    Thanks guys!

EDIT: Changed to DHL in advance. My order says the item is "in stock" so hopefully should get payment request soon!

Its not Roy news, but I got a email saying that the VF-25G Renewal I got of ebay from Japan was shipped DHL priority and will be here Tuesday. I think it will be the quickest thing I ever got from outside the US before. ShowZ holds the record currently for getting me FT-41 in 8 days.

Nice. Yeah DHL is super fast with their own planes. I usually get things from Amazon Japan within 2-3 days.

The demand for these toys isn’t as large as you think. Yes, there is demand and people who collect these are willing to pay the price but the difference between a hot model and a not as popular one makes a huge difference. The Max 1A and recent YF-29 reissue have been in stock and even clearance long after release while more popular models like the Hikaru 1J and 1S sell out instantly. With the already relatively low production count Macross toys likely have you can assume that even if they made half as many Max 1As to account for popularity differences, that’s no more than a few thousand units. Business wise, it makes no sense for a corporation to make any more of these and risk letting them sit on shelves. Macross is small peanuts in the world of profit to companies producing high end toys.

I honestly believe there are enough units of DX Macross stuff produced by Bandai to cover the wants of the fans but the issue is a good number of them go to the hands of scalpers. Bandai should really adopt a Hot Toys method of preorder for certain items. Open the PO for a limited time and get in as many orders within that time frame.

Yeah, that’s what TWE is supposed to be like and also how Arcadia seems to be doing it. Either way, there are always people who miss out for whatever reason.

It also doesnt help collectors in the US with Macross. IF HG stopped by turds I'm sure we would see a lot more places stateside carrying these toys instead of 1 or 2 I know of. If you didnt have the knowledge of where to get them overseas all of us would have to solely rely on ebay for any new releases.

It also doesn’t help that people tend to buy multiples, sometimes to excess. 6 of the same figure so you can have it in all three modes both with and without armor? Some Macross fans think that’s not enough.

I think two is enough for display purposes. Anymore than three, your just a fricking hoarder or either that have OCD issues. o_O

Or just burn money like there is no tommorrow.

Yeah, I can’t say and won’t judge others for their collecting habits. We don’t know everyone’s situation so if they can, desire to and have the means, they can do whatever they want and buy as many Valks as they wish. End of day, these are luxury toy products so it’s no big deal either way. Also, because of the HG situation, we are lucky and should be thankful for any shops that are willing to sell items they technically should not be selling to anyone outside of Japan. Not long ago, it was much, much, much more difficult to get Macross toys.

I think 2 is the magic number for me ;)

But I wont judge others for their collecting habits either.. some want 2, some want 3, etc.

If you want them , and can get them. sure , go for it.

the way I see it, if they can get 2 then they are working 2x as hard , if they are got 3 then they are working 3x as hard as someone getting one.
If they are not working harder then they are spending more to get it. It's either time or money , which ever is more affordable ;)

Caved and bought one on ebay with free shipping. I hope those taxes and fees aren't too high.

I believe some folks at MWF, who ordered from Amazon, have started getting theirs shipped.

I've been charged by Amazon JP but haven't gotten a shipping notice yet. Probably get the email on Sunday night.

Sadly it’s the inflated price, but I sucked it up because I didn’t want to deal with the headache.
Hopefully you get your ship notice soon! I ordered July 4 according to the invoice.

Thanks! I just hope it ships and don't leave me out dry. I ordered on July 3rd.

Quick question: what shipping method did you used EMS or DHL/FEDEX?
I picked EMS in the chaos of PO night. I placed a ticket to upgrade, hoping that helps get it shipped.
