I've only seen toys in Macy's once. Never again. I honestly forget to even check them because they've been such a no-go for so many years.

Target's BOGO 50% off deal combines with the discounted figure price. So today I was in a store and saw a Trailbreaker, so bought him and another deluxe and got each for $13.42. Even if they have a deluxe you don't like or already have, just return that one after the fact to get the discount.

As for Macy's, saw that a few days ago. Better deals can be had on Starscream and Hoist via Best Buy though. Sure you're buying blind, but I got a Hoist with this deal and just returned the other figure I didn't like:

Can you return it right after checkout?

 

I haven't at Target yet, but with Best Buy I did. I did buy online pick up in store and just explained it was blind and had them return it immediately. I'm assuming Target would be the same.

 

Some stores take 24 hours for it to get into the system. I think if you return at the same store you can still do it right away.

 

I would imagine that still works even with pre-orders? I just placed an order for Studio Series Dino and B-127 but I only had interest in Dino. Can I just return B-127 once they are released in May?

 

Just cancel B127 now, Dino will keep the discounted price.

 

So, I tried this and the discount changed from $10 off one deluxe to $5 off. Is this the same result I would have if I return B-127 once he's released in May?? I would just cancel now but in my head it seems like I'm not getting the same deal. By ordering B-127 I'm getting Dino for 11.79 including tax. If I cancel B-127 I'm paying 15.89 w/ tax. Am I missing something?

 

The discount is divided between the 2 items. By canceling one, you're essentially getting 25% off one item.

Okay. That makes more sense. I guess it's a matter of if I want to bother with trying to return of sell off B-127 when he's released to get the full 50% off or take the 25% and save myself the hassle.

 

I believe they'll only refund for 75%, due to the splitting of the discount across both items.

 

You'll have the same result returning it as cancelling it.

I also doubt you'll be able to sell B127 for full retail price (plus shipping, if you're not selling locally) when he comes out, as he'll probably be readily available to purchase from retailers.

That's kind of what I was expecting, or else everyone would be returning product they don't want to try and game the system to get the 50% off.

Yeah, I think you convinced me. Reselling for full retail would be a bit difficult. 25% off is still a god deal and makes it easier on me in the long run.
