Wow, would be nice if any store in Utah had anything besides ironworks and wheeljack. Haven\'t seen much passed them

I’ve checked every nearby Walmart and haven’t found a thing. Tomorrow I’ll be hitting the road for other states, so I really hope I can find some *before* Black Friday wipes them from the face retail.

I saw more stores with wave 2 deluxes today but no voyagers. I'm either now seeing seas of Grapples or seas of Snapdragons at stores. One unopened voyager case caught my attention briefly but it was alas more Grapple.

Wheeljack is going to shelfwarm hard.

Which screws up the automatic inventory re-order. Congrats you screwed your store over.

Hopefully then that stock goes to fill the online preorders instead of those getting canceled!

Doesn't work that way. Local store inventory and re-ordering is not tied to the Walmart.com website. Only Ship to Store is tied because they literally go back and pull the SKU off the peg and bring it up to Store Pickup.

How would hiding them screw up automatic reordering? That’s not how that works, the system would only register them as being sold once they were rung in and paid for. Hiding them does nothing to effect inventory unless the employees manually took inventory and they were just so well-hidden they couldn’t be found, and so they ordered more.

He didn’t screw his store over at all.

You getting too hung up on the word inventory, as in taking inventory. As in what happens periodically in all stores.

My point is the system will not order more of that wave until these two are purchased next week because he hid them. If he would’ve bought them today instead of hiding them or left them for someone else buy (which would probably happen quickly because it’s a new wave), The inventory system would order a replacement case right away as long as the SKU is still open.

But now as it stands it has to wait waitThe inventory system would order a replacement case right away. But now as it stands it has to wait until next week when he finally has the funds to purchase his hidden items.

But, if the other stuff does get bought, it'll still restock as there would be only 2 of item in stock. And hypothetically, if the rest of the wave didn't sell, the inventory wouldn't be screwed over by him, rather the shelfwarming repaints.

System won't reorder if still two left in the system. We have theft at the local Walmart (or hidden unpurchased stock), and the system will not auto-reorder for most action figure SKUs. Situation will stay like this until hopefully corrected during Inventory Audit, or if the SKU is cancelled.

Walmart doesn't "auto reorder" at all, at the store level. They buy an item (or an assortment) once, and ship it to all the stores. Once all the store sell out, they may (or may not) order more for the entire district (or whatever they call it). So theoretically they "auto-reorder" when every store a warehouse serves sells out, but it is definitely not at a store level.

Target, on the other hand, will "auto-reorder" as soon as a store sells out of something. The only reason they won't get new stock is if the warehouse is out of stock. For deluxes (as an example) they will normally send one box of wave 1 to every store in the district (that is served by a particular warehouse) then have X amount of stock in the warehouse of the same wave. So if there are 20 stores served and they each get one box of wave 1 the warehouse might also have 25 boxes of wave 1 to send out as the store sell out. Once the warehouse boxes are sent to the stores, nothing happens till they get wave 2. So if one store is sitting on 3 shelfwarmers from wave 1 but another store in the "district" sold 3 cases though and has 0 on hand, that store will get wave 2 while the first store is still sitting on 3 wave 1 figures.

But none of that is “screwing” the store over. So what if it doesn’t automatically order more for next week? Is this week special? Would more not be ordered next week when he buys them then?

Nothing you describe negatively affects anyone or anything. There’s no guarantee they would’ve been bought, so what would’ve happened if they didn’t sell until next week anyway? Inventory isn’t done weekly, and even if it was that would simply mean that the figures would a) be discovered and placed back, or b) not discovered, written off as lost/stolen, and more is ordered anyway and the guy can go back and get the ones he hid.

You’re making it sound like what he did is somehow a bad thing, when it’s not.

It’s not Walmart getting screwed over that I’m talking about is the other collectors that shop at the same Walmart. They are getting screwed over.

Anyway, I ordered Red Alert on Walmart.com- Not a preorder, but he’s entirely available to buy. Wheeljack too.

Red Alert had a ~5$ markup though.

Exactly. There was nothing the last time I checked and I hope the Walmart near me didn't get a shipment just before what I will assume will still be a shopping frenzy today.

What's the best way/site to check inventory for this new wave? The individual UPC (501099378217 for Bumblebee) doesn't seem to work on Brickseek. For Walmart stock, is it usually listed by assortment or individual products?

Can't wait to not find them. Whoever decided to make Bumblebee of all bots an exclusive needs to be smacked upside the head with a ruler.

As popular as he is, I say the same needs to be done to whoever decided Earth Mode Soundwave needed to be a Wal-Mart exclusive as well. I don't know how the logistics work if stores and online share the same warehouses/distribution centers, but it is discouraging seeing the stores getting their stock in first while alot of us are still sitting on pre-orders that Wal-Mart has not already cancelled yet.

I would rather have Soundwave than the Sea of Grapples or now the Sea of Snapdragons at stores.
