Because it wouldn't be G1 accurate, that's my guess. To get an accurate Blaster, the retooling would need to be so extensive, it might as well be a new mold. The gimmickry is there though.

But that's just it, the Evac mould fit perfectly for SG Galvatron. It had a surprising amount of "Galvatron-y" details and shapes, and the idea of him being a rescue chopper fit perfectly.

The WFC Springer mould is, well, undeniably Springer in every way, so it wouldn't make a good SG Galvatron at all.

Turning a truck Prime into an evil truck Prime who used to be a truck Prime isn't the same thing as turning a helicopter guy into a space jet guy.

I meant the comment talking about someone wanting to use Cyclonus, not Springer.

Oh, I see. Yeah a SG Galvatron from Cyclonus wouldn't work.

Honestly, outside of just his general shell, he'd only REALLY need new internals for his shins to have his handle. Otherwise there's little stopping him from being a Netflix Soundwave partial.

Come on, if they can retool Ultra Magnus into Cybertron Optimus Prime, retooling Soundwave into Blaster would be a cakewalk by comparison.

They were talking about turning the space jet guy into another space jet guy (Cyclonus to SG Megatron) and a helicopter into another helicopter (Springer to SG Galvatron)?

I have just one question: Did Blaster play a big role in the 86 movie?

Also, (sort of cross-posting from the TFW2005 Transformers Prime 10th anniversary thread) I have just realized that Gaia Unicron was the first ever Equiptor and that the Arms Microns were sort of the first Battle Masters. Essentially, the WFC Trilogy toyline(s) are/were based upon the original Japanese Transformers Prime Toyline, which was a sequel to the Fall of Cybertron Video Game, which was a sequel to the original War For Cybertron Video Game.

Blaster was in the movie at least as much as jazz was. Also targetmasters were the first battlemasters, trying to say the wfc trilogy is based on japans prime toy line is a big reach

@Cal: I don't consider GUOP to be Cybertron Optimus Prime, I consider it G1 Optimus Prime cosplaying as Cybertron Optimus Prime. And I suspect that Hasbro agrees.

@ both: My point is, no detail on Blaster matches any of Soundwave's details. Their arms are different, their legs are different, their torso is different, etc. It just wouldn't do Blaster justice. Maybe, MAYBE they can share skeletal parts or engineering, but I don't think them sharing an entire mold is a good idea. Again, it's just my opinion.

First paragraph: Blaster had three moments with two being simultaneous. He was the one that notified Prime of the attack, he revealed his own cassette minions (new toys!), and he received the notification about Unicron. Past that his ass was left behind while all the others flew out to handle the big bad.

Second paragraph: that is a whole lot of wrong. The games were only connected to TFP through Hasbro edict and a couple last minute changes to a couple aesthetics in FOC, and the new toyline has NOTHING to do with either the games OR TFP, Japanese or American versions.

RE: Hypothetical SG Megatron: Hrrrm. Someone did a digibash of Super Megatron as SG Megatron, so I'd be interested if that came to fruition. But I think we’d have to see how the upcoming-and-unannounced-but-let’s-face-it-it's-happening Kingdom Galvatron turns out since SG Megatron began as a repaint of Energon/Super Link Galvatron.

(Of course, there’s nothing wrong with getting a proper remake of Super Link Galvy later on, where’s that fragging Armada Optimus, Takara?!)

I am saying the fact that Gaia Unicron was covered in 5 mm ports (like the COMBAT system), Gaia Unicron was essentially an Equiptor, and the whole concept of weapons that combine to form larger weapons.

I'm sure we'll see a Blaster eventually. Hasbro knows a lot of G1 fans want as much of the 84-86 be given the WFC treatment as much as possible and it'd be crazy on their part to not finish off the 86 movie cast. I'm more worried about us seeing the S1 BW cast being completed with Terrorsaur, BW Inferno, and Tarantulas not being in Kingdom's mainline.

I’m sure they’ll get to Blaster again before they do they do Sureshot, Pointblank, and all the other missing 1987+ characters. I’m happy with my TR Blaster, who, with a little paint, makes a great Marvel Blaster.

I’m picky on the BW characters. Only getting my favorites. Megatron, Primal, Blackarachnia, Inferno, Silverbolt, Rampage. Maybe Rhinox if he’s better than the T30 one.

A local collector shop had UT Soundmixer, which I grabbed right up because I had sold mine at the beginning of Titans Return and thought nothing of it. Then, they changed the scale and here we are. Saw him at the store, figured it might be kismet and bought it.

Glad I did. Can't believe he's not in the pipeline, right now.

This is just my own theory but I think if there's a blaster it would share a mold with a new preceptor as it would give the torso the right cartoon proportions on both and it wouldn't take much to retool the transformation slightly.
