unless they cut down the parts count I doubt it (I've already asked, doesn't seem likely)

Don't mind me, just posting pics of characters that will never be updated in Studio Series.

I just finished updating the paint work on my SS DOTM Ratchet, but unfortunately the lighting is really crappy right now. I'd like to wait for some better lighting to retake but I'm leaving tomorrow morning, so I'll have these in the meantime and take some better pictures once I'm back. Hopefully they still get the point across! If you want to see more, the link to Ratchet's page is on the first post of my customs page.

    Thank you!
Aesthetics don't clash too badly, though she does stand a bit tall.

I personally don't mind leaks. One way or another, we'll see how the figure looks anyway. And the surprise factor is still there, just not from hasbro themselves.
Plus, the resulting discussions are always fun. :popcorn

I’ve been out camping and have had no cell service and extremely spotty wifi so I just saw this.

    Well...fuck.

That's some amazing paint work! He truly looks fantastic.

Seeing your pictures made me take my Brawl off my shelf and look into removing his turret tail. It was never that obtrusive but it did always bother me. After watching one YouTube video of a custom I settled on a mod that I'm happy with.

    20201124_212935.jpg

All I did was just cut right at the support struts where the tabs are that plug into vehicle mode.
    20201124_212955.jpg
I opted to cut there as those other tabs on his back provide support for his sub turret that folds down on his back.

As to where the turret goes now there are two options.

#1 is tabbing it into his other cannon.
    20201124_213041.jpg 20201124_213136.jpg

#2 is a more elegant solution. I want to get some styrene or some extra plastic and make a tab that can slot into these grooves on the turret and peg into this 3mm port on his back.
    20201124_213247.jpg

This would be the front view that I did with some tape holding it together for an example.
    20201124_213359.jpg

The great thing about this mod is he still remains perfectly transformable as long as you don't mind parts forming (which I don't).
    20201124_211853.jpg

The two tabs on either side still slot into the arm panels. 20201124_211931.jpg

Here's a view of the turret slid up above the support strut underneath. Kinda mimics turret articulation like a real tank.
    20201124_211839.jpg

Once you squeeze everything together he looks just as good as he did pre-mod.
    20201124_211816.jpg

I consider this to be just effective as the Ratchet roof rack mod. Probably takes a bit more effort as the plastic here on Brawl is a bit thicker than the roof rack but as long as you know where you're cutting and use patience it's just as straight forward.

How good do the shoulders hold up?? I heard from ShowZ that BA Ironhide is as good as dead, since BA was one of the managers at WJ. So I may just have to settle for this one.
MPM Ironhide isn't the issue, scale wise, MPM Prime is. He's too small to properly scale with the rest of the team.

BA Prime fixes that issue with Bee and Jazz, but then Ironhide and Ratchet are too small next to him.

And it's the same with the SS Bots. Everyone, with the exception of Prime, scale perfectly with each other.
Bro this look amazing!! I look forward to seeing more of your customs!!

I've been meaning to ask... Does anyone have the old "Legends Class" (because I can't think of the actual name, right now) Skids and Mudflap from ROTF and SS Bumblebee? I'd love to see how they scale in robot and vehicle mode.

the fact that devcon made it far enough to actually be designed and then canned for high parts count is just proof of his chad status

Ironhide actually is a big truck,
That said, Prime is to small in mpm scale so you would need a leader (rotf/buster/striker) to scale in vehicle mode or be lucky enough to find a Black apple Prime or blue circus one to work with the mpm’s.

for SS and MPM scale Ironhide isn’t out of scale, Prime is. For SS scale you can find the Slightly OS SS05 optimus,he looks better. But to be frank, it isn’t Ironhide that is out of scale, it is Oprimus.. 1:39 is roughly SS size, Prime is 1:51 scale and in MPM it is 1:29 scale with Prime at 1:35

closer but still not.. LS-09 is 1:26 where BA Prime is 1:29..
There is only one altmode that scales with MPM/BA and that is the old leader.
I am tempted to reshell Ls-09 with the old leader to get him right..
That said, it isn’t bad in altmode and looks briliant in botmode!
If you want I can show mpm, leader and BMB Ironhide side by side. In all modes. image.jpg

A simple figure from a simple time but still quite entertaining.

    Hello All,

I’ve just started collecting Movie MP figures. Another slippery slope for me.

I’ve been more of a completionist on Siege/ER and SS86 and G1s amongst the kingdom line when they are released. Plus I have a dozen G1 MPs/3P figures and that is it.

I would be most grateful for any advice on which movie Bumblebee to get. I like the TE version but is the scale right or marginally too tall in bot mode?

Otherwise I was looking at getting LS07 VW Beetle rather than the Camaro interpretation.

    Appreciate thoughts and feedback.

PS- got myself confused over which OP. Help on that would be equally appreciated. Apologies if has been covered and going over old ground

    Kind regards,
    Steve

Not sure about the Bumblebee movie transformers since I'm not really into them, but as far as the original trilogy Optimus and Bumblebee go the best for screen-accuracy are LTS03C and LS03 (both BMB products).

Thank you for your reply. Will have a look at those.

Sorry I didn’t phrase my post right in respect of the Bumblebee figure. I wasn’t necessarily referring to the Bumblebee film.

There are at least 3-4 movie figure representations I’ve come across. I had narrowed down to TE and LS07 (VW alt mode versions). Trying to find out if that was the way to go or the version that has the Camaro as the alt mode.

Thanks for your time and apologies if this has been answered or old hat of questioning from me.
