hey guys, I wasn't sure where else to ask this so i figured id try here: My Toyworld constructor took a tumble off the shelf today and broke in three areas, I was wondering what type of glue would be best to fix these? Super glue is the most obvious option, but I want a more permanent bond. I know plastic weld is also a thing, and I actually have some but for some reason, it doesn't seem to do the job, maybe the one I have is only designed to bond styrene sheets. Any help would be appreciated, as luckily the pieces that have broken do still fit together snugly.

    THANK YOU IN ADVANCE !

I have something called SciGrip Weld-On which is fairly permanent - if it works. It's basically clear acrylic suspended in a solvent, so it effectively melts the plastic together and (hopefully) fills any gaps. You buy it based on how thick you want it, lower numbers being thinner, with the thicker stuff taking longer to set. It's mostly meant for acrylics but can work on a fair few other materials as well.

But it's not perfect. Since "plastic" is a hugely broad term there's stuff that the solvent simply doesn't work on. I've repaired a small peg on a Bandai figure without problems, but utterly failed at some sunglass arms. No idea what the sunglasses were made of, mind you, so I've no idea whether that was technique or just an outright incompatibility. I've used it on PLA 3D prints as well, though you have to use it sparingly in that case or else it can soften large areas (not sure if that's the solvent wicking through or the reaction creating too much heat).

Constructor is most likely going to be ABS and/or polypropylene (PP), so it should work. You might even be able to achieve similar results with just acetone if it really is that clean of a break.

HA! Yeah, she's pretty rad... and she puts up with most of my $#!%... so there's that!!

KFC's Crash-Hog has been great so far! And he plays a mean axe!

    20200329_124030_HDR~2.jpg
    "I HAVE THE POWER!!!!!"

    sorry, wrong show.

    20200803_165407_HDR~2.jpg
    20200329_123141_HDR~3.jpg

Just look at those articulated KFC fingers working that fret-board!

Now apparently it's not all wine and roses for Crash-Hog. I have read some discouraging things about his facial hair. Evidently, it has become brittle and snaps off.

    A Crash-Hog without facial just ain't a Crash-Hog.

    20201119_173913_HDR~2.jpg

So, because of that fear, I haven't attempted transformation.

But @Primeconvoy1 might be able to offer a more qualified review/opinion of all the KFC Junkions!! Those photos on page 546 had me drooling over my phone.

Sigh... If I were only made of money.

On the 2nd thought, I realize now that if I were made of money, people would beat it outta me like I was a piñata.

Wreck-Gar vs Lord Raptor. Shred-off. I wanna see it happen.

    upload_2020-11-24_21-54-58.png upload_2020-11-24_21-55-34.png

Guess that settles it, i'm gonna have to keep an eye on him! Guess i'll have to figure out how to take off that head or however tf I don't kill that killer 'stache.

Gotta since I technically finally am delving into Season 3 stuff. Just bought MP Hot Rod (MP-28) a couple minutes ago. I overpaid with TFSource, I really really did, and I ain't gonna lie about it. But I have no regerts, haha.

Aside from Wreck-Gar, i'd only really be getting Gunker and Dregs. I legit believe they are the Tag and Bink of Transformers. Only cause I see them as the prime dynamic duo on that level. They're no Sideswipe and Sunstreaker or Runabout and Runamuck by any stretch, but they're one pair if i've ever seen one. Or maybe Runabout and Runamuck would fit that role better but eh, I don't give a fuck right now, haha.

Look i'm on a roll so i'll just double up, Transistor and Ollie. Especially wondering about Ollie since i'm pretty sure NO ONE will be making a Wheelie anytime soon, haha.

With possibly the weirdest Thanksgiving in our lifetimes (thus far... who knows what's to come) only about a day away...

I thought about how a Cybertronian Thanksgiving might be almost as weird... almost.

"Before we dine on rich succulent energon, a toast... to the valiant struggle that our armies have fought, in pursuit of universal domination."
    20201124_172021_HDR~3.jpg
"But the Autobots don't fight to dominate the universe?"

"Are you sure about that, Prime? Given the opportunity, the oppressed will always become oppressors!!"
    20201124_172556_HDR~2.jpg
"The problem with your generation is that you..."

"Megatron PLEASE!! Can't we just enjoy a meal together... a couple of times a year?"
    20201124_172220_HDR~2.jpg
"Trust ME! There's no reasoning with him when he gets like THAT!"

"And how is everything?! Do the energon coctails pack just enough spark?!"
    20201124_175240_HDR~2.jpg
"Ahh yes! A fine establishment, with finer cuisine!"

"But I think you should upgrade your seating!"
    20201124_173231_HDR~3.jpg
"Does anyone need any pesto? I'm sittin on a jar of pesto."

"Hey, what's Astrotrain standing over there for?"
    20201124_175105_HDR~3.jpg
"I got here early. I'm standing over here for the next scene."

I've had some pretty weird Thanksgivings, so tbh this year's is actually pretty normal.

Also How do you do it? How do you get these figures looking so expressive?

