Wow, that view is a ton better and I fully understand everything now and see the type of pins. I fully understand if you are worried about breaking and getting a little frustrated, maybe a lot frustrated, but as M Alex said above, those pins do just push out using a flat head screwdriver and nicely pushing into the slotted open area of plastic and those parts should come right off letting you get to the center. If you dont want to deal with it then no biggie, tell showz and if they say no then deal with it. Maybe they will send a whole assembly cuz they can't expect everyone to deal with pressed pins when there is an issue.

Yeah I'll just see what showz has to say before I do anything. If they're able to get the whole thing sent to me, then I'll have the confidence to push the pin out knowing that I have a fall back. I'm absolutely paranoid that they'll send me an equally faulty copy though. Really wish I could have won the qc lottery on this one and I'm so jealous of all the reviewer copies that seem to move perfectly.

Just have another question if you don't mind. I got the knee joint apart but I'm not sure where I should be adding the lubricant. Is it in the space between the two ratchet gears? How permanent of a solution is this?

Anywhere two surfaces moves together is where lube goes, the more the better. With using silicone, you can get it in very thick or thin weights and it will stick and stay on the surface you put it on so I would say permanent solution especially since it will never ruin the integrity of any plastic parts it may get on.

Thanks for all the help. Is any silicon grease fine or are there some specific ones that I should be looking for?
Looking at this listing right now: NEW silicon grease tube 6g ( 030/6 ) Aquarium | eBay

Any silicone is fine, as long as its grease/lube and not RTV silicone which is glue, lol. I have a bunch of consistencies of it that has come from hobby shops for my RC cars but you can get it anywhere.

Yeah, that should be fine. I know it will work for sure, I just can't tell how thick it is. You just want it to stay put and not run off.

I looked it up and it's the same for sure just listed for aquarium o-rings. Same stuff I've gotten in tubes listed for car bushings or seals.

Oof, man. I hear ya. I luckily skirted under the hip issue radar, but one of my Mirage's silver kneecaps won't screw in. Thinking of just getting another and just going from there.

Thinking of actually PO'ing with BBTS for Gabriel, since it would be borderline mentally insane not to go for that price drop. Hopefully that ship sails smoothly.

Nope. I was one of those in the first batch that PO'd and got the water spotting and other issues. Showed them the problem with the lower assembly on my copy and they sent me basically the entire lower body.

Ahh, the U.S.S. BBTS Gabriel ship. I've been on board since August. It is indeed sailing smoothly and I believe it has now circumnavigated the globe for a second time since I placed my order. Two more laps around and BBTS should have Gabriel ready to ship sometime in the 2nd Quarter of some undetermined year. Given the holidays, I really don't think BBTS is going to make the November estimate at this point but I'd love to be incorrect.

I honestly don't care about the wait. My patience is able to test something like this more than usual, especially because of me being able to pick this thing up for less than I paid for GCreations' Sixshot. And THAT thing I paid MSRP for, haha.

I used a local brand, which probably won't be available down under (I'm in Poland). But the packaging specified that its safe for use with plastics, so that's important. The thing you posted looks ok (I actually used the same silicone grease I used on my Gabe on the O rings on my bathroom plumbing - btw, works wonders if they leak)

hey pushing pins out is like the easiest thing in the world especially on a bot this big. if you look at my pic you will see that all i used was a small flathead screwdriver tip to start the pin with a few taps on the handle with another screw driver. then i used the pliers to grab the tiny piece that was sticking out on the end and pull it out.

it really is super easy to knock these out and the groove for the pins makes it very easy to line up. since both sides are identical it makes it easy to spot the side of the pin that is knurled. just go to the side that is not knurled give it a tap or two and enough of the pin will be exposed for you to grab it with the pliers and pull it out. it should just pull right out cleanly since it is a straight pin but if it is a little snug just give it a couple a twist and it will come right out.

just make sure you keep both side flaps folded down. there is nothing really holding pins in and if you had experience you could literally push them out. but since it is your first time just tap tap them into the carpet and call it a day

if you made it that far i would just give it a tap tap if it were me personally.

Really appreciate all the tips everyone. Don't know what I would do without this thread. Hopefully showz doesn't take too long to reply so I cant start working on this thing asap.

i dont know exactly what showz is going to do here. but i seriously doubt they will send you the hip section. it will most likely just be springs and joints if they even do that.

So I just got an email from showz after sales that they'll be getting the part. Hopefully they understood what I was looking for specifically and I don't end up with just some ratchets at my front door.

Not Show.z, but other sellers I've dealt with often ask for a photo of the part up front (even asking for photos of the missing part) and then will shoot you a photo of what they're sending before they post it. Normally I know exactly what is on it's way.
