NA looks better usually for me, paint / finish / sleekness, except the hands, which bring it down a lot with the no open fist option or like the magic square one. With the open hand for shockwave, New Age might just be right. I might restart buying legends because of this figure...

*sigh* i was happy with how the IF/PT shockwave still scaled and looked fine with NA soundwave, and hoping NA would release this later and get back to concentrating on autobot figures.

that being said, i'll take NA over MS that's aesthetically better looking bot, as well as for scale, given MS will probably be as tall as soundwave, which is too big for my main legend collection which is now mostly NA.

NA vs MS---All depends on exactly how they fit/scale in alt-mode, with the various 3P Bruticuses.

Not sure, but one thing for sure is that the cg we seeing now is not the latest. Newage have comment on weibo that this design dated back together when they first show their H22 Reflector. Newage also said that the new product will be slightly different since they still tweaking the design.

NA doesn't use light piping on their figures, which doesn't work very well in most cases anyway. especially at legend scale. :p

plus the render has yellow eye and the plastic in the back is clear purple so doesn't seem likely.

Yay! I've been waiting for someone to try Shockwave. MS's looks decent but I kinda prefer the NA aesthetic.

Hopefully toy colors Shockwave and gray Shackwave are done too.

They need to take a page from MST's book and quit it with the hollow legs. But otherwise: WOW!

I think that’s what they’re going to try for. It’s another logical step towards the ‘mini MP’ status that gets thrown around regarding NA/MS.

    Fiiiinally!

Of the two I prefer NewAge's... there's something a little off about the MS proportions and head sculpt, and the skirt plate looks a little too messy and greebly. But I do like MS's thighs and feet better. And I think MS has the stronger alt mode.

I mean, it's Shockwave, so there's no question I'll be getting both. :)  And any repaints they do. Come on NewAge... Galactic Man is a must, but you KNOW you want to do a yellow SG Shockwave too. It would be the first time the character existed in plastic!

Just like Soundwave, I'm buying both MS and NA. Different but equally fun representations of the character. Hot damn I love the legends game right now.

yes, can someone explain why NA puts cut slots on the shoulders, hips and thigh where the mushroom pegs/ball joints are? is it for easier/better tolerance and fit? reduce plastic stress???

i wish those could be removed.

Too bad, wish they waited a little longer to reveal the newer render. Guess they felt pressured to reveal something by Magic Square's announcement.
I like the bulk of MS better, but once they start showing prototype pictures NA Shockwave will probably look better.
But Shockwave is one character that won't be helped as much by NA better paint jobs.

Hot damn. Looks like I need to make another pre order. He looks perfect to me.
    MS looks a bit puffy.

Pretty sure it has to do with the injection molding process and wall thicknesses of plastics.
