That chest beating/madly flailing Kermit arms sword-slashing/chain mace-bashing action is up there amongst the best TF gimmicks ever executed IMHO, and with unlocking for posing switches to boot? An apex we may not see again in a world of diminishing plastics!

Might have to dig out my Primal for a quick flail TBH! :lol

Is it just me or was there also a gimmick where his arms would spin instead of beating?

That's what I was referring to with:
It was a chest-beating or melee fighting action.

Yeah, good, I watched a couple reviews of the original Primal toy whilst doomscrolling through Youtube and nobody mentioned it, thought I was going mad

Geez! That's a major gimmick to miss!
I did misremember though, the bicep switches aren't to unlock for posing (I've conflated them with G1 Sky Lynx's buttons I'll wager) they switch the mechanism from shoulder swingin' (for the chest-beating) to the elbows doing a kinda "wax on/wax off" side-swipe. The joints are ratcheted for poseability so you don't lose any for having the action feature though.

This reviewer has transformed it properly (since he has instructions), it's not that he has reverse knees, it's that he has no knees. Which is arguably worse?

Yeah, I still don't hate it. Don't love it either, wont be buying it, but it's okay. I like the look of an ape with two swords on his back lol. Feel like they could have done something else with the lower body though, it's literally just ripped straight from the original BW toy with no improvements.

Wouldn't it have been better to bump him up to Leader class so they could do the legs properly? YIKES.

I was initially going to defend it as accurate to the original toy but then it occurred to me that with whole technically downscaling and modernising, well, a bit more gorilla mobility seems a pretty minor but great improvement in exchange for what's been "lost". That animal statue effect of a lot of beast modes is often what puts me off them, it put me right off TR Alpha Trion initially for instance (fortunately I happened across one of the Tesco clearance ones, and couldn't turn down a Voyager that cheap! After a bit of sprucing up I discovered his charms that outweigh that deficit), action figure to inaction figure alts that can't pose ain't great if it isn't a solid vehicular object.
I can't help wondering if the engineering on them fancy deploying forearm cannons has come at the price of gorilla knees, or lack thereof?

I think I’ve bigged Cobra Kai up on a few occasions, and I think my initial foray was as a result of @incapable hulk a couple of years ago when it was initially on YouTube.

It’s a lovely slice of throwback 80s cheese.

Me when I see the runtime for the TF Youtube review for a regular mainline figure is 30+ minutes:

You know, I hope Toyhax make some stickers for the Prime 2-pack. Doesn't seem like they ever did any for the original Takara release of these molds and with how poor quality the original stickers are it seems like it would sell well IMO

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the 'expected in stock' date for Bumblebee has changed to 04 Dec to 11 Dec on the Smyths website... :(

Ouch. Hope there isn't a knock-on effect with the 3-packs too!

I find it all inexcusable in a lot of ways because the articulation is why I'm back for modern Transformers and other lines. Otherwise what's the point? It's a statue in ape mode basically, and has badly concealed hinges and joints with a shitload of red and white breaking the illusion even further round the back. Robot mode has shoulders Rattrap could sit on, an arse for a crotch... There were early 90s transforming TMNT figures like this, some of them had better ideas!

All the effort seems to have gone into the face and body sculpts with the engineering being a total throwback in a half-assed line that might struggle anyway. I think I'm starting to see why the hardcore are saying they won't support these.

    They certainly pop now dude!
Typical isn't it? Might have a wee gander and see if any sticker sets can tempt me.

Black Friday tis a fools game. The wife and I have mutally agreed it would be in our best interest to get ourselves a Switch for Christmas, and anytime a good deal pops up, the feckers are gone before I can wiggle my eyebrow. Apparently Aldi will be selling them cheap at midnight tonight, but alas, for reasons, they don't ship to NI.

Clear my arse! Somebody obviously went to the Hutz school of law