Here are my favourite new figures picked up this year. Some were released before 2020, but I only just got to experience them. Who do people have in the running for favourite figure of 2020?

    HAPPY TG!!!

I guess it's not a happy TG if your on the menu... or if your not from the States... and even if yer from the States... TG in the year 2020 might only offer limited happiness...

Hopefully TG 2021 will offer a return to pre-2016 normalcy!!

    As requested...

Transistor is the 'beat-meiser' and Ollie spits the rhymes!!

    20201125_152948_HDR~2.jpg
"BOOM TO TH' BAP... OLLIE LIVES TO RAP... AND SINCE 1986 THEY BEEN RIDING MY BRISK... DELIVERY STYLE... UP-N-DOWN THE ISLE... WITH TRANSISTOR ON DA BEATS TO MAKE YOU MOVE YER FEET!!"

And who can forget when they pioneered rap-metal with the help of Crash-Hog!

    20201126_120029_HDR~2.jpg

I have not really taken the time to transform these guys... but both are pretty solid figures.

I had a bit of bad luck with Transistor when I first got him... his hand broke apart and I needed to acquire a new hand and arm assembly from XTB/KFC.

But, they were completely great about everything and I think it cost me all of five or ten bucks to get the parts and fix the issue.

    20201125_165349_HDR~2.jpg

Quick question for you? That image you posted of Wreck-Gar shredding... that looks pretty awesome!! What is it from?

    20201125_174431_HDR~2.jpg

    Thank you @octobotimus !!!

Yeah... moat of our Thanksgivings usually include a barrage of sardonic comments, arguments, veins popping out of my head, some screaming... and then the semi-sober drive home.

    GOODTIMES!!!

So... for figures without mouth-plates, it always helps if the manufacturer provided multiple expressions.

    20201124_180052_HDR~2.jpg
    "Ah HATE pesto!!"

I can never tell if my perception of a 'good pose' is the same as someone else's. But I suppose it boils down to patience and lighting.

Sometimes, something will look good from a five or six foot (two meter) perspective, but when I crouch down to 'figure-height' I realize it doesn't work at all... then you gotta tweak it... then other figures fall over and you gotta set everything up all over again.

    HA!! You caught that!?! Oops!!

Aside from some orange 'ark' panels printed on corrugated board, I don't really have much in the way of 'furniture'. And I certainly don't have adequate seating.

So I find myself using anything I can find to serve as 'chair'... in this case... jars of pesto and other green herbs.

I actually wasn't thinking about what I was picking up and when I realized the word 'sativa' was emblazoned on the container, I did my best to crop most of it away.

On a botanistic side-note... hops are also a member of the Cannabaceae family of flowering plants.

But I'm always looking for stuff to use as props. For example... this Energon Spa once housed shrimps and cocktail sauce.

    IMG_20190302_111910~2.jpg

At one time I thought I'd customize some household items to repurpose them as Cybertronian photo-props, but my precision crafting skills are... inadequate.

    Cheers Friends!!

Happy Thanksgiving to you too, brother!

Always love even for a simple second opinion on a certain figure that i'm always greeted with some wonderful shots, always appreciated!

God those two look so good, haha. I'm personally looking out for FT's Blaster that was teased last year, but I can't deny even for a second that Transistor is just, WOW. Even without the metallic paint he's still a looker. Ollie as well, wew boy. Still wish we got some extra faces with the pair, that being my only complaint without having them in-hand yet.

Also that Wreck-Gar photo comes from none other than Mr. Alex "MarkerGuru" Milne himself, haha. All his stuff is a sight to behold, goddamn. I ain't one to really have mastered the pencil (I'm not the best artist, though whenever I do, I almost always go with physical stuff much like Alex, funnily enough, though I am also looking around for an actual drawing tablet with a screen alongside some hella good markers and other tools of similar fare), but he truly is an inspiration.

And before it slips my mind as I just noticed, Quietus T, how's that deco treating you in comparison to the original? I'm gonna probably end up with that since some rumblings originally from Dalianjj are pointing to a reissue of the pink-hued Armada leader himself, haha.

Thanks... after looking at his other works, I realize I have seen Alex Milne's works before. I like it... a blend of technical detail, slight bit of post-manga, and street-art!! And I don't think I saw him use any Micron pens. Their 0.005 and their brush-tip pen remain my favourite technical/comic-art pens of all time.

    Now onto FansToys Quietus!!

FT-29T Quietus might be my favourite figure in my collection!! I realize that is a grandiose statement... one I don't say in passing.

    20201123_183608_HDR~2.jpg

I'm getting close to the end of my collection goals... but if this figure is reissued at a time when I have the surplus money, I'd get a second one for display in alt-mode.

    20201001_165044_HDR~2.jpg

Seriously... this guy is pretty AMAZING!! Even though his transformation process is a bit... involved, everything works as it should in a straightforward manner!

He looks great posing, or skirmishing!

Now bear in mind, we haven't received our FT-10 Phoenix reissues yet.

But so far... for 2020, this might be my favourite figure that I've picked up all year!

Hehe he's my least favourite MP, so I keep him in car mode. Such a shame, cause he's one of my favourite characters.
