There's threads about them. Generally they are not very good though, definately the worst of the bootleg kos so far except for maybe some of the tapes (red paint chips off very very easily, loose joints, different gray colour, some came with missing or wrong weapons, etc., search thread feedback and toyark sections and you should find them). Unless you are looking to keep them sealed or for the box you can get decent quality vintage dinobots on ebay or wherever for around $35-60 each complete.
I agree with the first posting. If you want them to keep sealed they look nice and are definately cheaper than an original MISB. The repaints / clear ones are nice but not worth the price. If they make them in diaclone colors once again they would be cheaper than originals. Oh one more thing, not only do they sometimes come with missing weapons. They sometimes come with the wrong parts. I got one with two right arms??? There is no quality control per se.
Let's hope the upcoming Wheeljack and Sunstreaker KOs resemble the Mirage KO in quality more than the Dinobot KOs. There really isn't a modern-day replacement for G1 Wheeljack, and originals are very expensive.
I second that but my KO Mirage came with two left fists? So quality control is an issue. I also heard another board member who got one with a very loose waist.
The RED and GOLD Mirage I got was not painted on one side. The Black clear one was missing Labels and instructions. So I dont think they have any QA inspectors. KO are cool but they are KO's
Follow Up Q: KO v. WST v. Used G1 Vintage Hello. My first post. Sorry if this has been asked before. I'm looking to add some Dinobots to my collection. I'd prefer to go with ones that have more diecast metal than plastic, and most closely resemble the look of the G1 Dinobots (both in robot and dinosaur modes). Doesn't appear that the KOs are very good. But does anyone have experience with the alleged "second generation" KOs that are now appearing on ebay (e.g., Grimlock) , and claim to have fixed the problems with the first generation Dinobot KOs? How do the WSTs compare? The MISB Vintage G1s are way out of my price range. And getting a used G1 Vintage on ebay seems like a crap shoot, because you never know how accurately described the item really is. Any thoughts and recommendations? Thanks!
