. It just isn’t worth their time/money.

I’m sure the same reason why they never released their own IDW Springer is because the Has/Tak version was *much* cheaper and it was a fantastic figure from Hasbro for a price/“performance” ratio. They could never beat that. In fact, much (if not all) of their IDW/Reformatted line was basically molded around that figure as a base.

G-Creations was set to release their own Raptor Style IDW seekers, and Ultra Magnus for that matter - but it’s yet to be seen if they will ever actually materialize.

Your best bet, if you want some of these figures that are no longer available is to check the B/S/T section often and yes; take a gander at eBay now and again. Most of us here have had to pay the “late tax” on more than one figure — it’s just the name of the game.

Guzzle. Who ironically enough, comes in a 2-pack with Brawn.

Thanks! I didn't realize MMC made a Brawn. I still haven't read the IDW stories (I want to, but it's quite the investment!) so these guys are cool but largely unfamiliar to me. If I collected Cybertron-mode figures I'd be very tempted with MMC's offerings. I've almost pulled the trigger on more than one of them just because the robot modes are so well-done, but so far I've resisted.

Last Stand of the Wreckers. Great standalone story and one of the best of the entire franchise. And bonus, Guzzle's a Wrecker!

If you wanna try, start with that or Infiltration (the very first of the entire series!).

Here's the order i've used, though LSotW is absolutely standalone, despite some callbacks in later separate stories. I recommend stopping once you finish More Than Meets The Eye though, Lost Light and RID/Till All Are One that follows it is just, eugh, in my opinion.

Thank you for the recommendation! When I look at the compilations on Amazon, it's a bit overwhelming. I hear a lot of people say "IDW is just so political", but I keep finding the various series cartoons too simple for my tastes. I'm not the "intellectual" type, but I need a bit more meat on the bone and I'm hoping IDW can provide it.

Regardless if it’s good, there’s probably something worthwhile written within IDW. I’ve certainly enjoyed reading it at least. Even though I only caught on shortly before the reboot.

I have a very good feeling the ones who say that mostly turn to James Roberts' work (the guy who did More than Meets the Eye and Lost Light), without giving out spoilers, while I consider everything in MTMTE pre-a certain event that kinda leaves a lasting impact in a couple aspects, comic gold, the rest of the series had a gradual downshift from there, with Lost Light being the crash and burn. The cast begins to be bloated, the story isn't the most sensical, VERY stupid moves are taken with some characters, almost making them on the level of a Mary Sue, etc.

The biggest problem of it though, to me, is trying to give a new character a, to put it lightly, a human problem that has become much more relevant since the past couple of years, when it felt like it was just put in the forefront during that specific time to get brownie points rather than to tell a good story, and also this is a ROBOT, not a human, but anyhooooooooo... Said character wasn't even well written.

So yeah, now you see why I heed my warning about it, haha. Phase 1 though was fun, basically as close to classic Transformers as it gets while making the stakes higher and more realistic. Regardless, if you indeed tackle it, I hope you get as much enjoyment out of it as you can!

The thing is my friend, if you’re a decent human being, none of the content and/or “political” content should ever bother you. I don’t mean this in any offending way, but if you’re a NON-racist, sexist, homo/transphobe; nothing should bother you in these books.

It is true they deal with “human” problems - but I think the correct thing to say is if there IS other intelligent life out there; you can be sure as shit they had their own wars and trials and tribulations over some of the same exact things humans do — whether they’re “machine” beings or otherwise.

There is lots of good stuff in IDW. I grew up with G1 but IDW quickly overtook my love of G1. That’s how great I thought it was.

It is not without flaws; but at least it wasn’t a series of 22 minute toy commercials designed to sell toys to male children under the age of 10.

He asked questions and got them? We’re still on topic as we’re lightly discussing things that these toys are based off of? There is no reason to feel threatened/offended? I’m sorry if my reply was a little long winded, but he deserved to know because he sounded legitimately interested?

    Have a nice day?

That's a pretty broad assumption there. I know a lot of people who are none of the things you mention or characterize people as who had issues with the "political" problems. Myself included. And mostly because it was thrown in at the time just because and did nothing the advance the story. The whole Arcee being transgender and it was FORCED upon her and not her choice is kind of offensive....the whole Ratchet/Drift relationship that was more brotherly than romantic until the very last issue of the series because even in the Drift mini I saw them as the Sam/Dean Winchester of the Transformers world....the fact the only male/female bot relationship was very quickly disregarded and wiped from the females memory like it never even happened and the male killed off. Just stupid things thrown in that had nothing to do with anything other than making a statement. Cyclonus/Tailgate and Chromedome/Rewind made sense. They were well developed relationships that also advanced the narrative as a whole. The writing was more interesting dealing with Megatron's redemption and the growing respect Ultra Magnus began to have for him and started to look to as a mentor was a far more compelling story that was oh Megatron save these guys now lets throw him in an alternate universe and forget about him.

Ah... by "political" I thought it was being compared to something like the Star Wars prequels, with all of the bland Senate talk and simmering fascism. If it's simply presented in the context of realistic social complexity, then I'm fine with that. It's 2020, and I'm a free-thinking adult. Thanks for the clarification!

Apologies, friend. It was me that initially got things off-track by mentioning my interest in the IDW comic, which is itself relevant because MMC has focused so heavily on IDW characters recently. But I respect the desire to steer the thread back to the figures themselves. Carry on!

I like those earlier fembot molds better than the overtly curvy "pinup" style that Arcee et. al. have more often been receiving. What's your opinion of them? I realize they're not cartoon-accurate, but my views of females aren't stuck in the 80s, so neither are my opinions of fembots. "Svelte warrior" is cool... "sexy robot" is kind of creepy.
