I honestly have little to no problem with how he looked in the cartoon. Those shoulders though...

It looks like he has the narrowest shoulders known to man and bot. That's my only problem with the cartoon model.

That's the one thing that should be fixed across the board when making a Stunticon set.

Tbf toon Superion is similar to Menasor but doesn't seem to get as much criticism. His main torso doesn't look anything like Silverbolt and the legs are also a standalone design with two jets stuck on the back of the calfs. Even the arms sometimes looks like jets stuck rather than being the arms themselves, as with Menasors. They're still my two favourite combiners though. I lost count of the number of times I watched key to vector sigma growing up.

From what i've seen, Superion's problem instead is the length of his arms, other odd cartoon-exclusive details aside, of course.

    FINALLY got Gravestone yesterday.

Color me impressed! About time I got a figure that has me thinking positively.

What was "the thing" about Gravestone, though? The chest? I know there were multiple complaints about something...

I think it's the waist hinge. Prone to stress marks. Because quality over speed.

    ROFL.

    Hmm.
    Thanks.

Yeah, that sounds right. I haven't taken a good look in good lighting at that.

I'm so amazed at how Gravestone looks, that I've become far more patient about the trailer. Three or four of the figures have some defects to some degree, but the team look and pose great as non-combiners.

Ok. Someone give me the tl:dr on this toy version. I’m trying to decide which I want and I like this look most I think. I started DX9. Swapped to FT. Now I’ve seen this. I can’t decide.

Breakdown, Dragstrip, and Deadend have been released for the "youth" aka toy versions, Wildrider and Motormaster have not.
All three have remolded parts to look like the original toys and Breakdown has been upgraded to being painted. They are the same size as a takara autobot carbot. Breakdown and Deadend I think look amazing. Dragstrip is fine and keeping to the toy version but the paint on the face kind of washes out any kind of detail. XTB have not released any info or further pics beyond the one you posted of Toy Menasor. Also don't know if the trailer will have different versions or will be configurable between toy and toon.

I haven't noticed any breaking/cracking on my Youth Dragstrip's shoulders but that has been the main QC issue with the set so far. I love them and wish I knew they were doing toy versions before I bought all 4 limbs (grumbles about having purchased 3 full sets now)

Thanks for that summary. I am building my collection around toon accurate G1 pieces but Menasor is the one combiner that I completed as a kid and the toy version is kinda giving me second thoughts about having a one off from my collections rules. Guess I will just have to wait and see a little bit longer for final details before pulling the trigger on this set, and the late taxes that come with waiting.

Alright, hopefully my wording here is understandable enough but I think I've figured out the whole situation on how the toy look of menasor might be achieved. I've attached some photos with circles, so hopefully everything can be understood.

Okay, so here's my first observation. The two areas circled seem similar enough in the photos, so I'm gonna assume they are the same places on the figure. from that, the Ramp is directly connected to the back of the trailer and is near the section circled in the first picture. That means that the chestpiece on the facebook photos shown is probably the ramp. So why is it different in both photos?

I've made some lines showing the cuts in the chest, so here's my theory. The chest/ramp is made of two parts, one that is behind the ramp, and the other that is on top, and can do a 360 rotation to hide menasor's chest. So how does this have anything to do with toy menasor's look?

look at the extension port here. I'm thinking an addon kit for the figure will come out where you can get a roller car among other things for the toy look, and the roller car plugs into here. That way you can have both the toon look, and you don't take apart the figure and replace any parts for the toy look. I attached some bonus screenshots that show how some of the trailer is hid in the robot mode also

PS: can we finally have this figure now??? It's almost been a year since gravestone released!!!

How about the shins and torso. Clip on parts? Don't think so. The toy trailer will be its own thing.

I'm not sure, but This is all I could reverse engineer from looking at the pictures. Sorry to let anyone down.

If it is an add on kit I hope they mention that when the trailer is released or its released alongside it. I don't want to have to track down a trailer after the fact :)
