Yeah I got mine from show z too. I may have to say nay as well. Just too much and my priorities are getting my Xmas shopping done and hopefully the XTB Menasor trailer.

 

Same here, with some show.z points I can get it for £122.

Paid £128 for Andras.

I'm not sure which way to go, would have been nice if it was sub 100.

 

Same for me. Unless it turns out to be a 2 or 3 pack I really can't justify the price. XTB misjudged this one

 

So since I had £30 in points with showz I paid for this meaning it only cost me £100. I'm still not sure it's worth it but hopefully I'm not too disappointed in it when it gets here.

 

For around 100 total I would still bite. Though sure as heck its still too much. I just put an order for XTBs Swarm pack at 350$ (which is still a price increase over the first issue but what the heck). That is a complicated transformer x3 with a load of extra accessories....If someone explains to me how these guys cost less vs 3 eggs, ill shut my trap.

And no, the fact that they are reissues doesnt cut it as an arguement, the first issue's price was less even.....

 

I agree with you there. I wanted the swarm but I couldn't get the money together.

Just gonna put this in here as well, for anyone PO'ing Dr. Egg from TCP. From TCP themselves through email correspondence (was asking about a specific couple items, hence the semi-odd selection, haha).

 

I like the concept of the features / electronics / gimmicks. . Just too pricey when there is a cheaper and possibly better looking Hasbro alternative out there. The lack of paint makes these really look like a white egg with faces. Too much white. They look almost unpainted in the videos I've seen. I'm guessing corners were cut when they found out they would be going up against Hasbro. I mean the Hasbro has more simple gimmicks with more playability and look better; plus they even transform! . Even the mouths are movable on some faces.

XTB/KFC are near my favorite third party; just seems they have lost their focus in the past 2 years.

 

for me the only thing the hasbro has going for it are the facesculpts which are really really good , but i can't get my head around how the egg is getting so much praise i think it looks like arse and gappy all for the sake of lets be honest here a REALY SHIT alt mode!! they did not need to make it transform people would have still snapped them up

 

Tell you what, I too share the sentiment that the transformation is a piece of shit that neednt exist at all. And the fact that the cage doesnt lock in place in Quintesson mode infuriates me, and that the tentacles should have been ball joints ffs shake, I am really starting to think that the designers of Hasbro/Takara are stupid. BUT as someone who gets anal about gapage, I can tell you that in person and even up close, you just dont see it.

 

Ok. I’m calling xtb’s bluff. 25$ Store rewards and $150 cash pushed in.

This is the real Hasbro Quintesson alt mode, I'm very please it actually serve a purpose besides just looking good on my shelf.

 

I sincerely hope Dr. Egg can also do this.

Time to flex on the rest of the Quintesson pencil holders out there in the world.

But it would just be too funny, haha. Though the electronics are in there so it would at the very least cause a bit of trouble in making it happen.

When they come up with a spinning version with disco lights, I promise to buy one. Social life is a bit of a drab nowadays. Time to reenact the 90s, Quintesson style!!!
