I wonder why it takes a 3P to show some love for the cool dude Blaster? Sure his G1 toy gets pressed like 3x and the mold degradation is already starting to show, not counting TFC book series, Encore skipped him, same with Rewind ( TFLegends is the only exception). If Hb is going to scrimp, at least make an awesome retool of him!

UM is his own "mold" in Siege, heck he never even got a G1 re-issue since like forever back in 2005..........

I don’t think that Shattered Glass Galvatron should have to use a mold distinct from regular Galvatron, just like Shattered Glass Soundwave shouldn’t have to be based on Ironhide.

Except the torsos need to di very different things thanks to Blaster's tape deck and Preceptor not having that.

SG Megatron already uses a Galvatrony body type. No need to make them use the same body.

I still think TR Black Shadow would make a great base for SG Megatron. He even has the tank component that Energon/SG Megatron came with.

On the same line of reasoning as before, I think that Shattered Glass Megatron could use the same body type as his usual self. I know the original was based on Super Link Galvatron, but the color scheme could still be applied to a normal Megatron body.

We can agree to disagree. I loved SG Megatron being different. In a regular Megatron body, his colors wouldn’t be THAT different. Almost Megaplex colors.

    In terms of Blaster:

What makes him an integral part of TFTM IMHO is that he became an even more important character after the movie. Blaster and Bumblebee (and Soundwave and Astrotrain) were elevated just by surviving the movie and continuing to serve as major characters.

What we know is that Blaster isn't coming in Studio Series in 2021 or Kingdom. Studio Series is only a "probably not" because we have rumors of Wreck-Gar being very far along and nowhere to place him unless SS gets more waves in 2021 than normal years.

We know almost nothing about store exclusives beyond wave 3 Walmart Netflix deluxes. We have seen more extensive store exclusive retools in recent years, notably Netflix Soundwave and Bumblebee and Galactic Odyssey/Selects Ratchet. I think Blaster as a further retool of Netflix Soundwave is plausible for a late year store exclusive line, particularly if he gets a second use as Twincast.

I think second releases of Netflix Bumblebee and Soundwave in slightly adjusted decos feels almost like a given; no way those molds as those characters don't get more releases. I also think we've heard reasonable speculation about a premium deco Arcee and/or Springer without battle damage.

My hunch is this: in late 2021, the Galactic Odyssey equivalent will probably be TFTM characters not in Kingdom or retail SS86 mostly as slightly redecoed rereleases. Blaster as a Soundwave retool. Arcee and Springer as straight redecos. Astrotrain, Soundwave, and Bumblebee as well. Packed as a mix of two packs and with extra accessories. Take Slag's Daniel in exosuit minifigure, retool the head as Spike, pack with Bumblebee in a less orange-y yellow for $30.

If Perceptor makes the cut, I'd bet he's a TR reissue because the tooling budget for such a store line is going to be comparable to Galactic Odyssey (ie. the retooled vans) or Netflix wave 2 (where Soundwave, Elita, and Bumblebee got varying degrees of new tooling).

I think Blaster's best hope is likely in 2021's answer to GO with a slight chance that SS has an extra wave with Blaster and Wreck-Gar and likely displaced Bayformers as the extra wave's deluxes.

Apologies I meant Mainline in terms of western retail channel.

As opposed to a takaratomy mall exclusive in Japan etc.

(Although living in the UK recently what's the difference ;) )

Considering Generations has been the line consistently running for 10 years and released at regular retail, I’d say it definitely qualifies as mainline

The year is 2157. Deluxes are $100. Every character has had at least 2 Generations figures except for Star Saber and Needlenose, who have none. We are still waiting for the perfect G1 Optimus
