I always think it’s funny when people argue “but we called wonder bread and they said they have no record”. I guess you never worked a job where people called you asking random crap you didn’t care about: “ yeah let me check the records real quick....nah I got nothing”
For me, Beast Man and Man-At-Arms were the most difficult figures to find from the first wave. I only saw them on the pegs twice and I bought them the second time.
I was in South Carolina yesterday and finally got to see a shipper full of wave 1...they had everybody...the pegs in the aisle were full of them as well. Lol.
Well I still would like to find an elusive Sky Sled with Prince Adam, but I recently finished getting the rest of the first wave of the MOTU Origins line. So far, very satisfying. Currently my second favorite toy line. Can’t wait to get more.
I’m new to this thread, just found it. I’m looking forward to Masterverse next year. It’ll be a great jumping point for me to start collecting MOTU. I do own the MOTUC Battle Cat, Panthor, Skeletor, and He-man but that’s it. Really wish I got the Castle too. I couldn’t commit to the Club Eternia subscription since my interest was only with main characters I recognize. Plus it was so darn complicated to order every month from Matty with my slow dial up internet at the time. If I can order new He-Man stuff from Amazon like I do these days with Transformers, it’ll be my new thing. I’ve always liked the Filmations show but grew to love the 2000X MYP show more. So if Masterverse looks good by Toyfair, I’m in.
If you were a fan of the old toys and cartoon you should definitely check out MOTU Origins. Masterverse seems like it'll be new takes on MOTU were as Origins is modern updates.
I’ve been following the new Origins line on this thread and think all the added articulation without compromising the vintage look of the old style figures is remarkable. It hits you in that “give me the same but better” nostalgia feel. I love and live for nostalgia but I can get nostalgia if the IP holds true to the original material. New toy engineering satisfies the brain and nostalgia satisfies the heart. It’s this reason that I’m hoping the Masterverse will be a jumping on point for me to get into MOTU. Almost like how I’m enjoying The Star Wars Black series now. Modern construction of old characters. If the GIJoe 6” line deco looked closer to the 80’s Sunbow cartoon, I’d be all over that. I’ve followed the MOTU storyline from Filmation to MYP and the comics and really think there’s a lot of great stories and fun action figures for me and hope the Masterverse is the way.
