Is it just a straight up repaint or does it have some remolding? Like a new head or something?

I would love to get some idea of what Gnaw is gonna be like, so I can really firmly decide whether I'm gonna sell my 3 Legends and 1 Titans Return Sharkticons or not.

From what I've seen Gnaw looks to be a significant step up. I'm not sure on size but feel he might be similar to cliffjumper.

Personally, in your situation I'd just get one SS86 version to have as Gnaw (in bot mode), and use my old figures as an armybuilder sharkiticon horde. Best way to save cash I feel.

Same thing with how the new Scourge will be THE Scourge in my collection and the older versions will become his sweeps. :)

So if there's a Hot rod repaint, there can be a Jazz repaint. Yes! Stepper!

Wreck-Gar or any Junkions they make should be Weaponizer sorta guys. So they can like, take their arms off and re-attach to a different bot.

'design your own Junkion' from a bunch of different combinations could be cool.

Agreed! And I think that Build-a-figure Junkions is the best use of the "build-a-figure" concept, so I'd pack extra parts in with them that lets you have a bonus Junion if you collect them all, but still lets you interchange their parts if you don't.

I don't know if I can find it, but the WFC card game (the one introducing mercenaries) had artwork for Octane that was a real cool sci-fi design. It was a SIEGE style toy and a lot of us saw Rodimus in it. So I would love for it to happen.....but if Rodimus is indeed at the $80 pricepoint then it seems unlikely sadly

So regarding Blaster, I think his biggest problem is the Cassettes. Soundwave had his cassettes as Micromaster class, but that class doesn't exist for SS, and it no longer exists for Generations either. So how does Hasbro do Blaster while retaining his gimmick/associated characters? The only viable option is a leader pack of Blaster + 4 cassettes. But leader class slots are limited, especially now that they're doing the Dinobots. Logistically, we either wait until 2022 or 2023 for a leader pack Blaster, or we settle for a Blaster with no cassette gimmick.

TL;DR - I think the failure of the Micromaster class killed the possibility of a new Blaster for the next few years.

Standard SS released the Arcee triplets as a single deluxe so there is precedent for smaller figures at a standard size. If you can do the Selects 4 pack of cassettes for $20 they could do a "deluxe" of all 4 Autobots.

I hope we get Devastator......if they want to give the Construcicons better articulation, then release them individually and in at least 3 Waves......

You're right, I supoose they could do that. The popularity of G1 chatacters might convince them to do so depite the apparent failure of the Micromaters. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

The latest Voyager assortment has BB Starscream and 86 Hot Rod. Given that, I wouldn't be surprised if they blend in Gnaw and Wreck Gar with other live action stuff in their assortments..
Reportedly an '86 Devastator was on the board room, yet he was ultimately scrapped (possibly in favor of the CW reissue on Amazon). I think they're gonna take a break from releasing huge Combiners over the course of two years. Especially since they've just finished releasing the ROTF Constructicons

    Oh...
Well hopefully that means that there will still be sprinkles of the 86 down the line

I'm pissed if they discussed it and scrapped it! But I suppose if it was discussed once then it can be again. I can dig out my old CW set I got 5+ years ago at TRU but not sure it's up to WFC standards. I don't know if it fits at all.

Yeah I thought it was Slag as well.

The hard part for me is that CW Devastator is in perfect scale with WFC, but the individual members are MP-scale. I don't want to have to buy two devastators, so I think I'll eventually go with CW/UW when I actually look for one, since I feel like an eventual SS86 Devastator would most likely fail to preserve both scales, as it's something that seems impossible to pull off effectively.

Some fans may not be thrilled with it, but there’s nothing to stop HasTak releasing the Cassettes at Core class now, with increased parts and/or added weapons.

I realise it may not be ideal, but I feel the cassettes have been hit and miss due to the Micromaster size / price point, & seeing how popular guys like Bumblebee at Deluxe class & Hot Rod at Voyager class are I think this may be another way to go (and the added budget could mean we get cassettes we couldn’t previously get due to their complexity, like the combiner ones)

I think a single cassette of the same size, even with increased engineering and articulation and more accessories, at $10, would be an even tougher pill to swallow than ER Cliffjumper or SS86 Hot Rod.

I did mean a two pack of cassettes sorry, though admittedly they could even do three cassettes if the budget would stretch (we never really got the Micromasters here in the UK, so I’m not sure what the difference is between that price point and the Core one)
