I'd probably be excited about this if I didn't already know they'll be charging north of $50, and I don't see him being worth it. At all. And that's before everyone jumps in and uses all the OTHER overpriced NA figures as some kind of example why it's perfectly okay. MS could win this one easy if they simply sell there's at $30-$35 or so (which they won't). And truth be told, while I have the Iron Factory version, I'm kind of on the hunt for that one, SLIGHTLY OS version that came out (not the MFT dark-purple one, he's too big). If I found that, I won't even care about these two in any way.

They both look good and I'll be getting both. The price is decent on these.

Spectacular news! Oh man. This comparison is very similar to comparing Fanstoys Quakewave and Takara MP-29 as I remember. Both look splendid, but ultimately the NA has those lovely curved legs and knee-caps that really do it for me even if the other option is an outright beefy and impressive take. I'm fully expecting it to be the same height as their soundwave too.

Plus display stand! That's a nice touch, speaking for a darker toy variant as well to be kept in alt-mode:)

Third NA reveal in a row that I could have stood to wait much longer for, in favour of S1 autobots. IF / PT Shockie fills in just fine... obviously this guy is nicer.. but c’mon NA.. there are bigger holes.

Magic Square's has such great sculpts that are different enough that I'd pick up both. If they had NA's plastic quality, they'd be equal to me.

But NA just feels better imo

New Age looks like it comes with a hose and a stand for the pistol mode so right there that's a huge advantage. But both look like great little toys so I'd be fine with either.

I don’t think they care about IF releases. Besides, the IF one (which I have and love) isn’t G1 (not really). After making all the first episode cons I’m glad to have a proper Shockwave to go with them and finish it.

There’s still a long ways to go in the legends game, you’ll get your S1 Autobots eventually. I’m hoping for a Jetfire personally.

They still have to introduce NA H24 till NA H26 and Na H29 till NA H34. That is 9 figures, not enough to complete the G1 S1 Autobots, even without the Dinobots, but a chance to get very far.

Hmmn, another close one. Magic Squares has a more beefy solid body that fits well with a lot of the cartoon portrayals and character model, but New AGe fits in with the more lanky sleek look of their Megatron.
I'm not a huge fan of the feet on New AGe's (look very similar to their Megatron feet and are a little thin for my taste). I prefer the bigger eye on the New Age version, but I'm not convinced about what os either a translucent arm cannon or maybe a purple chromed one? I think it's translucent? Either way, it looks wonky. I think I prefer the matching paint on Magic Squares.
It's safe to assume that the final Magic Square version will have a hose, though it's unlikely to have an alt mode stand.
Other pics are showing a mix of solid and translucent hands and a clear arm cannon on Magic Squares... again I prefer the opaque matching colour look. Hopefully, New Age offers both options as well.
I assume height will be pretty similar for both because they tend to match quite closely at the taller end of the scale.
Both look great in Alt mode, though I think Magic Squares looks a little cleaner.

There's no clear winner here for me. Reflector, Soundwave, Shockwave - they've all been too close to call between these two companies. Reflector at least had a great alt mode from NA and a great bot mode from MS so their was kind of a clear choice depending on what you wanted. But Soundwave and Shockwave are both almost neck and neck for me. I may have to do a double-dip and get one of each an then decide once they're in hand which gets alt and which gets bot on my shelf.

Still, its exciting times and great to have options.

Yeah there’s still a lot of gaps in their numbering system that haven’t even been shown before we get to their Stunticons.
