He also did the cover for issue #53. The "First One" holding up the dismembered Cloudburst reminds me of his early X-Men art.

Maybe we can all pool our money together for it, like what Bart, Millhouse and Martin did for Radioactive Man #1 in the Simpsons. Of course that did not end well in the cartoon :)

Getting unbelievably furious that Ultimate X-Spanse doesn't come with a little First One to go with Wolverine and Sabretooth

Owning originals might be a goal for many but I prefer hires reproductions.

If it gets damaged, stolen, etc. you just print another one and voila.

Plus, a repro is like $10 versus $10000.

Too rich for my blood. Thankfully, I have original art from some earlier issues (like when Ratchet thanked the traffic light for changing) and I\'m just fine with that.

It’s interesting that on the right it says December 4, 1986, but at the bottom it says June ‘90 cover date. I believe 1990 is correct, so I guess 1986 could be a TFtM reference, but seems kind of obscure for Lee or whoever would have wrote that.

well the comic did come out in 1990 but your TFtM reference is incorrect i own the comic and i read it and how the movie is in 2005 the comic was an alternate timeline where the decepticons hae won the war so your almost right

Well I think December 4th might have been when Jim drew it, but not in 1986, it probably would have been 1989. So I’m not sure why it says 1986. Unless it was an unused cover they never used until he got famous 4 years later. (Maybe it was meant for a TF the movie adaptation?) And I’m not sure that if he had drawn it on December 4 1989 that it could have been on the cover of the June issue. The dates on comic covers are usually ahead 3 months, so the June cover probably really came out in March, so December 4th would have been 4 months before the book came out. Possible, but seems close.
